Chapter 32 - Chapter 31: The Four-Dimensional Space

After refuting Mu Yuan's words, Shajura gave a casual wave of his hand. Utilizing some unknown method, the image on the table changed instantly.

A completely different visual appeared.

The content showed Qin Tianyi leading his subordinates as they charged into the spatial tunnel, while beside it, a graph resembling an electrocardiogram (ECG) underwent complex fluctuations. At this point, Shajura fast-forwarded the video ten minutes to the moment the spatial tunnel vanished.

The ECG-like fluctuations beside it gradually stabilized until they became a perfectly flat line.

Mu Yuan opened his mouth to say something, but Shajura gestured for him to remain silent. Instead, he projected an image of an energy field along with its corresponding data. The audience recognized the equipment, but they were deeply confused: what exactly was Shajura trying to express?

However, they soon began to understand.

Shajura pulled up historical data from previous spatial tunnel appearances and compared them with the two current data sets. The second set—the data produced by Mu Yuan and his team—did indeed show a matching rate of 85%. Seeing this result, Mu Yuan's expression brightened slightly.

Aside from him, the other TPC Chiefs of Staff and Department Heads nodded in agreement; at least the data wasn't erroneous. After all, the Defense Force always prioritized combat readiness. If TPC, which focused on technological development, failed to detect data that even the military had found, they would become a laughingstock.

Shajura surveyed the room. Seeing the triumphant look on the Defense Force officials' faces, the corners of his mouth curled into a slight, wicked arc as he gave a charmingly sinister smile.

Then, the highly anticipated second comparison chart appeared.

To no one's surprise, one of the sets of comparison data shown was the wavy "ECG" graph that had baffled them moments ago. The moment he pressed the confirmation key, the results flashed on the screen.

Mu Yuan stood up abruptly. Seeing a result of 100%, he cursed inwardly—TPC had acquired yet another new technology.

"Chief Shajura, exactly what data is this chart representing? Could you enlighten us?" Lin Jing saw at a glance that they had touched upon a new frontier and turned his gaze toward Shajura.

"This is the Dimensional Space System Energy Detector. As the name suggests, it probes spatial fluctuations. However, compared to previous spatial detectors, this can be considered an upgraded version."

The group nodded in understanding. It appeared there had been a breakthrough in spatial technology; it was time to phase out the old spatial detectors for a new generation.

"Tell us more."

"As is well known, the space we currently inhabit is called Three-Dimensional Space." Shajura waved his hand, and the projection on the table changed again.

It displayed One, Two, and Three-Dimensional spaces. He then transferred the recent data over, showing that when compared to these three sets, the accuracy rate was over 90%. At this stage, everyone finally began to grasp the concept.

After observing for a while, Lin Jing looked at Shajura.

"Is Chief Shajura implying that that spatial gateway was not a conventional spatial tunnel, but rather a portal leading to a dimension higher than the three-dimensional space we live in?"

"You could say that, but it's also not quite right."

Shajura waved his hand, and the image shifted once more as he explained: "Everyone should know that life exists in every dimension. For example, humans living in three-dimensional space, or aliens like myself."

After making this point, he manifested another space above the three spatial diagrams. The audience wasn't stupid; this had to be the Four-Dimensional space above the third.

"Four-Dimensional space is the space directly above our three dimensions. The creatures within it, regardless of their abilities, would be somewhat stronger than us. However, there is one thing you must know: dimensional spaces generally do not interact, and there is no way to enter them."

Hearing this, Mu Yuan couldn't help but interrupt: "If that's the case, why are you talking so much? Are you just trying to stall for time?"

"Don't be impatient, Mr. Mu Yuan. What I am about to discuss is the situation regarding Captain Qin Tianyi and his team."

Facing the skepticism, Shajura spoke unhurriedly: "Although dimensional spaces cannot be linked, it doesn't mean we cannot touch Four-Dimensional space."

"In my memory, there are certain races in the universe capable of using specific instruments to open a channel that approaches Four-Dimensional space. That space exists between the third and fourth dimensions. You could call it a Four-Dimensional Sub-Space (Four-De-Space) that is attached to Three-Dimensional space."

"Four-Dimensional Sub-Space?"

Another unfamiliar term emerged, and Mu Yuan found himself unable to untangle his thoughts for a moment. Although he was a Defense Force Commander with some education, it was only above that of an average person; it didn't mean he could comprehend such profound scientific issues.

Of course, it wasn't just Mu Yuan; many people present were confused. Only those from the Scientific Research Department understood. Hearing Shajura's insights, it felt as if a door—or a new train of thought—had been opened; their inspiration began to soar. Had the meeting not been ongoing, they might have rushed back to their laboratories to bury themselves in research.

"Then how do we open a channel to enter this sub-space? Can Captain Qin and the others return safely?" Lin Jing's voice rang out again after the explanation. Though the term "dimensional space" sounded intimidating, his primary concern was the safety of Qin Tianyi and the others.

"In a Four-Dimensional Sub-Space, there are no four-dimensional lifeforms. Because it is an appendage of three-dimensional space, to some extent, it is like a version of Earth where no biological life exists. Humans can still live and breathe normally within it."

Hearing this, the TPC officials all breathed a sigh of relief. As long as there were no casualties, things were fine. Since a conclusion had been reached, gathering experts from various fields would surely lead to a solution.

Seeing the relieved expressions on those present, Shajura spoke with a teasing glint in his eyes: "While the sub-space itself isn't dangerous, I must clarify: since the channel was opened by invaders, it stands to reason they might have an ambush waiting in that sub-space."

"Furthermore, within that Four-Dimensional Sub-Space, the Dark Rings cannot be used. If the invaders have an ambush, I am not certain if the GUTS Eagles alone can defeat them. Perhaps at this very moment, they have already been killed by the invaders, or maybe they are imprisoned. Or perhaps they are running for their lives within the sub-space. In any case, it won't be a pleasant outcome."

"So... you all had better prepare for the worst~~"

Leaving those final words, Shajura picked up his potted plant and walked briskly out of the conference room, refusing to stay a second longer.

"This..."

Everyone looked at one another, and finally at the departing Chief Shajura. For a time, the conference room fell into a dead silence. Perhaps they were stunned, or perhaps they were shaken by Shajura's follow-up news, but at this moment, not a single sound could be heard.

After a long while, Lin Jing looked at the open door, shook his head with a bitter smile, and said to the group: "Summon all research personnel currently working or on leave. Pass this data to them. We must determine a rescue plan in the shortest time possible."

Snapping back to reality, the group responded in unison. After promising to comply, they took the data and departed one by one.

On the walkway, Shajura, who had left early, stood on the balcony looking out over the peaceful city. His gaze shifted toward a certain direction in the Imperial Capital, and he murmured to himself.

"Great power only invites even greater power. I wonder if humanity will be able to cope once that thing is born..."

Inside a large-scale research institute in the Imperial Capital, various strange and exotic alien spacecraft were on display. The researchers here were busy deciphering the technology within these extraterrestrial vessels.

However, while one researcher was recording data, a certain set of scientific propositions struck him as odd. After a moment, he categorized it into a top-secret research project.

Project Name: "Utilizing the collision and annihilation of matter and anti-matter to convert into light energy, using Light as the propulsion force..."
