Chapter 1 - It's Always The Truck

I opened my eyes, but they were dazzled by the light. I blinked instinctively for a few seconds, and as my vision adjusted, what came into view was a… WOMAN.

Fuck. I got scared, the face was way too close. I tried to move, but all my attempts failed. My body felt hijacked.

It was weird. I hadn't been drinking before, and I definitely didn't recognize this face. Is this a dream?

The woman is beautiful though. So it's worth it.

Let's recall what I can.

I did my part time job and was going to crash down on my bed when suddenly a truck broke the wall and hit me right?

So am I in hospital now?

Oh! someone else entered my vision. A man. Brown hair and a strict face, like he wasn't very pleased with me.

"X#X#X#"

He seemed to be saying something. I could see his lips moving, but I couldn't understand it. In fact, I couldn't even hear much at all.

Did he just snort?

Finally he vanished from my sight, leaving the woman alone. I didn't find him very pleasant.

I tried to open my mouth, having had enough of this drama. Were they going to take my organs? That was the only guess I had at the moment.

"Ah… ah…"

The sound came out weird. I also noticed her lips moving and some sound reaching me, but I still couldn't understand her, just like before.

Yet the smile on her face somehow calmed me down.

DING

Congratulations for fulfilling the hidden condition for unlocking the system.

System unlocked.

Choosing random system functions.

Gacha System chosen.

Adjusting parameters…

Process complete.

"…"

Am I really dreaming? I wanted someone to answer, because I could see a holographic screen in front of me, which the woman didn't seem to notice since she gave no reaction at all.

I think I understand what happened to me. And my assumption was proven correct as I noticed the name on the screen.

SAIRAORG BAEL

I recognized the name. It was the name of Rias's cousin from DxD, the fanservice series. Well, nowadays most series are getting rated due to fanservice.

Anyway, where was I? Yes. He's the guy who didn't inherit the kekkei genkai of his clan and so got discriminated against. And if I'm not wrong, I am him now.

I didn't cry over it, or about my race changing, or about getting dragged into one of the most dangerous anime verses without consent. Instead, I started thinking about my situation, my possible future, and the results seemed quite good.

I am a pure-blood devil, which means a good amount of demonic energy. My family is a source of information, which is quite important. I should use them as much as possible before getting discarded as trash to some outskirt.

If I work hard, my least potential is to reach at least High Class, no Ultimate Class, if I don't include the system.

Speaking of the system, let's check its functions too.

As soon as I thought that, some information got buffered inside my head.

According to it, I will receive one point regularly and can get one card per point. So basically, one card every day. Not bad.

The card may include anything I know or don't know. It can be skills, bloodlines, summons, weapons, consumable items, etc.

I decided to use the single point I currently had, since according to the system, the things I get are first stored in the inventory and can be taken out whenever I want, though the condition is that once an item is taken out, it can't be put back inside. Also, things I don't get from the Gacha can't be stored either.

Besides, in case it's a lie and something actually does fall in front of me, nobody is going to suspect a child for that.

So, let's go.

As the point decreased, I saw something added to the inventory, which I checked immediately.

Rupert Suarez

Isn't this the stuffed toy Stewie tells all his secrets to? What a waste of a point. Well, I didn't have high hopes anyway, so it didn't really matter. I knew it wasn't my luck to get Rimuru or TOAA on the first turn.

At least it's clear now that I won't be getting everything useful and can't rely entirely on the system.

I was going to plan for the next few years, but suddenly drowsiness hit me. Maybe it's because I'm in a child's body. Let's sleep before overworking my brain.

Good night, Omniverse.

Third-Person POV

"What happened, brother?" asked a woman who appeared as soon as she arrived using teleportation magic. Though she looked to be in her late teens, she was actually a mother, and a strong one at that. She was Venelana Bael, or rather, Venelana Gremory now after marriage.

"I didn't sense Destruction in him," said Lord Bael with disgust as he sat on the sofa. He was Sairaorg's father and the current head of the House of Bael.

"Oh… sigh. It's a pity," Venelana muttered upon hearing her half-brother's words, sounding sad though she wasn't truly affected.

There was a time when she, despite being one of the strongest Bael, had been unable to inherit the position of clan head due to being the daughter of the second mistress of the previous Lord Bael. She had never had the right to inherit the clan.

This means my daughter has a chance to become the next head of the Bael clan, since only those who inherit Destruction can become clan head, she thought inwardly while touching her stomach. The branch families might cause trouble, but I can handle them.

"Take care, brother. I am leaving. Also, there's a chance the boy may unlock the ability in the future, so don't be disappointed."

Saying this, Venelana didn't wait for her brother's response and vanished the next second.

Lord Bael saw through her intentions, since she didn't even try to hide them. Although her words sounded hopeful, the truth was know to all that if there were no signs of Destruction at birth, the chance of awakening it later was extremely low.

But he didn't care.

To him, since she had married into the Gremory family, she was no longer part of the Bael clan. He was not going to let her children inherit the house.

Huff… he snorted inwardly. It's not a big deal.

I'll just have a second child. I should select the woman and have the child within a year.

I should also cancel the deal with the Vapula clan, since there's no use for Misla anymore.

Misla Bael was currently the only wife of Lord Bael, the mother of Sairaorg, and a former member of the House of Vapula.

Her marriage had been part of a political deal between the Bael and Vapula clans. One of the conditions was for her to give birth to a potential heir. That condition had not been fulfilled, as the child failed to inherit the signature ability required to be recognized as the legal heir of the Bael clan.

Tch… my image will be tarnished because of that son of a bitch.

Couldn't he have just inherited the power? What are the odds of a direct descendant not having the clan's signature ability? Others will start thinking he isn't even my son. Damn it.

I'll wait for a year. By the time I have my second child, if he still doesn't show any sign of Destruction, I'll kick them both out of the house.
