My face was still burning.
Not the cute kind of blush. Not the shy kind.
The humiliating kind.
The kind that crawled up my neck like heat had claws, digging into my skin, spreading until even my ears felt like they were on fire. I could feel it… that awful, pulsing warmth sitting right under my skin, like my body had decided to betray me in the worst possible moment.
And he was still looking at me.
Draven didn't even try to hide it.
His gaze didn't move. Didn't soften. Didn't pretend not to notice. If anything, it got sharper. Like he was studying me. Like I was a reaction he was waiting to observe.
"Your face is so red," he said slowly, that lazy amusement dripping from his voice like honey laced with poison. "What were you thinking about?"
My throat tightened.
Say something. Anything.
