Chapter 9 The Collapse of Faith on Seagod Island, Poseidon's Demise:

What About the Faith I've Upheld My Whole Life?

"Angel God... my inherited god... is also related to that Wei Yuan?"

Qian Renxue subconsciously clenched her fists.

Her greatest pride in life was inheriting the Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul, destined to become the Angel God.

But now, the Heavenly Curtain was telling her that this supreme divine position might also hide unknown secrets.

This made her feel an unprecedented sense of confusion and unease.

"Wei Yuan... Purple Emperor Annihilation Dragon..."

She murmured these two names.

A man from the Sun Moon Continent, a Martial Soul that had never left a significant mark in the history books of Douluo Continent, yet he was linked to the paths to godhood of two top deities, the Seagod and the Angel God.

What earth-shattering secret was hidden within?

Qian Renxue's eyes became incredibly complex.

On one hand, she hoped the Heavenly Curtain's assessment was false, to maintain the perfect image of the Angel God in her heart.

On the other hand, she couldn't suppress her curiosity, wanting to know the truth of that sealed history.

"Next inventory… Angel God…"

Qian Renxue slowly stood up, walked to the window, and gazed at the dissipated sky, her eyes deep.

"No matter the truth, I must walk my own path."

"The path to godhood, I will never waver!"

Qian Renxue took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing the distracting thoughts in her heart.

But she knew that from this day forward, a name called "Wei Yuan" had left an indelible mark on her heart.

The sky had disappeared, but the impact it brought was like a never-ending tsunami, sweeping across every corner of Seagod Island.

The once sacred and tranquil Seagod Mountain was now bustling with noise and chaos.

Thousands of Sea Soul Masters gathered in the plaza before the Sea God Temple, their faces etched with shock, anger, confusion, and a sense of betrayal. They shouted, their emotions running high, demanding an explanation from the High Priest.

"High Priest! Please come out and tell us, is what the heavens say true?"

"Did our Sea God truly become a god by betraying his closest friend?"

"The god we've worshipped for generations is actually a despicable villain? I don't believe it! This must be false!"

"If it's false, why hasn't the Sea God sent down a divine decree to refute it? Why has the light of the Sea God dimmed?"

Each question, like a sharp blade, pierced the heart of every Sea God Island resident.

Their faith, today, was utterly shattered.

Inside the Sea God Temple, the seven guardians of the sacred pillars gathered together, their faces pale, each with an expression of profound solemnity.

Sea Dragon Douluo, the leader of the seven, said in a hoarse voice, "I've already consulted the High Priest, but... the High Priest has locked herself in her chambers and won't see anyone."

Seahorse Douluo, his face full of worry, sighed, "How could this be... Lord Sea God... how could he do such a thing? I can't believe it, this must be some kind of conspiracy against my Sea God Island!"

"But we've all witnessed the power of the Heavenly Canopy; it's something no mortal could forge."

Starfish Douluo shook his head bitterly.

"And haven't you all felt it?

Our connection with Lord Sea God... has become weaker than ever before, almost... severed."

Upon hearing this, everyone fell silent.

As the Sea God's most loyal servants, they understood better than anyone what this meant.

It meant that either Lord Sea God had actively severed his connection with them, or... something had happened to Lord Sea God!

Considering the contents of the Heavenly Canopy, the answer was self-evident.

"What do we do now?"

Sea Spear Douluo paced anxiously back and forth.

"The people outside are about to lose control. If this continues, Seagod Island will descend into chaos!"

Sea Dragon Douluo took a deep breath, a resolute glint in his eyes:

"No matter what, we must stabilize the situation.

Seagod Island is our home; we cannot allow it to be destroyed in our hands.

Issue my order: the seven sacred pillars return to their positions, appease the people, and suppress all unrest!

Maintaining order on Seagod Island is our top priority until we receive clear instructions from the High Priest!"

"Yes!"

The other six responded in unison, then transformed into streaks of light and flew towards their respective sacred pillars to fulfill their final duties.

Seagod Temple, High Priest's chambers.

A deathly silence reigned.

Poseidon, clad in a magnificent priestly robe, knelt alone on the cold floor. Her exquisite and noble face was now streaked with tears, her complexion ashen.

Before her lay an exquisite blue magic circle, at the center of which floated a deep blue teardrop-shaped gem—her medium for communicating with the Sea God.

However, the gem, which would normally radiate light with a mere prayer, was now dull and lifeless. No matter how much soul power she poured into it, no matter how fervently she called out, it was like a stone sinking into the sea, offering no response.

"Why…why is this happening…"

Poseidon murmured absently, her eyes filled with endless pain and despair.

She refused to believe what was displayed on the celestial screen.

In her heart, the Sea God was an omnipotent, radiant, and great supreme deity, the being she had devoted her entire life to loving and following.

For him, she had given up the chance to be with Tang Chen, waiting alone on Sea God Island for a hundred years.

But now, a cruel truth was laid bare before her, telling her that the god she believed in and loved was a hypocrite who had risen to power through betrayal and lies.

Her faith, her love, her lifelong commitment—in this moment, they had all become a colossal joke.

"No…I don't believe it…"

Poseidon tried to communicate with the sea god again and again, trying to get a negative answer from him.

Even the slightest fluctuation of divine power would have been her last straw.

However, there was nothing.

Nothing at all.

That realm belonging to the gods had become a desolate void to her.

Poseidon finally gave up.

She slowly collapsed to the ground, tears silently streaming down her face, soaking the floor beneath her.

She remembered what that domineering yet affectionate man (Tang Chen) had said to her a hundred years ago:

"Little Xi, is the god really worth everything you've given up? Come with me, let's create our own world together."

At the time, she had refused.

Now, how ironic it seemed.

The god she had protected her whole life was a hypocrite. The lover she had missed remained faithful until death.

"Tang Chen…I was wrong…I was wrong…"

Her sorrowful cries echoed for a long time in the empty palace.

The supreme ruler of Seagod Island, this Limit Douluo who was infinitely close to godhood, utterly collapsed under the double blow of the crumbling of his faith and love.

The future of Seagod Island is now shrouded in mist.
