When Lilian woke again, Dante was no longer beside her. He stood by the window in a white shirt and dark trousers, looking every bit the composed prince as he read something on his phone. The morning sunlight which was filtered through heavy curtains, painted him in shades of gold and shadow.
She sat up, then felt the pleasant soreness between her thighs and the lingering warmth from Dante's venom, and she knew a few moments ago was very, very real.
"Hey," he said without looking up. "I've ordered breakfast. It should be here any minute."
She eyed him. "You're very dressed for someone who had a naked woman in the bed."
Dante finally looked at her, and the red glow flashed in his dark eyes. "If I stayed in this bed with you, we wouldn't make it for any of the responsibilities we both have today."
"Would that be so bad?" Lilian asked, surprised by her own boldness.
