The moment the door slammed shut behind me, something inside me snapped.

I didn't even remember walking down the corridor. Didn't remember the elevator. Didn't remember the way people stared as I passed like a storm wrapped in heels and lipstick. Everything was loud and muffled at the same time, like my blood was roaring in my ears.

By the time I got to my office, I was already shaking.

The door slammed open so hard it bounced against the stopper.

I flung my bag.

Didn't even look where it landed. Didn't care. It hit something with a dull thud and slid across the floor, spilling everything I carried like the insides of me had been ripped open and thrown out too.

My chest was heaving.

And then it came out.

"That bitch!"

My voice cracked the air, sharp, ugly, loud enough that I knew people outside heard it. I didn't care. Let them hear. Let them choke on it.

"How dare she humiliate me?!"
