Chapter 1 - Prologue

"Supreme Slash!"

BANG-!

A brilliant golden arc of light descended upon the desolute battlefield, emanating from an extremely expensive-looking sword made out what seemed like pure celestial gold.

An devastating explosion of light and heat erupted from the point of contact, nearly blinding the surviving soldiers on the battlefield and forcing theme to shield their eyes from the explosion. As the light died down, the soldiers finally saw the cause of the explosion.

A man gilded in golden armour descended from the sky, two angelic wing-like constructs of light floating behind him.

On closer inspection, he seemed less like a full-grown man and more like a late teenager.

Eighteen years to be exact.

His face was the epitome of masculine beauty. The kind of face that made most girls faint on sight. Yet his gaze was hardened into an uneasy grimace as he stared into the massive cloud of dust raised from his earlier attack.

A soldier shouted excitedly in recognition of the boy.

"Everyone, it's the Hero Reymiel!"

"Reymiel?! We're saved!"

"With him here, the demon king's army is toast."

The soldiers below Bagan to shed years of relief at Reymiel's presence.

That was just how much of a symbol he was.

Reymiel Castreed.

The Hero of Light.

But their hopes were dashed just as quickly as a dark chuckle rang out from within the dust cloud.

"Hmm... Supreme...slash? That was supreme? You sure have gone softer, Rey."

A crimson wave erupted from within the mist, clearing the thick haze instantly. There a red-haired boy seemingly the same age as the Hero stood calmly in the centre of a molten crater crackling with golden lightning.

He was dressed in a black suit with a high collared cloak but wore a crimson scarf wrapped around his neck.

There was not a speck of dust or bruise on him as he stared at Reymiel for a bit before closing his eyes for a second. When he opened them, they were crimson with hints of violet at the edges.

An immense aura of bloodlust erupted from him, forcing blood to spurt out of the orifices of the weaker soldiers and the strongest to stagger and nearly fall to their knees.

A drop of blood slid slowly out of Reymiel's nose before being evaporated with his intent.

A low...almost disappointed sigh resounded across the still battlefield before he spoke again.

"Rey. Leave."

Reymiel shook his head, a hint of melancholy surfacing before being replaced with a cold gaze as he pointed his blade at the crimson haired boy.

"No, Damon. I can't leave you to do as you wish. You have already caused enough chaos in this world, you must be stopped."

Damon sighed heavily before locking eyes with Reymiel.

"Rey, is this your final answer?"

Reymiel responded with a surge of golden energy erupting outward and infusing into his blade, making it pulse with a dangerous, celestial light.

"FINALLY!"

A loud voice echoed all through the apartment complex, earning mumbled curses from the other occupants but considering who was shouting, they couldn't be more bothered.

A green-haired boy stood triumphantly on his beat-up desk chair yelling into the ceiling with an unaturally wide grin like he'd just won the lottery.

He dramatically pressed the update button on his PC and less than thirty seconds later, two notifications rang on his phone.

One was an update for a chapter of the book he just wrote "Deadbeat demon Slayer" which was over five hundred chapters.

And the second.

An alert of one thousand and one dollars.

He grinned maliciously as he looked up a particular account on the writing app and sent a message.

[Eldritch Kitchen]: Cough it up guys.

Soon he received a message.

Then another.

And another.

[Cat_slayer: WTF man?!]

[Underwears_stink: FUCK YOU!!!]

[Horned_goat: Fuck it, Kichl! If I ever find you, I'll strangle you with my two hands.]

[Pinkachu: Eldritch-san, I knew you could do it.]

Eldritch Kitchen—or as horned_goat called him—Kich sneered as he looked at his phone and, as expected, three more pop-ups appeared on his phone.

Fifty dollars.

A hundred dollars.

One hundred and thirty one dollars.

In total, he had started the day with an extra one thousand, two hundred and eighty three dollars in his account.

But there was a particular person that was currently offline, no doubt sulking somewhere after having to drop that much money.

[Remuru_storm]

A fellow writer who especially liked to gloat about his background and treated the others like shit for some reason.

'But now that I won the bet...'

"Muahahahaha, take that, you dumbass."

RIIIIIING~

"Uh? What's this?"

[9:02 AM]

"Wait, today's... MONDAY?!"

"You're late again, Rael."

"Sorry sir." Rael bowed deeply and scooted over to his seat under the intense glare of his homeroom teacher's foreh- ahem- eyes.

He spotted a boy half-sleeping on the desk next to his with his eyes following him.

"Yo, Adrian. How's the grind going?" He said casually as he waved at the boy, smirking triumphantly.

The boy's right eye twitched, a vein momentarily popping on his forehead before he forced it down with a long sigh.

"So fucker, mind telling me how you wrote one hundred chapters in a week. Not even AI writes that fast."

Rael shrugged smugly and muttered.

"Trade secret."

"Fuck you."

"Hmm? Didn't know you were gay."

"Fuck off."

Suddenly, they simultaneously felt a chill up their spine as their homeroom teacher was now glaring at them as class had begun. Just as they were about to start listening to an hour-long lecture on angles, a cold, mechanical yet...oddly feminine voice rang out, causing everyone to go silent.

While the others were confused and in disbelief, Rael and Adrian stole a quick glance at each other before immediately bolting out the window as soon as they saw runes on the floor.

"FUCK NO!" They shouted in unison as they jumped from the third floor.

"Wait..." Adrian suddenly realised.

"This is the third floor." Rael completed.

Suddenly, Adrian disappeared in a flash of light.

"Phew, dodged that."

HONK-

"Eh?"

BANG-!

Right before Rael hit the ground, he met face to face with the maker of heroes.

Truck-kun himself
