Chapter 25 - Web Slingers

"The future is different, Sorcerer."

In the original plot, George, alone with a gun, forced Ghost-Spider to reveal her identity.

The future Lucas had deduced was ninety percent similar to the scene before him. The difference was that Gwen was not injured.

In the deduction, Gwen was in danger because she was injured. The current situation seemed perilous, but with Gwen unharmed, she could fully retreat.

"Is it different?" The Ancient One asked. "Then will you continue to intervene?"

The Ancient One didn't know what future Lucas had deduced. He had already retired, he didn't need to monitor it all day.

Otherwise, what would be the point of his retirement?

"Of course."

Lucas chuckled and stepped out of the Mirror Dimension.

"Later, when you cast the spell, please also erase my existence."

This kid...

The Ancient One raised his eyebrows.

Just walking out of the Mirror Dimension like that?

He doesn't even use a portal.

Stepping out of the Mirror Dimension, Lucas appeared, sighing inwardly.

Alas, why can't I cast spells across the Mirror Dimension?

I'm still too weak, I need to practice.

Lucas connected to George through telepathy. "Mr. Stacy, I'm Lucas. I'm taking Gwen. Soon, this matter will be forgotten. You figure out how to explain it yourself."

A portal opened beneath their feet, and Lucas and Gwen vanished from their spot, entering the Mirror Dimension.

The Ancient One raised his eyebrows again.

Is this the Mirror Dimension or a park?

Lucas suddenly slapped his forehead.

"Lucas, what's wrong?" Gwen asked with concern.

The Ancient One also looked over.

Could it be that forcefully entering and exiting the Mirror Dimension consumed too much mental energy?

"Nothing, I just suddenly realized I'm really stupid." Lucas shook his head, indicating he was fine.

"I only knew that portals could connect the Mirror Dimension and the outside world, allowing free entry and exit. I didn't know that one could open a portal first, and then cast spells through it."

Simply put, across the Mirror Dimension, mental energy couldn't get out, so spells couldn't be cast. But through a portal, mental energy could get out, and then spells could be cast.

Gwen looked confused, what was Lucas talking about?

The Ancient One asked, "Is there a difference?"

Lucas said, "It saves a few steps."

And it looks more mysterious.

Lucas looked at Gwen and asked curiously, "By the way, Gwen, what's going on here?"

The mastermind was dealt with but the event still happened, even though the timing was off

Gwen was puzzled. "I'm not sure either. It seems Kingpin died, and his subordinate forces started fighting. Tonight, there are thugs, gangs, and Police everywhere. Before I knew it, I was surrounded by the police."

Lucas fell silent.

Kingpin's death, he did it.

The infighting among his forces, the fuse—Murdock's death, he lit it.

When Gwen was going out tonight, George tried to stop her, but he persuaded her.

Am I the mastermind?

Lucas turned his gaze to yhe Ancient One, seeking an explanation.

Feeling Lucas's gaze, the Ancient One was quite pleased, stroking his beard and slowly beginning, "If an event's time, place, cause, process, and outcome have all changed, leaving only a slight similarity, is this event still the original event?"

"Doesn't that make them two different events?" Gwen asked, confused.

Couldn't these sorcerers speak more clearly?

The Ancient One nodded, continuing to wait for Lucas's answer.

From Gwen's perspective, she was right.

Lucas didn't rush to answer, he thought of a meme from before he had transmigrated.

Spider-Man's inescapable fate—Uncle Ben's death.

"Is the remaining similarity 'fate'?"

The Ancient One nodded with satisfaction. "We can choose to obey fate, change fate, or fight against fate. The premise is to discover fate."

The Ancient One then guided, "So, Lucas, have you discovered it?"

What are they talking about?

Gwen's gaze darted back and forth between Lucas and the Ancient One's faces.

Ever since Lucas became a sorcerer, his speech had become increasingly cryptic.

Lucas had a guess, but he couldn't confirm it.

The guess relied on wisdom and a little understanding of the plot.

Confirmation relied on strength, hard strength.

Lucas shook his head, then said, "Someone's coming."

His guess—to have Gwen leave her original Universe and become one of the Spider-Men who maintain the Multiverse.

Outside the Mirror Dimension, the Police had already left.

A crimson-colored portal, not belonging to Kamar-Taj, opened.

A tall man in a red, purple, and blue spider suit led the way out. He exuded an aura of fierceness and danger.

Web Slingers leader, Spider-Man 2099 Miguel O'Hara.

The Mirror Dimension dissipated, and the three of them appeared.

"You don't belong to this Universe, you've interfered with the flow of time and space." Miguel's cold gaze swept over the Ancient One and Lucas.

"Who are you, and where are you from?"

"These young people nowadays are really something." The Ancient One chuckled a few times.

"Earth-616, the Ancient One."

"The Ancient One? Sorcerer Supreme of Kamar-Taj?" Miguel asked in surprise.

The Web Slingers are an organization spanning the Multiverse. Relying on the Web of Destiny, they can travel through the Multiverse. Naturally, they had heard of the Sorcerer organization, Kamar-Taj.

The Ancient One nodded with a smile.

Miguel's expression softened a little.

When a spacetime interference phenomenon appeared on Earth-65 this time, he thought an evil villain had emerged.

But with the Kamar-Taj Sorcerer Supreme here, it was likely a misunderstanding. It would be good to clarify it and avoid a fierce battle.

"Web Slingers, Miguel O'Hara, greetings to Ancient One."

Miguel first introduced himself, then asked tactfully, "Ancient One, could you please explain the situation to me?"

The Ancient One cast her gaze upon Lucas.

Immediately, Lucas became the focus of everyone's attention.

"Earth-404, Kamar-Taj Sorcerer Supreme and Sorcerer Spider-Man Lucas."

The next Sorcerer Supreme is also the Sorcerer Supreme.

The Ancient One raised an eyebrow but didn't expose Lucas.

Miguel frowned.

He knew Kamar-Taj, and he knew Sorcerer Supreme.

But Sorcerer Spider-Man? What was that? And who was Lucas?

"Greetings, Sorcerer Lucas."

Despite his confusion, Miguel's etiquette was flawless.

Lucas was silent, thinking about how to explain.

Dealing with righteous characters was troublesome. If it were a villain, he would just throw a line at them.

I, Lucas, have always acted as I pleased. Why should I explain myself to others?

Lucas had a flash of inspiration.

"Time and space were not disturbed."

A flicker of anger crossed Miguel's face. "We detected spacetime fluctuations."

"What was disturbed was the Web of Spider-Man's Destiny." Lucas bluffed.

"You are not a true Spider-Man, nor are you a sorcerer. You don't understand the Web of Destiny and the Multiverse spacetime concept enough. That was a fluctuation of the Web of Spider-Man's Destiny."

Miguel's face darkened. "I am Spider-Man. Although I haven't been bitten by a radioactive spider, I can't stick to walls, and I don't have a spider-sense, I am Spider-Man."

Lucas just watched Miguel quietly.

The tables have turned!
