Chapter 83 - Chapter 83: Second Sun (2)

Huang Shi felt a burst of power within him, making him feel intoxicated; in fact, he was so happy he felt as if his entire body was floating.

The Third Level of the Nascent Profound Realm.

Huang Shi stared at the two suns inside of his body, bursting with power. One shone with golden flames, while the other crackled with violent crimson lightning.

Two suns, two different types of "Sunfyre Qi."

Huang Shi then looked towards the remaining seven suns within his body. They currently looked so faint and transparent that if it wasn't for the fact that the suns were a literal part of him, he wouldn't have noticed them at all. He focused on the third sun, the one nearest to his second crimson sun, and noticed something peculiar.

Hmm? It seems like I won't be able to unlock this sun in the next major cultivation level? But how is that possible? Hey, System, is there something wrong with how I'm cultivating the technique?

[Responding to host: The different suns are unlocked at different cultivation levels to ensure that the host does not suffer a cultivation backlash and his body and spiritual energy are able to handle the pressure of the next sun.]

Then when can I unlock the next sun?

[Responding to host: The third sun can be unlocked at the Earth Profound Realm.]

Alright, as long as it can still be unlocked, that's fine by me.

To be quite honest, Huang Shi also didn't want to acquire the next sun without sufficient preparation. In fact, what he did today was more of an insane gamble. He bet on the fact that the fleshy body cultivation technique the system gave him was the key to his second sun, and bet on the fact that the predecessor of his Calamity Lightning Sunfyre Body was the Azure Dragon Tyrant Body—which he had learned quite a bit about during his visit to the third level of the Information Hall.

As for his so-called enlightenment about the concept of calamity and its relationship to destruction, it was basically him randomly stabbing in the dark and unexpectedly getting a hit.

I definitely can't be so careless next time. Before the third sun is unlocked, I need a good enough understanding of the next type of Sunfyre to make sure that my enlightenment is sufficient enough to ignite the sun. Not to mention the resources… fuck.

Huang Shi gritted his teeth as he felt the pinch to his Scum Points when he realized how much he had spent.

Fucking 40,000 Scum Points for a breakthrough from the Elementary Profound Realm to the Nascent Profound Realm. If this is how much it costs in Scum Points to rise in the lower levels of cultivation, I can't even imagine how much it would cost once I reach the True Profound, Spirit Profound, Earth Profound, and even higher levels of cultivation.

I'm so damn screwed...

Huang Shi felt like he was about to cry, as he started to feel like his heavenly physique was more of a burden rather than a boon.

[Responding to host: It typically requires more cultivation resources to breakthrough when a sun is unlocked. At the point of the sun being lit into existence, it requires a substantial amount of spiritual energy to stabilize it. If the host did not consume pills to supplement its creation, the second sun could have collapsed into pieces. Other than that, it does not normally require that much spiritual energy in any other instance.]

The moment Huang Shi heard these words, his jaw suddenly dropped in shock as he started to tremble in fear.

What the fuck, System? You seriously couldn't have told me that at the beginning—you know, before I broke through? And what about my first sun? I didn't have to do that the first time!

[Responding to host: Regarding the first query, the host did not ask. As for the second query, the first sun is much easier to unlock compared to the others.]

Huang Shi felt like he was about to faint as he gritted his teeth.

Alright, you scoundrel! What else do I need to know about breakthroughs?

[There is no more information left to share.]

Huang Shi wanted to scream and curse, but he knew that no matter what he did, his system would not care. And so, he just forced the indignation deep into his chest as he spoke in a rough voice.

Fine! One day I will get back at you for this!

After grumbling internally for a while, Huang Shi finally managed to calm down as he decided to take stock of the changes to his abilities.

After looking at his status for a while, he finally noticed something peculiar as he focused on his body refinement technique.

Hmm? My Calamity Skin Refinement is already at 84/100? Such a huge improvement? Is that because I just broke through?

Huang Shi once again received another surprise as he smiled happily to himself, savoring the fact that he had become even stronger.

I wonder how strong I am now that I've broken through? I can definitely fight way above my level, right?

Huang Shi felt excited to test it out; however, he then noticed something else.

Hmm? My Cinderveil robes are heavily damaged? Guess I need to get rid of them…

Huang Shi didn't think much of the small loss. After his devastating ordeal with the igniting of his second sun, these small setbacks no longer bothered him that much.

Finally, after a few moments of staying quiet and stabilizing his condition, he opened his eyes. Following his breakthrough, they had now turned a deep, piercing shade of gold, glowing with the concentrated power of his suns.
