"So it's her?"
Kurose Akira spotted Sister Sera at once. Among the nuns, she stood out unmistakably—her presence, her aura, her strength were all clearly on a different level from the rest.
Before entering the church, Lucia had already told him: in the entire Black Rose Ancient City, only one emissary of the Church of Light possessed light magic with outright destructive properties—and that was this nun named Sera. Moreover, the residual light-element mana lingering in the heart of the corpse matched Sister Sera's magic perfectly.
In addition, Sera was not a native of the Star Kingdom. She was an orthodox nun of the Sun Theocracy, dispatched to the Star Kingdom for undisclosed reasons.
And now, she had committed yet another unforgivable sin.
"May I ask what brings you here, Mr. Half-Dragon?"
Sister Sera looked toward Akira, her gaze gentle, the corners of her lips lifting into a warm, friendly smile. Compared to the panic and confusion of the other nuns, she appeared unnervingly calm and composed.
Akira did not respond.
He simply reached back—and quietly closed the church doors.
The moment the doors shut, his figure exploded into motion.
Like an arrow released from a bow, he charged straight at Sister Sera.
Although Akira's base attributes were far inferior to Sera's, he was currently under the effects of numerous blessings granted by Lucia. These blessing-type spells had elevated his combat power to an astonishing degree.
[Blessing of Light (Single): Total combat power +50%, Light magic potency +50% (30 min)][Radiant Glow: All resistances +30% (45 min)][Saintess's Chant: All attributes +50% (50 min)][...]
Layer upon layer of blessings caused Akira's overall strength to surge dramatically. Against a level 45 nun, he was far from powerless.
"He's charging at us!"
"Him?! What is he trying to do?!"
"Hurry! Go notify the nearby inspectors!"
"..."
The nuns were thrown into chaos by Akira's sudden assault, scattering in panic.
Sera, however, understood immediately.
He's coming for me.
She clasped her hands together and began chanting a spell at once.
Just as Akira flashed in front of her and drew back his fist, a golden barrier abruptly materialized.
Bang!
A heavy, muffled impact echoed through the church as Akira's scale-covered fist slammed into the golden barrier, blasting a visible crack across its surface.
In the next instant, countless golden chains erupted into existence, binding Akira's limbs tightly.
"Everyone, there's no need to worry~"
Seeing Akira restrained, Sister Sera smiled reassuringly at the other nuns.
"I'll handle this."
"Thank goodness~"
"Sister Sera is as reliable as ever~"
"As expected of an orthodox nun of the Sun Theocracy! I heard she was once even a candidate for Saintess!"
"Sister Sera is amazing~"
"..."
Praise poured in from all sides.
Sera accepted it with a faint smile—then turned her gaze back to Akira. Her expression instantly hardened as she asked in a low voice,
"Who are you? And why are you targeting me?"
Akira did not answer.
Instead, every muscle in his body tensed—and he unleashed the full power of his half-dragon bloodline.
Crack—crack—crack!Boom!
The chains woven from light mana shattered instantly.
Sera's expression darkened. She tried to retreat—
—but the moment she moved, she realized her feet were already locked in place by newly formed golden chains.
"Light magic?!"
The instant she saw herself bound by chains of light, Sera's pupils shrank violently. Shock flooded her face.
She could never have imagined that this half-dragon who had stormed into a Church of Light… could also wield light magic.
Before she could react—
Crackcrackcrackcrack!BOOM!
A thunderous explosion rocked the space.
Akira shattered the light barrier completely and drove a brutal punch straight into Sera's abdomen.
"PFF—!"
Her body was launched like a cannonball, her snow-white figure jolting violently as she flew several meters back and slammed hard into the wall.
The sudden turn of events left the nuns utterly stunned, the church falling into deathly silence.
Before anyone could respond, Akira was already moving again—closing the distance in a single step, appearing before the fallen Sera.
"Who… are you…?"
Sera hadn't even managed to stand when Akira kicked her away again, sending her skidding across the floor.
What followed was an overwhelming barrage.
Unskilled in close combat, Sera could not endure such relentless physical assault. Excruciating pain surged from her abdomen, her consciousness rapidly blurring.
"Get away from me!"
Clenching her teeth, Sera forcibly activated a high-tier spell—
Light Annihilation.
In an instant, blinding golden radiance burst from her body, swallowing everything around her.
Akira's figure vanished within the light.
Gradually, the golden brilliance faded—and Sera's silhouette emerged first.
