Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine: Electro (3)

Three days had passed, and Electro hadn't attacked. The city's electricity was back in action, though everyone slept with one eye opened.

Carla stared at Peter as he walked into the cafeteria with MJ and Harry. She had noticed the severe injuries he was hiding, the cuts on his face, and how he winced anytime some bumped into him.

It was no longer something she could overlook, and she decided to confront him about it.

Peter laughed at a joke MJ said, and Carla walked in on them.

"Peter, we need to talk. Now." Carla said, a frown on her face.

Harry whistled, and MJ looked at her, confused. Peter gulped and stood up, following Carla to the rooftop.

"Peter what the hell is going on!" Carla yelled, pointing at his body.

"Umm...what are you talking about?"

"You Peter! YOU! Every day you look like you've been secretly training with John Cena! You never tell me what's going on, you always brush me off."

"Carla it's not that simple."

"Here we go again! It's never simple with you Peter!"

"Please just try and understand me—"

"I've been trying to but you aren't making any sense!"

He didn't respond,he just stood looking at her. He wanted to tell her everything, but he knew that that'll put her in danger's way. And he didn't want that.

She just stormed off, leaving him alone.

Peter's body wanted him to run after her and explain everything, but he didn't.

His phone buzzed, it was a message from Anna.

*Meet me at the WEB after school.*

The WEB was what Anna called her basement, or his new HQ.

Peter replied with a thumbs up, and he put his phone in his pocket. The consequences of his decision to be a hero were greater than he expected. It burdened his heart everyday, lieing to aunt May, always giving Carla pointless excuses, he didn't know how long he could keep up.

🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️

Peter walked to the WEB. There he saw Anna sitting, scribbling some things on a book.

"Umm no offence here Anna but don't you have a job?" Peter asked, taking a sip of his juice.

"I am part-time lecturer at Horizon." Anna said, still scribbling.

Peter choked on his juice, coughing violently.

"Did you just say Horizon!" Peter yelled, still surprised.

Horizon Highschool was one of the best schools in the city.

It was a place for the rich and influential, not for ordinary citizens.

"How did you even get a job there?"

"My boyfriend pulled some strings." She replied, walking towards a computer.

Her statement made Peter frown slightly. She had mentioned her boyfriend before, and Peter was curious.

"Who the hell is your boyfriend?"

"Otto Octavius."

Peter dropped his juice box.

His mouth was hanging and his eyes were wide in shock.

"No way."

"Peter, are you okay?"

"Otto Octavius! He is literally the smartest man to walk New York! Why didn't you tell me this earlier? Now everything's adding up! The seemingly unlimited budget! He was sponsoring us all this while!"

"Peter it's not a big deal. Now, I have something important to show you." She said walking towards something that was covered with a white sheet. She removed the temporal veil and Peter gasped in shock.

It was a blue suit, with white lenses as the eyes, and a black Spider symbol. The symbol looked like it was carved out of a thunder bolt.

"I present to you, the Elecro suit!" Anna said, vocalising a dramatic tune.

"It's amazing Anna! I don't even know what to—"

"Well you can start by putting it on." She interrupted, gesturing to the costume.

Peter did exactly that, and he moved his hands around, testing the flexibility.

"I also added some little..upgrades.The symbol isn't just ornamental flair or a flashy badge of recognition. It's actually a compact electromechanical apparatus engineered to absorb and dissipate Electro's blasts. Think of it as a hybrid between a Faraday cage and a quantum capacitor. Inside, you've got layers of nano-ceramic dielectric plates, a superconductive flux stabilizer, and a piezoelectric lattice that converts incoming electrical energy into harmless mechanical vibrations. The outer emblem channels the charge into a micro-tesla dampening coil, which then shunts excess energy into a graphene-based energy sink. So when Electro unleashes a lightning strike, the symbol doesn't just glow—it actively gulps down the voltage like a hungry battery, leaving you standing there cool as a cucumber while the electrons get neutralized." Anna explained, and Peter just nodded like he was receiving a lecture.

"That's amazing Anna! I don't even know if I could've thought of that."

"That's not all." She pressed some buttons on her computer, and Peter's lense had a blue colour. It suddenly looked like a game, showing him his current location, and a red symbol, which showed the WEBs location too.

"I don't even know what to say anymore."

"You're amazed and I'm really awesome." Anna said.

Peter silently wondered why she actually wanted to absorb Electro's electricity, amd she seemed to notice his confusion.

"I don't just want this suit to be the Electro suit because you used it to defeat Electro, but I want you to be able to use Electro's abilities. Like imagine if we could somehow add some electricity to you webs—"

"Bio electric webbing? Now that's sick —" he was interrupted when a red light glowed from his lense, though it was visible to only him.

"Right on time. Electro's acting up, you gotta go now!"

Peter exited the WEB and swung to Electro's location, following the map on his HUD. It was easier than just aimlessly swinging until he saw an explosion.

Spiderman landed and hit his pose, aura farming with his new costume.

"Alright Spidey we see the fit!" Someone shouted from a corner.

Electro noticed Spiderman and grinned.

"Ready for another beating? Cuz this might be your last!" Electro taunted, feeling confident and proud.

"Yeah you're right, this will be our last battle. Because your going down!"

"Big talk from a guy who got beaten up twice. I can see that your costume is given you confidence, but sorry to burst your bubble, confidence can't help you here!" Electro barked, charging towards Spiderman. He sent his usual bolts and to his surprise Spiderman didn't bother dodging. His eyes widened when he saw that Spiderman's costume had absorbed his attack.

A strong punch knocked him out of his daze as he flew backwards, crashing into a wall.

Spiderman web zipped towards him and planted a heavy kick in his chest, sending the villain flying deeper into the wall. Electro coughed as he struggled to stand. He couldn't believe it! Spiderman was beating him!

He was still in shock when a large object was slammed on his head, he didn't even have the time to think about what hit him, as a web line hit his chest, lifted him up, spun him around, ams slammed him on the ground.

The sky became even darker as bolts rained down from the sky.

Spiderman didn't bother dodging but was taken aback when one hit him in the chest. The force sent him flying and he crashed into a large truck.

"He is attacking with all he got, so even if you don't feel the shock, you'll feel the pain from the blow." Anna's voice said, talking from a communication device that was in his suit.

"And you're just telling me this!" Spiderman replied, twisting his body, dodging a bolt. As he straightened himself, Electro's hand grabbed his neck and tossed him like a rag doll. He hit a strong metal pole, his head banging on the iron. He hadn't even landed when a strong force hit his chest, causing him to cough out some blood. As he fell, Electro appeared next to him and gave him a kick in the stomach. He grabbed the hero's head, andd violently banged it on the floor.

Anna watched from the camera in Peter's lenses, though the video was now distorted due to the attacks. She bit her fingers and anxiously watched, waiting to see if Spiderman was alive.

Electro scoffed and turned to leave, but Spiderman suddenly grabbed his leg and pulled hard, causing the unsuspecting Electro to fall.

A stomp on his chest followed, and them next thing he knew Spiderman tossed him to an abandoned building.

BANG!

A large metal rod hot Electro's head, and he fell to his knees. His skin flickered, from violent blue to that of a regular person. Desperate, Electro disappeared.

"He's heading to the Power Grid! If he gets there he'll bw unstoppable!" Anna's panicked voice spoke.

"I hear you!" Spiderman replied, as he web zipped out of the building, shooting forward like a rocket.

The battle was far from over, instead it felt like it was just starting.
