Chapter 81 - Engagement

The engagement in Northern culture was also called Blood Exchange, coming directly from the way it was done. Both partners would exchange each other's blood and keep it close to themselves all the time.

It was said that through this ritual they could become closer to each other. Many didn't believe it, but they still followed the traditions.

Ye Jun took Song Liangxue's hand in his, then gently made a cut on her palm with his blade. Instantly, deep blood oozed out from the wound, coloring the pale hand red.

Then he put one blood pendant in her palm and closed it into a fist. Song Liangxue didn't even flinch during the process, a soft smile playing on her lips clearly showing her happiness.

Song Ying began to sing a song which he couldn't quite understand, but he was familiar with it. He had heard it when his father married Ye Chen's mother. The memory was still clear in his mind.

'I won't let you spoil this wonderful moment.'
