----------------------------------------------------------

For Grayfia, the situation felt strangely unreal.

It was like an ordinary employee who had worked diligently for decades suddenly discovering that her boss-Lucifer-had become a classmate, a neighbor, or a distant relative she barely knew.

Or worse.

A complete stranger.

Lucifer's voice hadn't changed.

Nor his personality, habits, or way of handling matters.

Yet for Grayfia-the long-serving maid and subordinate-the dissonance between perception and reality created an unmistakable sense of discomfort.

"Since that's the case."

After receiving the answer he wanted, Hiro looked at the silver-haired devil and continued calmly.

"As a maid who serves Lucifer, are you still anxious to leave?"

"To leave my side. To leave this Lucifer."

Grayfia's expression shifted repeatedly.

Hesitation.

Instinct.

And finally-

Submission.

She followed her intuition, and the faint but unmistakable "Lucifer" aura emanating from Hiro.

Straightening her posture, Grayfia stepped back half a pace and bowed slightly. The silver-gray braid hanging to her hips swayed gently.

"No."

"Please allow me to remain by your side."

Perfect.

A multilingual, top-tier maid acquired.

Hiro nodded, a thoroughly satisfied smile appearing on his face.

Back in the High School DxD world, before obtaining Mental Out Lv5, every encounter with Grayfia had required him to suppress improper thoughts to avoid being noticed-and erased-by this terrifying figure.

It had been deeply frustrating.

Now, things were different.

Grayfia was his maid.

And judging purely by strength, she no longer seemed to be at the Maou level.

Which meant-

She couldn't resist the rank of his Mental Out.

Although the Mental Out ability had been significantly enhanced after installing the Divine Attribute - Lucifer, and might even work on a peak Grayfia...

There was no way to verify that right now.

So for the time being-

He could indulge freely.

Consider it compensation.

Revenge.

Reasonable. Fair.

With that settled, Hiro casually listened to Grayfia's thoughts while turning and walking toward a quiet, secluded café with very few customers.

"Grayfia."

"Tell me what you've experienced since arriving in this world."

"And how long you've been here."

So... this truly isn't the original world.

Grayfia followed behind him, her thoughts laid bare under the Lucifer attribute's influence.

No wonder human technology had advanced so far.

No wonder the Norse gods, Greek gods, and Kyoto Youkai had vanished completely.

And if Lord Lucifer already knew all of this-

Did that mean he was the reincarnation of the first Lucifer?

Reborn in this alternate world?

Hiro captured every stray thought cleanly.

But for the sake of future enjoyment, he said nothing, pretending complete ignorance.

"I arrived in this world one week ago."

Grayfia spoke softly as she followed.

"In that time, I've traveled through most countries on this planet."

"But I found no information related to the Three Factions, other pantheons, or supernatural powers."

Before long, they reached a corner table inside the café.

At Hiro's insistence, Grayfia sat across from him.

"During that time," Hiro asked, "did you encounter any Heretic Gods?"

"Heretic Gods?"

Under his gaze, Grayfia showed clear confusion.

"No. I haven't encountered any beings that could be classified as 'gods.'"

"If I had, I might have learned the truth about this alternate world from them."

Half the globe traveled.

Not a single Heretic God encountered.

Should I say you're lucky... or unlucky?

Hiro nodded silently, keeping the thought to himself.

With Grayfia's current strength, unless she ran into war gods like Verethragna or Athena, she actually had a high chance of slaying one and becoming a Campione.

But-

That wasn't guaranteed.

There was no precedent.

Who knew whether Pandora would even acknowledge a devil as a "daughter" after godslaying?

What if Pandora simply mistook her for a Heretic God and refused reincarnation?

That would mean Grayfia was used for free.

Hiro fell silent.

After hesitating for a moment, Grayfia finally gathered her courage.

"Um... Lord Lucifer..."

Tsk.

Calling a human "Lord Lucifer" still feels incredibly awkward.

The thought was captured instantly.

"Hm?"

Hiro glanced at her troubled expression and responded calmly, pretending he hadn't heard the disrespectful inner comment.

Worst case-

He could always apply a small punishment later.

"May I ask... how can I return to the original world?"

Grayfia clenched her hands lightly.

"The devil race is currently in the midst of civil war."

"To be honest, without me, the Maou-aligned devils cannot stand against the rebels."

"Defeat is only a matter of time."

"The Lucifer family may survive-but the Lucifer, Leviathan, and other Maou lineages are in grave danger."

Surely that should matter to Lord Lucifer... at least a little.

After finishing, Grayfia looked directly at Hiro, her gaze urgent and barely restrained.

"If you want to return."

Hiro shrugged casually under her stare.

"For existences other than myself-like you, or the two before-you need a special item."

"But unfortunately."

"The last one was already consumed by the previous person."

"For now, I have no way to send you back."

His tone remained calm.

Indifferent.

As if he were discussing something entirely trivial.
