Chapter 179 - 179-Beach Training Grounds

"Whirrrrrr~~~~"

A small helicopter hovered above the beach, its rotor blades creating an obnoxious racket. Fortunately, the beach below was devoid of people, so there was no need to worry.

Five figures in white combat suits descended from the helicopter, gripping rappelling ropes as they landed steadily on the sand.

Sieg glanced at the four next to him, shaking his head to force himself to be alert. He barely had time to observe his surroundings.

The ocean wasn't too far ahead, and beneath their feet stretched a sandy beach.

Wave after wave crashed onto the shore, fierce tides surging across the sand. Some of the more violent waves in the distance reached heights of over ten meters.

Further along the coastline was a cliff. At its base, black reef rocks stood firm, enduring the violent pounding of the waves. Water splashed in all directions, nature carving masterpieces into the stone.

Wingull frequently flew over the beach. Digging beneath the sand often revealed molted shells left behind by various Pokémon.

There were shells from Dwebble, Krabby, and even Kingler.

How could Sieg tell the difference between Krabby and Kingler shells? That was simple enough.

Kingler's left claw was significantly larger. As a Breeder, Sieg's knowledge about individual Pokémon far exceeded that of trainers of the same level.

He collected the Kingler shell and placed it in his spatial ring. After all, this counted as decent material. Once crushed into powder and added to Pokémon food, it could supplement nutrition quite well.

"Sir Mushin, is this our special training ground?" Rose didn't miss any opportunity to get close to Mushin, swaying her body as she approached, and speaking in that ever so seductive voice voice of hers.

However, Mushin still didn't fall for her act. He quickly pushed away her chest which she was pressing against his arm, coughed, and said, "That's right. This beach will be your training camp for the next month."

With that, Mushin pulled out four spatial rings from his pocket and distributed them to the four.

After Sieg caught his, before he could check what was inside, he heard Mushin speak.

"Inside are massive amounts of resources. Give your Pokémon one vial of the green serum daily. It can accelerate their leveling speed. This is one of the benefits only those with captain rank or above in the organization can enjoy."

Hearing Mushin's introduction, Sieg probed with his mind. Sure enough, he discovered over a hundred vials of green serum in the spatial ring. Each one radiated a brilliant emerald glow, with wisps of energy seeping out.

Just then, the older of the twin brothers suddenly asked, "There aren't any Pokémon here at all. How are we supposed to conduct special training? Are we just supposed to battle each other?"

Sieg nodded in agreement. He'd already scanned the surroundings earlier, there were almost no traces of wild Pokémon.

Mushin didn't answer his question. Instead, he focused his gaze intently on the surging waves in the distance. Ocean currents pushed layer after layer of waves toward them.

One wave stirred another, each stronger than the last.

Suddenly, Gengar rushed toward the shore. The waves crashed violently against its body, the immense water pressure from the massive tides battering Gengar relentlessly.

Sieg understood the meaning behind this special training.

"Tidal body tempering?"

Using a Pokémon's own physical energy to resist the forces of nature, over and over again, this would strengthen their bodies through repetition.

"You can choose to use moves to block the waves, or you can do it like me and have your Pokémon endure it with their bodies directly. However, you must be careful of the waves at night. That's when they're most violent. Even elite-level Pokémon could get swept into the ocean and drown."

After briefly warning everyone, Mushin walked to the deeper parts of the shore on his own. It seemed like he wanted to do some solo training.

He left the four standing there, looking at each other.

Sieg shook his head with a smile and walked toward the shore, releasing all his Pokémon except for Sandile and Umbreon.

The other three did the same, finding their own positions and having their Pokémon begin training. During this time, Sieg managed to gather some information about their Pokémon.

There wasn't much to say about Rose, he'd already encountered her back in the canyon. She still had the same Pokémon.

Most notably, her Venusaur seemed to have broken through to elite level. However, she had kept it completely hidden, not even processing her mid-captain promotion.

This made Sieg add another label to Rose's profile: deeply calculating.

As for the twin brothers, besides their ace Nidoking and Nidoqueen, they had a bunch of other strong Pokémon.

However, judging from their team composition, they weren't type specialists like him or Rose, but rather ran mixed teams.

Of course, the most eye-catching was that Gyarados, which seemed to belong to the younger twin brother.

Even from a distance, Sieg could vaguely see the massive blue serpentine form using its powerful body to charge at the giant waves. Though swept into them, it would resurface before long and continue battling the endless ocean.

Their Golduck was also quite conspicuous. The ruby on its forehead flashed briefly, its eyes radiating brilliant blue light. With a loud "Gack!" it unleashed a Psychic-type attack.

The massive wave before it suddenly stopped mid-air, then fell to the ground like ordinary water droplets, losing all momentum.

A white light flashed, it was Rose's Pidgeot. Its entire body glowing white, it charged directly into the fierce waves.

"Pidgeo~!"

Its sharp cry echoed across the entire coast.

Sieg observed quietly. Everyone's Pokémon were strong. Besides the guaranteed elite-level ace, each person's second strongest Pokémon was infinitely close to elite level as well.

Rose's Pidgeot, the twins' Gyarados and Golduck, all should be about level 38.

"However, my Sharpedo has already reached level 39. There's a strong chance it'll break through to elite level this month."

Sieg watched the shark fin cutting rapidly through the ocean. Back in the sea, Sharpedo truly shone, completely in its element.

Crawdaunt stood by the shore. Whenever the tide surged most violently, it would use its massive pincers to strike the waves, using pure overwhelming force to shatter them. Scattered water splashed across the surrounding beach.

The sun descended toward the ocean's surface until the fiery red of the evening glow gradually faded.

The tides began to slowly calm.

Honchkrow landed beside Sieg with its drenched body, panting heavily.

Sieg consolingly patted Honchkrow's body, immediately pulling out a towel and dryer to groom its feathers.

After continuously using Brave Bird against the ocean waves, Honchkrow could clearly feel that compared to four hours ago, it had made obvious progress with this move.

From being knocked back by the violent waves at first, to gradually being able to withstand them, and finally breaking through them entirely.

Sieg witnessed every bit of progress.

"Everyone, excellent work today!"

Sieg encouraged his three Pokémon.
