Chapter 77 - Chapter 47: The Class Change Book

"So this is…"

Interesting.

Leo glanced around and confirmed that no one else was nearby. He immediately reached down and picked up the bag on the ground. His first instinct was actually to have Kelly open it for him.

After all, reality had already proven that Kelly's luck was absurdly powerful—so powerful that there was practically nothing she couldn't pull off with it.

However, perhaps because this was a different world, the moment Leo's hand touched the bag, a book appeared directly in his hand, not giving him any chance at all to summon a luck goddess.

But when Leo saw the title of the book in his hand, he couldn't help reading it out loud.

"Blood Energy Secret Art?"

He quickly stored it in his inventory and immediately checked its details.

Blood Energy Secret Art:

After learning this skill, the user can activate their blood energy and transform it into various weapons and powerful attacks. It greatly enhances physical speed, reaction time, and defense, and also allows the user to absorb the blood of others to heal their own body. The skill also includes methods for strengthening one's blood energy, as well as techniques for absorbing the blood of powerful individuals to further enhance it.

After learning, health regeneration speed increases by 25%. During attacks, the user may choose whether to have a 2% chance to inflict a bleeding effect based on the damage dealt and the hit location. The bleeding effect varies in severity and cannot be removed in a short time.

Note: Using this skill carries a chance of causing severe conditions such as AIDS, leukemia, cerebral thrombosis, heart attacks, brain hemorrhage, capillary rupture, other cardiovascular diseases, endocrine disorders, and organ failure.

Note 2: Because there is no Kazan Curse, compared to berserkers of this world, most berserk-related frenzy effects are lost. The user will not completely lose rationality, but what a hot-blooded person might do is still unpredictable.

Note 3: This is not a berserker class change book, but to outsiders, anyone who has mastered this technique is no different from a berserker.

Note 4: Strictly speaking, this is merely a technique for mobilizing, manipulating, and controlling the power within blood, so it does not prevent the use of other types of power.

Unless your blood energy becomes absurdly strong.

Note 5: After learning this skill, Cross Slash and Blood Frenzy are automatically learned.

Note 6: This really is not a berserker class change book.

"..."

Isn't this literally a berserker class change book?!

Leo genuinely wanted to complain out loud. The associated skills, the effects—this was unmistakably the berserker skill set of this world!

How was this supposed to have nothing to do with berserkers?!

"So that guy was actually a berserker?"

Leo glanced at the corpse on the ground but had no intention of looking any longer. He also had no plan to use the skill book right away—the unforgettable, soul-searing pain from using a skill book last time was still fresh in his memory.

Instead, he immediately chased after Rosh.

The one lying here was unquestionably dead. His shotgun had been aimed straight at the man's heart, and now even from behind, the shattered ribs were visible. There was no chance he could still move.

Maybe this magical world had such miracles—but certainly not for some back-alley thug.

As long as the other one was dealt with, this whole mess would be over.

Gun in hand, Leo quickly caught up to Rosh and arrived just in time to see her block the greatsword-wielding brute with two fire orbs. Without hesitation, Leo raised his weapon and pulled the trigger the instant Rosh dodged the sweeping strike of the massive blade.

Machine gun bullets streaked toward the enemy like meteors.

What shocked Leo was that the brute abruptly stopped in the moment Leo fired. In a bizarre motion, he raised his heavy greatsword to block his chest and head, intercepting the bullets aimed at his heart and skull.

But—

Leo's aim was terrible.

Only two or three bullets went where Leo intended, toward the head and heart. The rest tore into the man's torso and abdomen, bursting into countless sprays of blood.

"Damn it!"

The brute roared internally, staring at Leo in disbelief. He never imagined Leo to be such a terrifying marksman. Though he didn't understand what kind of weapon Leo was using, the sheer firing speed, psychological timing, and shooting instincts made him feel utterly defeated.

But—

"Then let's die together!"

Roaring in his mind, blood gushed from his wounds as he hurled his massive greatsword straight at Leo. Leo rolled sideways without hesitation, stowing the empty machine gun and drawing his revolver.

Six sharp gunshots echoed through the alley.

In the next moment, the brute—his body riddled with bullet holes—slumped against an equally perforated wall and slowly slid to the ground.

This time, no bloodstained loot bag appeared.

Leo took a deep breath, unsure whether to feel relieved or disappointed. He brushed the dust off his clothes, stood up, and looked toward Rosh.

"Thanks, Rosh."

If not for her warning and timely intervention, he would have been seriously injured.

Even though he carried plenty of medical supplies and wouldn't have died instantly, he would have ended up in an extremely dangerous situation—one that could very well have killed him.

"Hehe, it's nothing. You did treat me to a meal, after all!"

Rosh proudly patted her chest, feeling like she'd made a profit.

"I'll treat you to barbecue tonight. But… killing them here won't cause trouble, right?"

As Leo spoke, he glanced around. Nearby houses had wisely shut their doors and windows, showing no interest whatsoever in what had happened. Even on the nearby street, no one seemed to care.

"It really does look like you haven't been here long."

Rosh looked at Leo with surprise.

"As long as you're not killing people out on the main streets, the guards of Huttonmar won't interfere. Especially since this place is close to the city's sewer system."

She tilted her head and pointed with her delicate chin toward a tunnel not far away.

"That's the sewer entrance. As long as you don't harass civilians or commit large-scale slaughter, no one will care if a few more corpses show up here."

As she said this, her expression shifted, and she once again assumed a combat stance.

"However—while you don't need to worry about the authorities, you do need to watch out for their companions… and the hyenas here."

As her words fell, figures suddenly emerged from the previously empty alley—numerous people wrapped in chains and spikes. Leo tensed at first, but when he saw who was being escorted forward, he relaxed.

Because he recognized that person.
