Seeing Han Li lose his temper, Li Feiyu didn't get angry. Instead, he acted as though it were nothing, casually digging in his ear with his pinky finger as if he were saying, "Come at me—I'll deal with whatever comes."
After Han Li vented his frustration, he noticed how thick-skinned Li Feiyu was, acting as if nothing had happened. This made him calm down quickly, realizing that something else was going on here.
"You're not an idiot, and you're certainly not arrogant. There must be some reason behind you doing something so reckless, right?" Han Li asked, his tone much more measured now.
Li Feiyu, seeing Han Li regaining his calm, seemed a bit disappointed but didn't respond to the sarcastic jibe. Instead, he slouched toward the pile of books, bent down, and casually picked up one of the manuals, standing up with a mysterious smile on his face. He handed it to Han Li, silently signaling him to open it.
Han Li took the thin book with confusion, still uncertain about Li Feiyu's intentions.
"Open it, and you'll understand," Li Feiyu urged, his voice coaxing with a touch of mischievousness.
"Why all the mystery? Just tell me already," Han Li grumbled, still reluctant but doing as Li Feiyu suggested and opening the book.
As soon as he lifted the cover, the first thing he saw were the bold black characters, clearly written: "Blinking Sword Manual".
"Ah!" Han Li's eyes widened in surprise.
Li Feiyu tossed him another book. "Don't get too shocked—look through these next ones."
Han Li caught the new books and quickly flipped through them. As he did, his face turned ashen. Every single book had the exact same title: "Blinking Sword Manual".
It took him a moment to process this, but when he finally lifted his gaze from the books in his hands, he looked at Li Feiyu in disbelief.
"Wait... don't tell me... all of these... are Blinking Sword Manuals?" Han Li asked in a broken voice.
"Unfortunately, Han Junior Brother, you guessed it right," Li Feiyu shrugged, spreading his hands with a mock expression of helplessness.
"But... this is impossible! There must be nearly a hundred books here. How could they all be Blinking Sword Manuals?" Han Li's mind was racing, and he was still trying to process the enormity of what he was seeing.
"I don't know what to tell you," Li Feiyu replied with an exaggerated shrug. "I was just as shocked as you when I found so many identical books in a forgotten corner of the library!"
Han Li's hands trembled slightly as he looked at the pile of books. His mind was in a whirl, struggling to understand how this could be possible. The idea that so many identical manuals could be stored in the Seven Xuan Hall was hard to accept.
Li Feiyu watched Han Li's stunned expression with amusement. Normally, Han Li always seemed so composed, so seeing him flustered and surprised was a rare and satisfying sight. Li Feiyu grinned, enjoying the moment.
After a long pause, Han Li finally snapped out of it. He clutched the books in his hands and, looking down thoughtfully, asked, "Have you counted them? How many are there in total?"
"I've counted them—more than once, actually. There are seventy-four books with the exact same title," Li Feiyu answered without hesitation, giving an accurate number.
"Not knowing the exact number would be a problem. If we accidentally miss one or two when we return them, it could spell disaster," Han Li muttered, the gravity of the situation starting to sink in.
Han Li carefully flipped through one of the books, his eyes scanning the yellowed pages, trying to absorb the contents. His mind raced as he thought about the implications of this find.
Li Feiyu had taken the risk of stealing these books, all for the sake of one technique—Blinking Sword. The entire library of the Seven Xuan Hall contained seventy-four identical manuals of a sword technique that had been lost to time, and now, Han Li held them all in his hands. This was a game-changing discovery.
But Han Li also knew the dangerous path he was walking. If this secret got out—if the Seven Xuan Hall discovered that one of their most guarded manuals had been taken—he and Li Feiyu would not escape unscathed. The consequences could be catastrophic.
As he flipped through the first book, a plan started forming in his mind. But for now, he had to focus on understanding this Blinking Sword technique. With such an incredible treasure in his hands, there was no turning back now.