"Damn it… where did that insane half-dragon come from?!"
Clutching her abdomen, she staggered to her feet, trembling. Her hair was disheveled, blood trickling from the corner of her lips—she looked utterly wretched.
Yet when she saw that only she remained within the annihilated zone, a cruel smile crept onto her lips.
She quickly suppressed it, mindful of the other nuns.
Standing upright, she smiled gently and said, "It's over. That half-dragon has been dealt with."
But instead of relief—
The nuns stared past her, terror etched across their faces, fingers trembling as they pointed behind her.
Impossible—?!
SLAP!
Before she could even turn around, a massive dragon claw slammed down onto her head.
"Damn it!"
In that instant, Sera felt death looming.
She tried to chant a spell—but her trembling body refused to respond.
"We're going somewhere quiet."
Akira gripped her head and dragged her down into a sealed chamber beneath the church.
Thud~
Sera was thrown onto the ground. The pain wracking her body filled her eyes with terror.
She couldn't understand it.
How could this half-dragon survive Light Annihilation—without suffering even the slightest injury?
That was a high-tier spell!
Even a purple-robed priest had died to it!
"Why did you kill the purple-robed priest?"
Akira crossed his arms over his chest, looking down at her coldly.
"I didn't! You're framing me!"
Sera gritted her teeth, stubbornly denying it.
"You have one chance."
Akira merely stared at her. His towering body blocked the faint light overhead, as though darkness itself were pressing down on her soul.
Sera's body began to tremble uncontrollably.
The fear in her heart finally shattered her resolve.
"I—I was ordered to do it!" she blurted out. "Inspector Jeler instructed me! He said that if I helped him kill Priest Morris, he would arrange my return to the Sun Theocracy!"
"Please, spare my life! I'm innocent! Jeler is the one behind it all! He's colluding with the Star Kingdom's royal family—he wants control over all the churches within the kingdom!"
She dropped to her knees, begging Akira desperately.
"An inspector…?"
Akira frowned slightly.
If it had been nothing more than personal conflict between a nun and a priest, the matter would've been easy to resolve.
But with an inspector involved, things became far more troublesome.
"Please, Mr. Dragonman~"
Sera slowly shrugged off her nun's robes, revealing her flawless, pale body. With a seductive smile, she whispered,
"Would you spare my life? I'm willing to serve your… enormous—"
Before she could finish—
A beam of golden light descended from above, instantly erasing her body into dust.
"Lucia?"
Akira knew immediately—it was Lucia's doing.
Though, to be fair, he hadn't been anywhere near that easily tempted.
After confirming the situation, Akira left the church.
A short while later, he reverted to his human form and arrived at a distant bell tower, where Lucia was already waiting.
"It's resolved."
Standing beside her, Akira looked toward the church in the distance. Several inspectors clad in blue armor had arrived to investigate Sera's death. At the same time, a squad of law-enforcement knights was rushing over as well.
"Thank you for this. Let's return to the guild," Lucia said at once, signaling Akira to activate the teleportation array.
She already knew what had transpired within the Star Kingdom. There was no reason to stay.
Akira glanced at her, sensing a faint chill in the air.
Her cold, aloof authority seemed to be on full display.
"…Alright."
He responded softly and opened the teleportation gate.
...
By the time they returned to the guild, it was already deep into the night.
Ivsha and the others had left. The vast hall was empty, with only magic-flame silver phoenix butterflies fluttering quietly through the air.
Akira casually submitted the prerequisite portion of Lucia's character quest.

"So Lucia was actually born in the Star Kingdom…?"
Akira read the quest description carefully, his curiosity about Lucia's past deepening.
Just as he sank into thought, a sacred beam of light suddenly descended, illuminating the space between him and Lucia.
"Hm?"
Lucia's gaze was also drawn to the light, as though she sensed something familiar within it.
Then—
A pair of white stockings drifted down gently, landing atop the wooden bar counter.
"..."
Akira froze for a moment. Why was the quest reward appearing directly inside the guild?
He turned to Lucia and found the same trace of confusion on her face.
Lucia glanced at him, then asked softly,"…What does this mean?"
"It doesn't mean anything special," Akira said lightly, reaching out to collect the stockings.
But before his hand could touch them, Lucia used magic to draw them into her grasp.
She looked down at the white stockings in her hand, then raised her eyes to Akira.
"You want me to wear these… don't you?"
