After reading Aggron's Ability, even Aaron was impressed.
Wasn't this thing even more ridiculous than some of the Abilities his own Pokémon had?
Both defensive stats were permanently raised by three stages, and Diamond Body effectively erased Aggron's type weaknesses.
Combined with its naturally monstrous Defense, this thing was practically a walking fortress.
And its Special Defense was nothing to laugh at either.
"Guess I really can't underestimate the Trainers in this world..."
"There are still a few Pokémon out there that can become absolute monsters even without cheats."
Aaron thought to himself.
This tournament had brought together some of Hualis's best young Trainers, and their Pokémon kept surprising him.
Each one seemed more ridiculous than the last.
...
"Aggron, Double Rock Tomb!"
Standing beside his strongest Pokémon, Galen seemed to regain some of his confidence as he shouted the command.
"AGGRROOON!"
Aggron opened its massive jaws and roared.
A dense surge of energy erupted from its body.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The battlefield began to shake violently.
Huge boulders tore free from the ground and rose into the air one after another until they filled the space above the arena.
"Aggrrooon!"
Aggron roared again.
The suspended boulders immediately shot forward like cannonballs, hurtling toward Greninja at terrifying speed.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
In an instant, the battlefield disappeared beneath a storm of flying rock.
"Greninja... use that move."
"The technique you picked up from the anime Legend of the Frog Ninjas."
Aaron watched the barrage close in.
Then he calmly gave the command.
"Sage Art: Water Release — Twin Water Blades Jutsu!"
"Gren..."
Greninja's eyes sharpened.
Blue-white energy surged around its body before rapidly gathering in both hands.
In the blink of an eye, two blades of high-speed water formed in its grip, their edges compressed razor-thin.
WHRRRRR!
The twin blades gave off a piercing whine as the water streamed through them at incredible speed.
Greninja lowered its stance.
Two water blades in hand, the black frog looked every bit the ninja it was supposed to be.
This was a technique Greninja had developed after watching and studying that anime.
Aaron had named it Sage Art: Water Release — Twin Water Blades Jutsu.
Greninja's talent was getting ridiculous even by Aaron's standards.
He had never heard of another Pokémon learning something this terrifying just from watching anime.
If every Pokémon could learn moves by watching shows, what would even be the point of TMs?
"Grenin!"
Greninja moved.
Its body vanished into a streak of black as it charged straight into the incoming barrage.
SHHK! SHHK! SHHK!
Greninja weaved through the storm of boulders at blinding speed.
The twin water blades flashed again and again.
One rock split cleanly in half.
Then another.
And another.
Even the hardest boulders were carved apart before they could touch Greninja.
SHHK! CRACK! SHHK!
Fragments exploded across the battlefield as Greninja slipped through every opening in the barrage.
Black and blue blurred together as it advanced, its twin blades cutting apart everything in its path.
Within moments, the field was littered with shattered stone and clouds of rock dust.
When the last boulder crashed to the ground, Greninja stood untouched amid the debris.
Not a scratch.
The twin water blades still hummed in its hands.
For several seconds, the entire arena was silent.
Greninja was simply too fast.
Most of the spectators could barely follow its movements.
...
"H-How the hell is that possible?!"
Galen stared at the battlefield in horror.
"What the hell is this?!"
"I'm trying to have a Pokémon battle here, and you're playing Fruit Ninja with my attacks?!"
Aaron ignored him.
"Greninja, get in close."
"Twin Water Blades."
"Nin!"
Greninja disappeared from sight.
The next instant, it was already beside Aggron.
Its twin water blades swept across Aggron's diamond-like armor.
SKRREEECH!
Sparks exploded in every direction.
The piercing sound of compressed water grinding through hardened armor tore across the battlefield.
Two deep cuts opened across Aggron's crystalline plating.
The water blades had actually cut through it.
"AGGRROOON?!"
Aggron recoiled.
Its eyes locked onto the fresh cuts across its armor.
For the first time since entering the field, its confidence disappeared.
