Chapter 51 - The Truth II

Zayn froze for a second.

His fist was still raised, knuckles split and bleeding, hovering in the air like he couldn't decide whether to swing again or drop it. The entire room seemed to hold its breath with him. His eyes stayed locked on Damian's face, as though the words Damian had just spoken were a language he didn't understand. As though he was waiting for Damian to laugh, to take it back, to say "I was joking, Zayn, of course I was joking."

Caleb laughed maniacally from the floor, the ugly laughter tearing the silence. Caleb's body shook with it, even as he lay there on the dirty tile, one hand pressed to his bleeding nose.

Damian glared at the bloodied boy with hate and rage in his eyes. He despised Caleb, and he couldn't for the love of him figure out why he somehow kept falling into trouble with the boy. He knew Zayn was just the tip of the iceberg, the real problem would come whenever Caleb decided to tell Amanda everything.
