Chapter 86 - The Longinus User of the Incinerate Anthem!

"Hmm."

Just after running out of the house behind her-a house now full of bandit corpses-a trace of confusion flashed through Yuri Nakamura's eyes.

But she didn't stop.

She turned her head slightly, glancing back.

"I feel like I... forgot something."

However, thinking of her brothers and sisters who had run off to who knew where, she didn't dwell on it.

Finding them was more important.

Fortunately, it didn't take long.

On the road leading to the police station, Yuri Nakamura spotted the figures of her three younger siblings.

The unease and hesitation in her heart instantly dissipated.

She let out a long breath.

Whew-

Then, suddenly, a cold sensation touched her right palm.

Her heart skipped.

She looked down.

An exquisite pistol-golden, luxurious, almost dazzling-had appeared in her hand at some unknown moment.

It looked like it was made of gold.

The texture was clearly metallic.

Yet its weight was light enough that even a girl her age could handle it with ease.

"This is... a gun!"

The girl's pupils contracted slightly.

Unconsciously, her mind replayed the expressions, movements, and threats of those fierce men from a few minutes earlier.

Her arm jolted.

She flung the golden pistol aside.

"When did I pick this up?"

She hesitated.

"But... it feels like I really did forget something important just now."

Yuri Nakamura glanced at the pistol she had tossed away, shook her head, and sprinted toward the three small figures ahead.

Her mind was completely focused on her family.

She didn't notice that there was no sound of the object hitting the ground behind her.

Because it never did.

Before reaching the ground, the pistol silently dissipated into nothing.

-

Just went to a neighbor's house for a walk, and I still run into something like this.

My luck... tsk.

With a quiet sigh, Hiro glanced at the residential house to his right.

There were no abnormalities.

Nothing out of place.

He wondered briefly whether the Lala family had noticed the time stop earlier.

Then he lifted his foot, intending to head back inside after being gone for a while.

And stopped.

At the intersection dozens of meters to his left, a bright green magic circle suddenly unfolded.

Hiro turned his head and stared at it.

Speechless.

What is it today?

Did everyone coordinate to show up on the same day?

Setting emotion aside, he examined the pattern of the magic circle.

It wasn't Gremory.

Not Lucifer.

Not Sitri.

Not Phenex.

When the teleportation light faded, the person who appeared wasn't someone he recognized.

An old woman.

Completely unfamiliar.

Her hair was white.

But her expression was sharp and capable.

The staff-like cane in her right hand made it clear she wasn't a soft target.

Behind her stood a girl with two white pigtails, dressed neatly, posture respectful.

A disciple.

An attendant.

Or a servant.

If a fight breaks out here, it'll affect my house.

Hiro glanced again at the residence to his right.

Troublesome.

"What do the two of you want from me?"

His tone was flat.

Uninterested.

As he spoke, the God's Right Eye opened silently.

A powerful illusion unfolded.

Not only did it conceal the change in his eyes from the two of them, it also prepared a preemptive setup for any conflict that might follow.

But that wasn't his main purpose.

He wanted True Name Discernment.

Augustus Henry Fitzroy.

Walburga Henry Fitzroy.

Two completely unfamiliar names.

Hiro observed the names floating above their heads, expression unchanged.

Small fries?

Or just insignificant extras with no screen time?

It wasn't contempt.

Without a powerful Sacred Gear developed to an advanced level, ordinary humans simply weren't qualified to fight him.

After all-

Why fight when a single The World could solve everything?

Shura. Gods. Buddhas. Devils. Angels. Fallen Angels.

Even without Sacred Gears, some of them can reach absurd levels through innate abilities and massive magical power.

Fenrir. Sairaorg.

Those types could probably exchange blows with my current self.

Of course-

That was under the premise that he didn't remove certain restrictions.

"Hiro."

The old woman stepped forward.

"Time is short, so I'll be direct."

Her gaze was sharp.

"Leave those devils and join us. As a human, why stay among different species? Aren't you afraid that one day they'll turn on you and steal your Sacred Gear?"

Hiro tilted his head.

He had no intention of agreeing.

"Who are you?"

"We are mages under the Infinite Dragon God," the old woman replied calmly. "As for me, I am the ruler of the inner world of the Land of Oz."

She paused.

"Another identity of mine is the same as yours."

"A Sacred Gear user."

"No-"

Her right hand extended toward him, palm facing upward.

"I should say, a Longinus user."

Puff.

A cross-shaped purple flame ignited in her palm.

"The Crucifix of the Incinerate Anthem," she said. "The legendary cross that nailed the Holy Son. One of the Three Holy Relics."

Four official settings for the Three Holy Relics.

That thought crossed Hiro's mind instantly.

A big fish showed up out of nowhere.

Well... a big old woman.

Hiro narrowed his tea-colored eyes as he looked at the purple flame.

Khaos Brigade member.

Then killing her is fine.

I can use Kotoamatsukami on the girl behind her and keep her.

The real issue is-

Can I deal with the old woman without damaging the surrounding houses?

She pinpointed this intersection so accurately.

There's no way she doesn't know which one is the Nanamiya-Kirigaya residence.

"To avoid attracting the attention of the Beelzebub and Leviathan sisters, we don't have much time," Augustus said, frowning. "What's your answer, Hiro?"

Seeing that he still didn't respond, she continued.

"If you doubt my strength as the ruler of the Land of Oz, you may attack me."

"But if you lose-"

"You will join my Land of Oz."

After a brief pause, Augustus added, confidence nearly overflowing.

As if her defeat wasn't even a possibility.
