Chapter 72 - Attacking the Japanese Pantheon

"Sorcerer, please keep an eye on those four Spider-Men. Don't let the Inheritors ambush them and kill them before they can press the button."

The Ancient One, who was meditating at Kamar-Taj, felt his beard twitch slightly.

Is this brat treating me like a nanny?

Does he not understand respect for his teacher?

With a flow of mental power, the Ancient One was about to connect with Lucas remotely.

"Hmm? Why can't I connect? He's clearly at that location, strange."

The Ancient One waved his hand, and a light screen formed, its coordinates precisely where Lucas was located. But on the light screen, there was only darkness.

"This kid, why is he distorting and shielding spacetime? Is he afraid I'll peek?"

The next day.

Waking up on a small boat floating in the middle of a lake, Lucas looked at the water.

The shadow on the water was radiant, full of vigor and cheer.

Wine and women truly cannot harm me. From today onwards, I shall indulge in sensual pleasures.

Clouds, seas, snow-capped mountains, jungles, grasslands. He traveled all the way.

Five days later, Lucas returned to Earth-404.

New York, Stark Tower, living room.

Lucas and Tony sat across a coffee table, each sipping their drinks.

Lucas was the first to finish his coconut water, then asked, "Tony, didn't I tell you to press the button and contact me in a couple of days? It's been several days now, why haven't you pressed it?"

Although Earth-65 and Earth-404 have different time flows, as they are both the Material Universe, the time flows are very close.

Generally, it won't exceed 1:2.

Tony put down his wine glass, was silent for a moment, and said seriously, "Lucas, were you serious about possibly sinking Japan?"

Lucas nodded.

Tony frowned and asked, "What about the residents on the island? In a few days, it's impossible to evacuate hundreds of millions of people."

Lucas explained, "Ancient One and I will protect them using the Mirror Dimension."

Tony pressed, "Then why not put the battlefield in the Mirror Dimension?"

"If the gods of Japan dare to come out, we can naturally put the battlefield in the Mirror Dimension. But if they cower and hide in a dimension, we can only open their dimensional barrier in reality."

"If there are no problems, inform Fury and assemble the Avengers to prepare for departure."

Tony frowned deeply, but still had Jarvis inform Nick Fury.

The reason he hadn't informed Lucas on time was to evacuate as many people as possible.

Now seven days had passed, and those who could be evacuated had already left. The remaining people wouldn't leave even if given seven more weeks or seven more months.

Upon receiving Tony's notification, Nick Fury didn't waste words. He immediately ordered the Avengers to assemble on the deck.

As for the helicarrier, it had already arrived above Japan a few days ago.

These past few days, Japan had become the center of world opinion.

Those in the know, felt heavy-hearted.

High-ranking officials from various countries had received news from S.H.I.E.L.D. and verified it through other channels.

Kamar-Taj, which had protected Earth from extra-dimensional erosion since ancient times, was about to go to war with the gods who had long disappeared from Earth—the Japanese Pantheon.

After this war, the extraordinary world would be completely exposed to the public. At that time, the world order would change.

And the outcome of this war would also determine the intensity of the next arms race—the extraordinary race.

Humans had emerged from the age of ignorance, and various countries would not easily give up their sovereignty.

They had mastered a methodology called "science." They believed that this methodology could also be applied to the study of supernatural power.

But all of this had nothing to do with Lucas. He stood in the sky, looking down at the capital of Japan below him.

His gaze penetrated a certain shrine, looking at the gods of Japan.

"Since the Ancient One rose five hundred years ago, Kamar-Taj has set rules for the gods. Either leave Earth, or retreat, and leave the stage to humans."

"The gods of Japan, while seemingly in retreat, harbored malicious intentions."

"After finding a loophole in the Sorcerer Supreme's sanctum array, they secretly smuggled the Beast in and out of Earth.

"And by deception, continued to absorb human faith power, trading human souls with the Beast."

Lucas's voice came down from the high sky, not loud, but it spread throughout Japan.

Below, a figure stepped out from the crowd, indignantly saying, "Earth is the Earth of the gods, Japan is the Japan of the Japanese Pantheon."

"Ancient One's order for the gods to leave Earth and seal off this node of Earth is simply too overbearing."

Lucas looked at that shrine, a flicker of disgust in his eyes.

He had changed his mind.

"Master, please help protect the crowd."

As his voice fell, a giant portal opened above the shrine.

(Note: If you don't like this part, you can skip.)

The next second, a meteor with a diameter of about ten meters and a speed of up to Mach fifty whistled out, crashing into the shrine.

At such a distance and speed, only the Ancient One could protect the crowd from this meteor.

Crack...

The Mirror Dimension rapidly spread, enveloping the entire capital of Japan.

Lucas and the Ancient One were reasonable people. There was a clear cause and effect, they would not harm the innocent.

As for property damage, well...

Boom!!!

The shrine was instantly destroyed by the impact of the meteor hitting the ground.

The gods of the Japanese Pantheon in the shrine, who had been deceptively absorbing the faith of the people of Japan, were instantly killed.

The impact swept across, engulfing the entire city. All buildings along the way were destroyed, and the capital was reduced to ashes.

Inside the dimensional space, the gods of Japan, who had originally been filled with indignation upon hearing Lucas's words, immediately quieted down.

Lucas's slight move was already the limit for them.

Suddenly, a figure, covered in wounds and charred black, rushed out from the center of the explosion, heading straight for Lucas in the sky.

It was the person who had stepped out earlier.

"Susanoo-no-Mikoto!"

Several exclamations rang out.

It turned out that this figure who had stepped out was Susanoo-no-Mikoto, the Sea God and one of the three main gods of Japan.

In Japanese mythology, he famously slew the food god and subdued Orochi, achieving remarkable feats.

'Although this sorcerer's magic is incredibly destructive, as long as I get close, I have a chance to win.' Susanoo-no-Mikoto firmed his resolve and quickly rushed to Lucas's feet.

He reached out a hand, intending to grab Lucas.

Lucas raised his leg, power condensing and kicked towards Susanoo-no-Mikoto.

Bang!

A blood mist exploded.

Susanoo-no-Mikoto's upper body exploded into a blood mist, and his lower body fell powerlessly towards the ground.

"It seems your physical strength is not as good as Laufey's."

Lucas sighed softly, waving his hand to disperse the blood mist.

The value of Laufey was rising. He had withstood Lucas's full-power ordinary punch, only suffering severe injuries and being sent flying. He even managed to stand up.
