Peter woke up early. He didn't even wait for Ben to come and give him a motivational speech. This shocked May, who woke up to see Peter in the kitchen cooking and singing, something he'd never done before.
"The boy has run mad." Ben whispered behind her, as they spied on him.
Peter picked his bag, and for the first time in years, he didn't miss the school bus. The driver stared at him like he had just seen a dead man. But Peter ignored everything. He was still celebrating over his miraculous pull, he didn't even hear Flash's comments and taunts.
He got to school and saw Carla chatting with her friends. Seeing her, all his confidence melted and he decided to just pass quietly, and thankfully she didn't notice him.
He sat down in class and brought out a textbook. He opened it but a hand closed it.
"Are you avoiding me Peter?" Carla asked, standing in front of him, her hand on his textbook.
"Umm...good morning Carla." He whispered looking away.
"Gosh I can't get mad at you when you look so cute!" She said, pinching his cheek.
"Stop.." Peter quietly protested, and this awarded him a laugh from Carla. She patted his head and sat next to him.
"So you're ready for our date today?" She asked, her head in her palms.
"Yes I am. Are you?" He asked, looking directly at her, an action that stunned her. She was used to him being shy, and she was surprised to see him look her in the eye.
"Oh um—yeah! Sure I am." She replied, her cheeks red.
"Settle down class." A teacher said, walking into the class. "Our school will be visiting Oscorp for a science excursion and also for sight seeing next week. There you all will learn different things, and if you're lucky some of you might be accepted into the internship programme. So prepare. Now into today's lesson." The teacher announced, and soon began teaching.
But Peter couldn't focus, his mind wandered from his date with Carla to the Oscorp trip. He couldn't believe it, Oscorp seemed like a place worthy only for the rich and genius. Not for dumb commoners like himself. But he was really glad he could even get a chance to be an intern.
The bell rang signifying the end of the class, and Peter stood up to leave when a heavy shove sent him to the ground. He heard Flash and his goons laughing behind him, throwing insults at him too.
Peter frowned as he stood up, cleaning his shirt.
'I knew my life could never be perfect.' Peter thought to himself, as he walked to the toilet. On his way there, he saw Harry hiding in a corner, making a call. His voice was hushed and hurried, indicating that it was not a friendly situation. Peter shook his head and continued walking. This wasn't the first time he had seen this, nor was it the second. But Harry always refused to tell him what it was all about, so he just decided to ignore. Like a flash school had closed, and Peter ran home, hurrying to prepare for the date with Carla.
"Uncle Ben I need your help!" Peter said, walking hurriedly into the house. Ben turned to look at him, reducing the volume of the TV.
"Were you caught doing drugs—"
"Ben Parker!" May yelled, shoving her elbow into his stomach. "Peter dear, what is it?"
"I have a date with this girl and i don't know what to wear!" Peter said without a pause.
"Now now, slow down tiger. What made you think coming to meet an ex soldier was the best idea?" Ben asked, chuckling a little.
"Well, I mean you must've surely gone on dates when you were my age." Peter replied, scratching the back of his head.
"Ah yes Peter. Ben was a lady's magnet, no girl could resist his charm." May said, patting Ben's head. "Come on Ben, go help the kid. Teach him some of your moves."
Ben groaned and stood up, following Peter to his room.
"So tell me, who is this girl?" Ben asked, looking at Peter's closet.
"Her name is Carla Stacy, she's in my class." Peter briefly explained, taking off his shirt.
Ben helped Peter pick what to wear, and he and May taught him some dance moves.
"It adds to your rizz." Ben said with a wink.
"Please don't ever use that word again." Peter said shaking his head.

He walked into the restaurant and noticed that Carla wasn't there yet. He sighed and walked to a table, where he rehearsed what he was going to say. Soon Carla walked in and spotted him. She waved and walked towards him.
"You look different." She mused, eyeing him. He wore a long sleeve shirt and a blue jacket, followed by a sleek black trouser and sneakers.
"Yeah my uncle helped me." Peter replied chuckling a little.
*Well I must say your uncle was quite the taste." Carla said, sitting down with a smile.
"Well you look pretty, as usual." Peter replied with a smile of his own. She wore a simple black dress and some fancy looking heels.
"Thanks Peter. But what do you mean by 'as usual'?" She asked, leaning slightly.
"I mean you're always pretty." Peter said, no stuttering or shaky voice. This shocked Carla a lot. Was the shy boy stuff all an act? But she didn't know that his uncle had also taught him that.
"Complimenting a woman with a straight face means that your compliment is genuine. And if you wanna get her, make it a habit." He remembered Ben say.
'God bless you uncle Ben!' Peter thought to himself, grinning internally.
They placed their orders and soon began eating. They talked about everything and nothing, both getting to know more about each other.
Petet learnt that Carla had an elder sister called Gwen who was currently schooling abroad. He told her the little he knew about his family too, but it seemed to dampen the mood so he quickly changed the topic.
"You're an amazing person Peter," Carla said after a brief silence,"I mean we've attended the same schools for years and I didn't even know this much about you."
"Well I never had good social skills so I guess that's why..." Peter said , his voice trailing off as he looked outside through the glass wall.
