Chapter 10 - Chapter-9-Soulmate in Dreams

…Dreams…

I reached his villa, dancing with happiness, my heart light and fearless.

Before stepping inside, I cleared my throat nervously.

"Ahem… hmm… huh…"

And I knocked.

'Why am I clearing my throat like some old aunty?'

The main door was open.

He wasn't there.

I had just stepped inside when suddenly, from behind—

"So… even in dreams, you couldn't stop chasing me?"

The moment I heard his voice, my balance faltered.

I slipped on the descending steps, my body tipping forward—

And just in time, he caught my hand, pulling me back.

"You're very nervous," he said softly.

'So this is basically teasing me on purpose.' I smiled.

"Why? Aren't you?"

… he always tries to scare me.

I stood steady and tilted my face closer to his.

"What happened? Why are you blushing?" I teased more.

"Do you like me?"

He looked straight into my eyes.

"Hmm… since the very first moment."

Once again, I fell into his trap.

My heartbeat turned restless, loud, uncontrollable.

I turned away quickly, trying to hide it.

"I thought today I'd take you out," I said lightly.

"Anyway staying here in this wasteland, you've somehow turned into part of the wasteland yourself…?"

No-gul smiled. "Why?

"Do you want me to suddenly start blooming here?"

"Alright then. Let's go."

"You're not even going to ask where we're going?" I asked.

"I'm scared, but wherever I go, I'll go with you… so I'll share problem with you." He looked and replied.

We laughed.

We stepped outside…

and soon, we were back near the waterfall.

I stretched my hand toward him.

"So… shall we go?"

But he just stood there, staring at me.

"What happened? Come on," I said, extending my hand a little more.

He finally took it and stepped closer, coming up beside me.

"The lamplight earlier gave you a warm, golden glow," he said quietly.

"But here, in the light of this waterfall…

you look completely different—calmer, softer."

"Feels like your eyesight's finally catching up." I said sarcastically .

We moved closer to the waterfall,

walking into a world of flowers and fragrance,

where everything felt unreal…

and yet perfectly real.

"So this is an Indian traditional look," he added ,

"and you are Indian."

"What's wrong?" I teased him.

"Are you regretting it?"

" Absolutely Not," he replied calmly.

"I'm just thinking… you understand my language very well."

"Your language?" I asked, curious.

"I can speak Chinese, Korean, English, Hindi… and a little French too?"

"But right now, we're speaking Hindi."

"Right? "

He smiled slightly.

"No… when you speak, I hear everything in Korean."

I burst out laughing.

"So this dream is clearly made by Google Translator."

He stare at me again......

I looked back—our eyes met.

"This dress… this look," he said quietly,

"It suits you so well. Your eyes—"

He stopped mid-sentence.

Turning away, he watch up at the moon.

Watching the moon with him felt deeply soothing; its soft light was filling our hearts with a gentle glow.

"We met in a dream," I said while watching moon,

"but now I'm afraid… afraid it might break."

He turned his neck toward me, his gaze steady.

"But as long as I'm alive, I will find you—

no matter which corner of the world you're in."

I smiled, holding an emotion I couldn't put into words.

"Promise?"

"I promise."

He smiled back , hold my hand tightly.

Some moments in life are truly special—

moments that stay with us forever.

The heart longs to freeze itself in those moments,

but time… time never stops for anyone.

Just then, the sound of someone crying echoed through the air.

"Hyunghhhhhh…"

Where was it coming from…?

I paused, listening carefully, my eyes searching the darkness.

No‑gul spoke calmly, almost casually,

"I think a wolf lives around here. It always cries like this."

Then he added, unfazed,

"Don't worry. In a little while, it'll quiet down on its own."

"But why does it feel to me… like a little child is calling out to their brother?" I added my thoughts.

......

We meet again and again in the same dream, and after a brief moment of sleep, it shatters.

No matter how much we wish otherwise, we cannot meet again unless a new dream is came.
