Chapter 15 - Caleb Torres

Damian was halfway home, backpack slung over one shoulder. He should already be home by now, but he had spent the last twenty minutes in a coffee shop, drinking and distracting himself from everything that had happened today. He had thought taking some time off to sketch would help him cope, but that apparently hadn't been enough.

The vibration of his phone distracted him for a second. He pulled it out, expecting Amanda or maybe Ethan, but got jump scared by the name he saw on the screen.

Caleb Torres.

An old classmate from junior year. A quiet, good looking boy. They'd hooked up a few times in secret. Damian had thought, stupidly, that it might turn into something more. Caleb had kissed him like he meant it, whispered things in the dark that felt real. But the second Damian suggested meeting somewhere public, just coffee, nothing big, Caleb had shut it down fast. "I'm not like that in front of people," he'd said. "You get it, right?"
