Lin Meiyin walked down the stairs and Gu Chenyu looked up his eyes were glued to Lin Meiyin who was walking downstairs with a sharp look, his eyes widened he felt his pulse racing why is she too beautiful, Gu Chenyu began thinking "Should I hide her away? or give her a sack to wear?" he wondered.
Lin Meiyin stood in front of him with a smile"Mr Gu how do I look " she said.
"Ugly, I don't like the dress" he said with a frown. Lin Meiyin's facial expression changes"well I like it let's go " she said about to leave when Gu Chenyu holds her hand. She felt a jacket drape over her shoulders "it's cold put this on" he said. Lin Meiyin was at loss for words and then he takes her into the car.
Jiang Mingxuan starts driving and Gu Chenyu felt uncomfortable in the car he loosened his tie a bit, Lin Meiyin didn't seem to care and looked outside the window they stopped at The Gu Mansion the place filled with guests.
Lin Meiyin links her arm with Gu Chenyu's and they walk in. All eyes on them "it's Lin and her suitor they looked so good together" The same way some men envied Gu Chenyu, some women felt like tearing Lin Meiyin apart like Nan Rouchu for a start who kept gritting her teeth immediately she sighted them.
She walks towards them with a glass of champagne.
"You guys are the center of attention now, Miss Lin's beauty is breathtaking, you look all flashy tonight if Miss Lin was single I would say she came looking for a suitor" said Nan Rouchu with a smile.
"I didn't know Miss Nan Rouchu was friends with my sister I'm surprised to see you here" said Lin Meiyin. Nan Rouchu smiles back at Lin Meiyin" It's just an event Miss Lin look your little friend is here" she said pointing towards Fu Shichen who was talking with some men at the other side.
"Miss Lin looks like she wants to steal the party, trying to look better than the bride" said Nan Rouchu.
"Nan Rouchu that's enough" Gu Chenyu gritted looking at Nelly his eyes like knives. "Don't cause trouble here" he adds.
"Trouble!! Like seriously Chenyu I'm not the problem here" said Nelly raising her voice a little higher.
"You're turning into a problem" said Gu Chenyu.
"Chenyu can you give me your coat" said Lin Meiyin. Gu Chenyu glady takes off his coat and gives it to Lin Meiyin,she puts it on with a wide smile.
"Is Miss Nan Rouchu satisfied" she said winking at her and then taking Gu Chenyu away. Nan Rouchu's smile faded
"Gu Chenyu look she's being arrogant" Nan Rouchu complained like a five year old but Gu Chenyu didn't seem to budge.
"Gu Chenyu listen me stay away from her open your eyes for God's sake she's a typical psychopath and slut!!" Nan Rouchu yelled.
Everyone stopped and looked at her as she was trembling in anger. Gu Chenyu's facial expression had also changed the temperature in the hall had dropped immediately he gave that evil look.
"Did you come here to cause a scene?" He asked. "Everything has a limit Miss Nan and you have reached yours , if you pour dirty water on my wife again, or embarrass her in anyway you are going to regret knowing a person like me and getting on my bad side, you know what I can do Miss Nan so you can as well shut your mouth before I make you and throw you out" Gu Chenyu's words were final and extremely cold, anger in his eyes as his grip tightened on Lin Meiyin's hand. Lin Meiyin felt touched Gu Chenyu stood up for her and decided to believe her upon everything he heard. Nan Rouchu's eyes widened.
"He's ready to cut off our friendship because of this woman" she said to herself.
Gu Chenyu takes Lin Meiyin away and Lin Meiyin's eyes softened she looked at Gu Chenyu, "Why do you trust me so much?" She asked.
"Because you aren't who they say you are, there are all rumors Lin Meiyin and I know what was going on from the start" said Gu Chenyu.
Lin Meiyin felt her eyes turning red and she lowers her head.
"Thank you for believing in me I don't know what I did to have someone like you by my side, you're the best thing that has happened to me recently" she said with a smile.
"You helped me discover the best version of myself, making me stand tall and not hide, even though they say I have emotional problems" said Lin Meiyin.
"It's okay" said Gu Chenyu, holding her hand the wedding began soon and the bride appears.
Lin Meiyin watched them with a hint of mockery,she looked at Lin Xuewei walking down the aisle like a queen. Lin Meiyin and Gu Chenyu where unconsciously holding hands and their grip tightened they both turned and looked at each other something flashed past their eyes and Lin Meiyin's cheeks turn red she looks away immediately.
They began to say their vows and soon they were married. Lin Meiyin watched them dance intimately, she sees Fu Shichen and waved at him. He raises his glass at her, Nan Rouchu was in sorrow drinking herself to stupor. Fu Shichen was drinking when Ji Rin approached him, he almost spat out the drink in his mouth "Hello fiance surprised to see me" said Ji Rin with a smile.
"Ji Rin what are you doing here who's your fiance" said Fu Shichen.
"Shichen we have a marriage agreement we are getting married and by the way I'm your future bride why shouldn't I come?" She said.
"Ji Rin don't pester me okay just go away" said Fu Shichen walking away.
Lin Meiyin felt a bit bored and Gu Chenyu noticed it
"Care to dance" he asked, Lin Meiyin looked at him "I'm honored, I don't want to dance" she said. Gu Chenyu's face turns ashen "Get up Lin Meiyin let's go dance" he said, taking her hand and leading her to the dance floor were other people were dancing.
Gu Chenyu places his hand on her waist Lin Meiyin's cheeks turn red and her heart skipped a beat. "Gu Chenyu I feel uneasy when you hold me there" she said.
" Really" Gu Chenyu grinned dragging her all to himself, he caresses her waist touching her bare back it was a bit cold and very smooth.
"Gu Chenyu stop playing games" she said "You're taking advantage of me" she said grinding her teeth.
"Really, I'm trying to cover it up, showing off your skin to other men makes a husband jealous" he said.
"Husband you say, I think this marriage is getting into your head" she said.
"I think so" said Gu Chenyu.
"Tell me how does it feel to be a married man?" She asked.
"It's not so lonely having nagging Lin Meiyin by my side is pleasant" Gu Chenyu replies with a lazy look.
Lin Meiyin frowns "I won't disappoint you" she said and then smiles.
"Flirting with me" he said to her the atmosphere changes.
"Isn't Mr Gu flirting too?" she whispered. Gu Chenyu looks at her fox like face and shinny lips, her lashes were long and if she closes her eyes they would brush against her cheeks. Lin Meiyin's cheeks turn redder at his looks and then she turns her face away, "Meiyin" David's voice was in her ear.
"I'm attracted to you, tell me what should I do?" Lin Meiyin's eyes widened she didn't want to look into those glass eyes it made her feel weak.
"Um I...I...have to use the restroom" she excused herself immediately feeling more shy she leaves him alone on the dancefloor and walks away.
Lin Meiyin looks at herself in the mirror her chest heaving "You can't possibly fall for him can you? Yes I can?" She answered her self. "What if he leaves me" she said.
"Just like the others" Lin Meiyin closes her eyes and was about to go out when she sees Ji Rin.
