during the night fall pack as they gathered under
the moon as usuall - silently. Obediently aware of their
various places & positions in the hierarchy.
Arielle was standing at the extreme of the
clearing, close enough to be seen & far enough to
be forgotten. Her thin cloak could have protected
her but she didn't pull it tighter, she couldn't draw attention as one who carried the
lowest rank in the pack.
Omega. the word followed her like a shadow.
She kept her head lowered as all the wolves assembled
in their pecking order -they lined up accordingly. the
warriors were the first in line, standing tall
and proud. the enforcers stood close behind with
radiating aggression. betas guarded the inner
Circle, alert and sharp eyed. At the centre were
the elders standing, their presence commands
heavy authority. (they're considered guidance of hierchy)
And then there was her.
An omega without wolf.
At eighteen she has failed Completely with no chance left for trials.
"move faster" A sharp voice snapped.
Arielle hurried to collect the Ceremonial bowls scattered across the ground. Tonight marked the alpha's return and everything must be made perfect though perfection wasn't expected of her - only obedience.
She moves quietly, all she cares about is her survival in the pack, amidst the toxicity, she isn't interested in dominance because she feels she's living at the mercy of her others. therefore she's careful with every of her step. Every of her breath is been controlled. She had learned long ago how easily pain follows on every mistake.
Laughter broke out near the warriors.
"Is she's still wolfless ?" One asked openly.
"useless. The moon goddess must've forgotten her." Another added.
Arielle didn't say anything.
she had already prayed and begged the moon goddess for answers, and mercy for anything. But the moon has always remained silent when it came to her.
the ground trembled.
not violently — but enough
The sound rolled with heavy clearing like a distant thunder. All the wolf straightened instinctively. Conversations died Heads bowed.
Arielle froze. she knew that presence.
Alpha Kael had returned.
His arrival isn't announced with words. It's not necessary because His aura Command submission on its own.
it pulls instinctive obedience from every wolf present.
Even Arielle felt it. the night air, something ancient beneath it power Considered must be far older than a single pack.
she tried stepping back but her body couldn't.
she felt a sudden pain bloomed in her chest.
it was very sharp.
she hadn't expected this. she gasped, dropping
one of the bowls she was holding and it shattered
against the stone ground. the sound echoed so
loudly in silence.
Every eye turned towards her.
Arielle's heart hammered painfull as the shards her
knees. Grabbed her chest. the pain was much for
her, as it spread through her veins like fire.
her breath shortened.
No - this couldn't be happening.
she had never felt something like this before.
she hears foots approaching ,-A very heavy one.
Quietly she lifted her face,
Lo!and behold, it was the Alpha Kael standing
before her
He was taller than the last time she saw him,
broader, his back hair brushed back from a face
Carved with authority and restraint. His silver eyes
glowed beneath the moon, very sharp and assessing
they locked onto her.
her world seems to blurred, her pain doubled
until she cried out despite herself. something
inside her was buried deep and silently as if waking from a long, forced sleep.
the recognition struck her like a blade
mate.
the word echoed through her soul, absolute and undeniable
Her hands tremble as she shook her head.
"NO," she whispered .
please... there must be
a mistake! – Arielle muttered with tears.
Alpha Kael's expression hardened – not with desire, but
with shock, with denial.
"No," he said under his breath.
This is impossible. – A wolf-less omega could not
be the mate of an Alpha – let alone a man
whose presence felt far greater than his title
suggested. this voice came from one the warriors.
Kael took a step back.
for some seconds, there was murmur within
the pack
He stepped away from her with anger.
Arielle's chest constricted painfully -the bond stretched , tugging at her with a force she did not understand begging for acknowledgment
But kael's jaw tightened
He spoke with a cold and clear voice
" I reject you "
The words shattered the night
Arielle screamed on again, she fell on the ground,
her vision bluming as the bond violently reacted.
the pain wasn't comparable , her heart and soul
was shattered.
she felt something Crack but didn't break
rejection was rare and never done publicly .
Kael turned away angrily and never looked back
the elders exchanged glances as the moonlight
disappeared unnaturally . the air grew heavy, charged with Something unseen.
Arielle lay trembling on the cold stone, with tears strolling down her eyes to cheeks.
rejected.
by her mate
By the lycan Throne - but shes yet to find out.
far beyond the night of all packs' territory, ancient forces stirred.
there was long silent as they watched her closely.
