Chapter 3 - The First Corruption

Three months.

That was how long Adam lasted before losing patience.

Civilization, he discovered, was exhausting when you were the only thinking human alive.

"Push."

The humans pushed.

A massive log rolled forward.

Stopped.

Fell sideways.

Crushed three workers.

They stood back up immediately.

Waiting.

Adam covered his face.

"No curiosity. No improvement. No survival instinct."

He kicked the unfinished structure.

It collapsed instantly.

Progress required mistakes.

But mistakes required thought.

And thought did not exist in Eden.

So every invention began the same way—

Adam failed first.

Alone.

The wheel took twelve attempts.

Fire nearly burned half the forest.

Paper required sacrificing an entire grove.

Printing almost drove him insane.

Every discovery felt less like invention—

and more like dragging humanity forward by force.

By the end of the third month, Eden had changed.

Roads appeared.

Tools spread.

Copper weapons gleamed beneath sunlight.

And for the first time in existence—

humans marched in formation.

Adam stood before them proudly.

Humanity's first army.

Purpose?

Unknown.

Target?

Heaven.

"I WARN YOU!"

His voice echoed across Eden.

"COME OUT OR I BURN EVERYTHING AGAIN!"

Firelight rose behind him.

He meant it.

He always meant it.

Light descended.

An angel landed before the army.

Six wings.

Male.

Calm.

Unimpressed.

"I bring the Lord's response."

Adam crossed his arms.

"I want the apple."

"No."

"I want women."

"I will relay your request."

"When?"

"The Lord is resting."

Adam blinked slowly.

"...He's sleeping?"

The angel nodded.

Something inside Adam snapped.

"Charge."

Humanity attacked Heaven for the first time.

It lasted twelve seconds.

Light exploded.

The army collapsed.

Adam remembered flying.

Then darkness.

When he woke three days later, he reached a conclusion.

Force wouldn't work.

Which meant—

deception would.

Two years passed.

Copper became standard.

Wine was invented accidentally.

And Adam waited.

Patiently.

For the right angel.

The sky tore open one evening.

Not light.

Authority.

Twelve wings unfolded across the heavens.

Reality bent around him.

Every human instinctively knelt.

Adam did not.

Lucifer had arrived.

"What is your request?" the archangel asked.

His voice carried judgment itself.

Adam smiled warmly.

"No hostility today."

Behind him, soldiers lowered weapons.

"I merely wish to welcome Heaven's finest guest."

Lucifer frowned.

Suspicion flickered.

Adam produced a clay cup.

Primitive.

Harmless.

Wine sloshed inside.

"A drink," Adam said casually."For the journey."

Lucifer hesitated.

Divine beings did not indulge.

But curiosity—

a flaw Adam understood well—

was contagious.

He drank.

Once.

Then again.

Warmth spread.

Confusion followed.

Adam casually walked toward the hidden tree.

One apple remained.

Carefully preserved.

He sliced it.

Offered half.

Lucifer accepted without thinking.

Bit down.

The world changed.

Instantly.

Wind screamed across Eden.

Light fractured.

Somewhere beyond reality—

God awakened.

Lucifer froze.

Understanding dawned too late.

Adam grinned.

"Congratulations."

"You just invented sin."

Above Eden—

Heaven trembled for the first time.

And humanity's fall…

finally began.
