The woman looked at him lightly, the moonlight passing through the windows giving her an ethereal vibe.
"That will be all for our first meeting. Make sure you make a good impression on Hongyi when he gets here; after all, men are typically more emotional... when it comes to matters regarding their beloved daughter's marriage."
She thought for a few seconds more, thinking of something else to say before opening her mouth.

The crazed look in the woman's eyes was all the sign he needed to be sure that this woman was definitely Xinyue's mother, and his expression turned as pale as a ghost.

As he tried his best to calm his nerves with his golden flames, he tried to think through the situation, trying to find any angle that he might have missed, before a strange expression suddenly appeared on his face.
"We talked for so long and I didn't even manage to ask her name... that's a bit embarrassing."
He shook his head, trying not to think of these things anymore, as he forced himself to stand up and stretch his body. He turned around and gripped the doorknob of his room, walking out the door before doing the same to the main exit, stepping out into the open as he felt his shoes touch the ground.
As he once again felt the cold night breeze, he looked up at the sky, seeing the full moon in all of its glory and the stars that seemed so out of reach. He raised his hand to the sky, acting as if they were right there in front of him, before grabbing at empty air.
One day, I will have that kind of power as well.
Remembering all of the things Bai Xinyue's mother did made it finally dawn upon him that the world he was living in was entirely different from Earth. This world was not governed by the rules and laws of his previous world.
