Chapter 47 - Chapter 60: Human Skin

Qian Shanxue did not bother to chase after them.

After all, being splashed with dog urine from midair—having a bad temper afterward was perfectly understandable.

If it had been her…

Just imagining it made her shiver.

"That beast really is despicable—urinating from the sky…"Qian Shanxue felt that from now on, she would have to be extra cautious about what was above her.If she were careless even once… she might vomit herself to death.

Watching Tong Guan's figure disappear into the distance, her expression turned cold.

She barked at the surrounding disciples,"What are all of you standing around for? Do you have nothing better to do? Disperse!"

Under her reprimand, the disciples left while whispering among themselves.

Fei Tianyun had already been taken away by others to receive treatment.

As they left, many male disciples could not help but glance back at Qian Shanxue repeatedly, their eyes filled with undisguised heat.

Soon, only Qian Shanxue and the couple Wu Lian and Huang Ren remained.

"Junior Sister Wu," Qian Shanxue said calmly,"I think we need to talk."

"Alright," Wu Lian agreed immediately. She had no other choice anyway.

Not long after, Wu Lian carried Huang Ren into a small room behind the kitchen—a place where their family usually rested.

"Alright," Qian Shanxue said, frowning at the cramped, dim room,"I don't have much time. Tell me everything that happened, from beginning to end."

Wu Lian explained the entire sequence of events, anger evident in her voice.

"My husband and I fed that beast for nearly a year back then. I never imagined it would suddenly go mad and savagely bite Huang Ren."

"Went mad?"Qian Shanxue narrowed her eyes thoughtfully."I find that white dog quite sharp-minded—and extremely vengeful."

Otherwise, it would not have urinated from midair directly onto Tong Guan's head.

Something must have happened in between.

After a moment of contemplation, her gaze shifted to Huang Ren.Her voice became indifferent.

"I imagine Junior Brother Huang can clear things up for me, yes?"

"Huh?"Wu Lian hurriedly turned to look at her husband.

Huang Ren lay motionless on the bed, eyes tightly shut, looking as though he were still unconscious.

"If you keep pretending," Qian Shanxue said calmly,"I'll dig out your eyeballs and make sure you never open them again."

Huang Ren shuddered violently.

"I—I…"He weakly opened his eyes, but did not dare look at Wu Lian.

"I don't have the patience to waste time here," Qian Shanxue said."Huang Ren, explain everything that happened between you and that white dog. Not a single detail omitted."

At some point, a three-inch-long white bone nail had appeared in her hand, its tip glowing with a cold, sinister light.

"If you hide even half a sentence, I'll make sure you experience a fate worse than death."

Cold sweat poured down Huang Ren's body.

He knew very well how terrifying this woman was.

In a weak, remorseful voice, he confessed everything—his visit to Wild Dog Cave to pass information, and how Man Xiong Mu and Wu Tian later confronted him.

After hearing it all, Qian Shanxue immediately grasped the situation.

"So Tong Guan listened to this idiot and wanted to take the white dog from Man Xiong Mu—only to kick an iron plate."

"As for what happened today, it's obvious. The white dog came to take revenge on Huang Ren."

She quickly sorted through the entire cause and effect, then sneered at Huang Ren.

"You really brought this upon yourself."

"You'll never know what kind of existence you offended—nor will you ever know what kind of opportunity you missed."

Qian Shanxue had no interest in wasting another word on this useless man.

Normally, she would not even bother investigating the affairs of ordinary disciples, but this incident involved the being within the forbidden grounds.

She had to be certain.

Otherwise, accidentally touching some taboo would only bring trouble upon herself.

"From this moment on," she said coldly,"your duties at the dining hall are revoked."

"You have three days to leave Skull Mountain."

Without giving the couple any chance to respond, she wrapped herself in red silk and departed in a streak of crimson light.

Huang Ren lay on the bed, nervously clenching his remaining hand.

The room fell into complete silence—so quiet that even breathing and heartbeats were painfully clear.

He did not dare face Wu Lian, but under the suffocating pressure, he finally struggled upright with one arm and turned to look at her.

Wu Lian's face was pale. She stood frozen in place, as if her soul had left her body.

"W-wife… what's wrong?""Please don't scare me…"

Panicking, Huang Ren ignored his injuries and weakness, struggling out of bed.

He stumbled and fell, smashing his face against the ground.

Ignoring his own misery, he crawled toward Wu Lian and reached for her hand.

"Don't touch me!"

Wu Lian screamed sharply, flinging his hand away.

Only then did her tears finally burst forth.

"Huang Ren… I really misjudged you."

"You're impressive. Truly impressive."

"I'm sorry… I really didn't expect this," Huang Ren sobbed."I only wanted to earn more merit points. I never imagined it would turn out like this…"

"Hahaha—so you didn't expect White Dragon to be Senior Brother Man Xiong's disciple?"Wu Lian laughed through her tears."You didn't expect it had someone backing it, right?"

"Huang Ren, did you think it was just a beast? That as long as you didn't strike personally, its life or death had nothing to do with you?"

"Even beating a dog requires looking at its master. We finally built a connection with Senior Brother Man Xiong—and you ruined it for a handful of merit points."

"Senior Sister Qian is right to make us leave. Otherwise, sooner or later you'd bring down a catastrophe."

"If you die, so be it. But if you drag Xia'er down with you—I'll never forgive you, even as a ghost."

She stood up slowly and began packing their belongings.

"Once your injuries heal, we'll go our separate ways."

"No! Please don't…"Huang Ren collapsed to his knees, crying uncontrollably."I was wrong. I truly was."

"There's nothing more to say," Wu Lian replied coldly, not even looking at him.

"For Xia'er's sake…" Huang Ren whispered.

"Get lost!"

Wu Lian slapped him hard, swelling half his face instantly.

"You don't deserve to mention Xia'er."

She took a deep breath and never looked at him again.

Meanwhile, Man Xiong Mu had already taken Wu Tian away from the mountain, riding a black gale through the sky toward the rear of Skull Mountain.

"You really are a troublesome dog," Man Xiong Mu transmitted helplessly."To pull something like that…"

"I can't beat him yet," Wu Tian replied smugly,"but I have powerful backing. If I can't beat him, I can at least disgust him."

"Who told him to wander in front of me today?"

Wu Tian felt thoroughly satisfied.

"Master, where are we going?"

Man Xiong Mu shook his head, unable to do anything about the dog's vengeful temperament.

Tong Guan had it coming anyway. If he dared provoke Wu Tian again in the future, he would probably lose his life.

"You've started circulating qi now, which means you can refine beast garments," Man Xiong Mu said.

"The Ruyi Whip you're refining has an option that suits you extremely well."

"That would be a python demon.Refine its flesh and skin into beast armor.Once wrapped around your Ruyi Whip, it can transform into a giant python—useful for scouting, night watch, and protection."

"Additionally, a few days ago I discovered a drowned infant corpse in a cold pool."

"The aptitude is exceptional. Although we lack the Sect Master lineage's inheritance, it would still be quite useful for you."

"Either option works. I'll take you to see them first."

"…Master," Wu Tian said hesitantly, scalp tingling,"are you saying… I might refine human skin?"

"Let's go take a look first," Man Xiong Mu replied calmly.

A black gale swept through the air—

and soon vanished without a trace.
