Book One of The Absolute Sovereign
Prologue — The Lie of Balance
The world was built on a lie.
They called it balance—the careful scale between light and dark, order and chaos, kings and gods. Empires rose and fell because they were allowed to. Magic waxed and waned because it was regulated. Power, they said, must never be absolute.
So they shattered it.
Seven Crowns were forged from the corpse of a dead god, each crown containing a fragment of authority over existence itself. One ruled flame. One ruled death. One ruled minds. One ruled time. One ruled beasts. One ruled fate. One ruled magic.
And the eighth?
The eighth was never meant to exist.
It was not forged.
It was born.
