Chapter 1 - incident that shaken me

The Red Bride: A Lunch Break Nightmare

The Busy Morning

It was a very busy morning at my office. I had so many files to check and many emails to answer. My head was aching because of the continuous work. Around 1 PM, my friends, Neha and Rahul, came to my desk. They said, "Let's go out for lunch today, we all need a break!" I agreed because I wanted to feel some fresh air. We decided to go to a local Dhaba which was a 10-minute walk from our office.

The sun was very bright, and it was a hot day. We were talking about our office work and laughing. I felt happy to be out of the office. We reached the Dhaba and sat on a wooden bench under a very big, old tree. The Dhaba was crowded, and many people were enjoying their food. We ordered some food and waited for it to arrive. Everything felt very normal.

The Strange Lady

While we were waiting, I looked towards the road. I saw a woman standing there. She was wearing a heavy, bright red dress, just like a new bride. She had many white bridal bangles ('Chuda') on her arms. I thought, "Maybe she is going to a wedding." But she was standing very still, she was not moving at all.

I turned to talk to my friends for just 10 seconds. When I looked back at the road, the lady was gone. I was surprised. Then, I saw her again. She was now standing near a big tree, much closer to our table. My heart started beating fast. How did she cross the road and reach the tree so fast? I rubbed my eyes, thinking maybe it was the heat of the sun.

The Sound of Anklets

Suddenly, I felt a strange, cold wind. I heard a faint sound—'Chann... Chann...' It was the sound of heavy silver anklets (Payal). My friends were busy looking at their phones and joking. I told them, "Do you see that bride near the tree?"

Neha looked and said, "Which bride? I only see the tree and some shadows." Rahul teased me, saying, "You are working too hard, you are seeing ghosts now!" They both started laughing. But I was not laughing. I could see her clearly. Her face was covered with a red veil, and I felt she was looking only at me.

The Pillar and the Fear

A few minutes later, the waiter brought our food. But I could not eat. I looked at the concrete pillar near our table. My blood turned cold. The lady in the red dress was now standing behind that pillar. I could see her red sleeve and her white 'Chuda' glittering in the light.

"She is there! Right behind that pillar!" I whispered. My voice was shaking. My friends looked again. "There is no one there. Please eat your food," they said. They thought I was playing a joke. But then, I heard the sound again—'Chann-Chann'—and this time, it was coming from right behind my chair.

The Final Moment: 'DHADAM!'

I felt a very cold air on my neck. It smelled like old flowers and wet mud. I felt like someone was standing exactly behind me. I was frozen with fear. I could not move.

Suddenly, a very loud sound came—'DHADAM!' It sounded like a heavy body had fallen on the ground with full force. I screamed and turned around. For a small second, I saw a red dress on the floor, and then it vanished like smoke.

"What happened?" my friends shouted. They saw me shaking and crying. I tried to point at the floor, but I could not speak. My head started spinning. Everything became dark, and I fainted and fell from the bench.

The 104-Degree Fever

When I opened my eyes, I was at my home. My mother was sitting near me. My body was burning. "You have a 104-degree fever," my mother said. My friends told me that I had suddenly fainted at the Dhaba.

For three days, I was very sick. Every time I closed my eyes, I heard that 'Chann-Chann' sound. I felt like the lady in the red dress was still in my room. It took me many days to feel better.

Even today, I don't like to go to that Dhaba. Whenever I see a woman in a red bridal dress, I remember that 'Dhadam' sound and I feel very scared. I learned that some things are real, even if others cannot see them.so this was the most scariest incident of mine.bcz' jab ye mere sath hora tha na wo mai hi janti hu' .I hv learned k jin chezo ke nam hote hai wo asal me hoti hai jiske sath hota hai wo hi jan sakta hai ..
