Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

Moller only managed to stop rolling after tumbling more than ten meters across the ground.

The moment he struggled back to his feet, Loserine had already broken through the line of servants and appeared right in front of him. Her longsword flashed—one clean swing, a streak of golden sword aura tearing through the air.

There were no visible external wounds.

Yet the impact ravaged his internal organs and bones alike.

The kind of damage that meant he wouldn't be getting out of bed for at least ten days—half a month if he was unlucky.

"AAAH—!"

Moller let out a shrill scream as pain exploded throughout his body. His bloated frame staggered backward several steps before he collapsed heavily onto the ground.

This time, he couldn't even try to stand.

His eyes rolled back, and he passed out on the spot.

The horrifying scene left the servants frozen, barely daring to breathe. Loserine's combat power far exceeded anything they had imagined—they simply couldn't comprehend how a place like Silvermoon Town could harbor such a terrifying knight.

Unfortunately, killing someone outright in the middle of town—especially in front of so many witnesses—wasn't an option. If the law-enforcement knights were alerted and launched a manhunt, completing Ivsha's character quest would become exponentially more difficult.

Otherwise…

He could have eliminated one major variable from the quest right here and now.

"Lord Moller!"

Seeing that Loserine had no intention of pursuing further, the servants rushed forward to lift Moller up. Still unconscious and unable to respond, he was eventually carried away by four of them, hauled back toward his estate.

"So cool!"

"That knight was incredible!"

"That bastard always used words to humiliate our nuns—thank goodness Mr. Kurose Akira taught him a lesson!"

"That villain! Oh exalted Lord—please make him disappear from Silvermoon Town already!"

The nuns crowded around, voices overlapping as they thanked Akira and Loserine enthusiastically.

Akira simply smiled.

Not bad, he thought. Punish a despicable villain, earn the admiration of nuns… As a player, this kind of plotline feels pretty damn satisfying.

His gaze then shifted toward Sister Kaylee.

She showed no sign of disapproval at his impulsive actions. It seemed she had never intended to cooperate with Moller in the first place—the proposal from those "parachuted-in" priests had been a dead end from the start.

In a corner Akira couldn't see, Sister Moran silently observed everything that had just transpired. Her gaze was cold and unfathomable, as if something deep and dangerous was turning in her thoughts.

"Mr. Kurose Akira, this is the current predicament our church faces," Sister Kaylee said as they walked side by side. "Without an effective solution, even generous donations would only provide temporary relief. The root of the problem would remain."

Akira listened intently as she explained the church's situation.

Behind them, dozens of nuns followed curiously, eager to hear what might become of their home.

"If we can find a way for the church to operate at a profit," Akira said, stroking his chin, "then perhaps the crisis can truly be resolved."

Even Ivsha's earnings from the Adventurers' Guild weren't enough to plug the financial hole.

Ivsha had previously mentioned that the church was only losing fifty silver coins per month—but after digging deeper, Akira realized the reality was far more severe.

By rough estimation, the monthly deficit far exceeded fifty silver coins, and with monster activity around Silvermoon Town worsening, that deficit would only continue to grow.

Akira recalled the Nun's Amulet Ivsha had given him earlier.

If I can figure out its production cost and output… he thought, I might actually be able to help.

But first, he needed to know its market value.

After all, you couldn't plan anything without knowing how much it could sell for.

That meant a trip back to the guild later.

"Thank you sincerely for your concern and assistance," Sister Kaylee said with a gentle smile. She glanced outside, where dusk was beginning to fall. "If you don't mind, would you like to stay and have dinner with us tonight?"

"Then I'll gladly accept," Akira replied, nodding.

"I have matters to attend to," Sister Kaylee added. "Ivsha will show you around."

"Understood."

With that, Sister Kaylee turned and left.

"Shall we go then, Mr. Kurose Akira?" Ivsha smiled, hooking her arm around his. "I'll show you the rest of the church… and the nuns' dormitory."

"What would I go to the dormitory for?" Akira asked, puzzled.

"Hehe~" Ivsha giggled mischievously, offering no explanation as she gently tugged his arm and led him away.

Time slipped by.

Evening arrived in the blink of an eye.

Akira sat inside the church, having just finished dinner with the nuns. Though it was only a game, he somehow felt genuinely full afterward.

Not too full, though—the food didn't quite suit his tastes.

And yet…

Akira glanced toward Ivsha, who stood praying in the distance.

How exactly does church food manage to raise her like this? he wondered.

So supple…

And so… generous.

"What do you usually do while on duty?" Akira asked.

Tonight was Ivsha's shift. The church doors were already closed, and the other nuns were engaged in evening prayer. No one else would be coming in.

"Nothing in particular," Ivsha replied. "Just stay in the church for an hour or two and make sure the candles don't go out."

As she spoke, she casually blew out several candles along the edges—leaving only two still burning brightly near the central statue.

"…?"

"Weren't you supposed to keep the candles lit?" Akira asked.

"Yes," Ivsha said, already moving closer and sitting right beside him. She smiled sweetly. "As long as those two stay lit, the others…"

She leaned in, voice soft.

"They're a bit in the way~ so I blew them out~"

"…?"

Akira mentally typed out a question mark.

Then Ivsha leaned even closer.

In the dim light, her dark violet eyes shimmered faintly as they locked onto his. The air between them filled with overflowing affection, threads of demonic mana rippling softly.

Akira's heartbeat began to race—like a flood unleashed.

Wait.

This is a church.

She wouldn't seriously plan to do something here… right?

Damn succubus.

I love that about you.

"Even in a sacred church," Ivsha whispered, "I can never suppress the desires in my heart."

She shifted, straddling him.

Her slender, snow-white fingers traced lightly, parting the mist little by little.

"Look~ even He wants to betray the sacred covenant… and experience the pleasure of defying the Holy Light with me~"

Ivsha smiled excitedly, her mischievous heart-shaped tail swaying gently as if delighted.

"Ivsha… what if the other nuns come back?" Akira asked, still worried about being discovered.

Though, strangely enough…

The thought was kind of thrilling.

"Don't worry~" Ivsha leaned down and whispered softly. "Evening prayers~ ngh~ last a full hour… they won't~ mm~ come~"

"…Is that so? Then that's good."

Akira let out a long breath, though something still felt off.

"Please relax, Mr. Kurose Akira~" Ivsha murmured. "Leave everything to me~ it'll be over~ very soon~"

"Ivsha! Sister Kaylee is calling you!"

Just as Ivsha was about to immerse herself in the long-desired holy light, a nun's voice rang out.

"Looks like~ we'll need to wait a little longer~"

Ivsha sighed regretfully, carefully hiding the food away before replying,

"Coming~"

Her body swayed enticingly as she headed toward the side door on the right.

Hah…

Akira exhaled slowly.

This game's plotlines were getting bolder by the minute.

At this rate, the God of Light was definitely going to turn out to be a bastard in the later story.

Blaspheming the Holy Light was exciting—but he really needed to step outside and cool off before things escalated too fast.

Wouldn't want to wipe prematurely.

Just as Akira stood up, preparing to go clear his head—

He suddenly noticed that at some point, a woman with long wine-red hair had appeared inside the church.

Even more unsettling—

Her features bore a striking resemblance to Ivsha.

…That's new.