"What the fuck!" He suddenly yelled standing up. Carla looked outside too and saw a building on fire. She frowned as she saw Peter take off his jacket.
"Peter what are you doing?" She asked, alarmed.
"I have to go help! People could be inside." He replied, walking towards the door.
Carla ran after him, but he had already sprinted outside.
"Somebody help! My baby's inside!" A woman screamed, crying. Fire department hadn't arrived yet, and the building was in a terrible condition.
Carla grabbed Peter's hand as he was about to run. He looked at her, and saw her tearing up.
"If you die I won't forgive you." She warned, and Peter nodded in response. He ran inside the building, dodging falling wood.
He heard the sound of a baby crying, and he ran towards the direction of the cry.
It was coming from a room that was blocked off by a wall of fire. Peter gritted his teeth and jumped into the fire, landing at the other side, successfully passing the fire wall. He kicked the door open, and saw a little girl crying in a corner.
"Hey! Hey! What's your name girl?" He asked, carefully running towards her.
"N-Nina.." she replied sobbing.
"Alright Nina, my name is Peter, and I'll save you ok?"
She replied with a nod.
Peter picked her up, and soon he heard voices talking over a loud microphone. But he couldn't hear a thing they said, but when he looked down, the window, he saw firefighters. They set up a large orange object that looked really soft. It seemed like they wanted him to jump down. He smiled at Nina as he showed her the object, indicating that they were going to be fine. But then all of a sudden the fire grew and seemed to be moving towards them. Peter looked at the window and noticed how small it was. If he were to try and jump, he won't be quick enough and the fire would consume them both.
"Nina, do you trust me?" He asked out of the blue, making the little girl frown.
"What?" She asked confused, but he didn't give her a chance to comprehend the situation as he tossed her out of the window. She landed safely and was immediately attended to. Now it was time for Peter to jump.
Carla bit her fingers anxiously as she waited for Peter to jump.
BOOM! The building exploded
"No!! Peter!!" Carla screamed, running towards it. But she was stopped by the fire fighters. But to the surprise of everyone, Peter jumped out of the building via a broken wall (thanks to the explosion), looking like a superhero. He even hit a superhero landing on the orange object, earning him cheers.
He was immediately picked up by a hefty man, tossed on a stretcher, and was carried into the ambulance, Carla hot on their heels.
She followed them and was about entering the ambulance when she was stopped.
"Umm lady we can't really—"
"He's my boyfriend allow me go with him!" Carla said, still crying. The nurse looked at Peter and he nodded at her. Carla followed them to the hospital, but had to wait in the hallway (to this she silently agreed and didn't argue), while the doctors attended to Peter. She stood up as a doctor walked out, smiling at her.
"Ms Stacy, you're here. Your boyfriend is well and you can go see him. He is a true hero."
Carla rushed into Peter's room and saw him lying down on the bed, his eyes looking lost.
She hugged him tightly, not wanting to let go for even a second.
"You idiot!" She kept on muttering, still hugging him.
"Carla...."
"What if you had died! What do you think would've happened to me!" She screamed at him, crying heavily.
"Carla, it's okay. The doctor said I'll be fine. They just need to run their tests to see if all that smoke had any effect. And what did you mean by I'm your boyfriend?" Peter asked, a little smile on his face. Carla's cheeks went red as she buried her face in his chest.
"I thought you wouldn't mind....." She muttered, her voice muffled.
"Carla." Peter called, his voice sounding suddenly serious, "Would you be my girlfriend?"
Carla nodded, still burying her face in his chest.
"You're really brave Peter." Carla said, finally raising up her head. "You saved a total stranger without thinking twice."
"My uncle Ben said, if you have the power to help someone, then you are supposed to help them. And that's what I did." Peter replied, staring at the ceiling. Suddenly the door burst open, and May came running in. She hugged Peter even tighter than Carla did.
"Oh my petey bear, I'm so glad you're safe!" May cried.
"Seems like you want to complete the mission the fire failed. Please don't kill the boy." Ben said, calmly walking in. May let go of Peter, and that's when she noticed Carla.
"Hello there young lady. I'm guessing you're Peter's date." May said with a motherly smile.
Carla nodded and muttered a greeting.
"I'm pretty sure you were worried, thanks for taking care of Peter." May continued, still smiling at her.
"Worried? That's an understatement. She cried her eyes out." Peter chipped in.
"Well I guess we've found the younger version of you May." Ben said, laughing.
Carla smiled as she watched them, the sight warming her heart.
The doctor came in, ran some tests, said some bullshit and told them that Peter was good to go. Ben grabbed May and said they had to go, even though she protested and insisted on going with Peter.
Ben looked back as they left, nodding at Peter. Peter nodded back at him.
'God bless you uncle Ben!' he screamed in his heart.
Peter walked out of the hospital with Carla, both of them holding hands.
"Thanks for staying with me Carla." Peter said, looking at the sky.
"It's the least I can do." She replied, smiling at him. They got to her house and stood, talking for a while. The cool evening wind blew, creating a cool atmosphere. Peter stepped forward and gave her a kiss on the lips, and then he went home.
He could barely hide his excitement when he got home, as he jumped from one place to the other.
"Life is so fucking good!" He said, jumping on his bed and falling asleep.
