Cecilia turned and glanced at Damian Hawthorne, and it hit her in an instant.
Hugo was dead.
She had seen him die with her own eyes.
Cecilia looked up at the ceiling, forcing her tears back.
'I must have been seeing things just now.'
"Nowhere. I was just seeing things." Cecilia took a deep breath and slowly sat back down in her seat.
Damian Hawthorne glanced at the corner where the person had been, his gaze lowering.
'That Miles Sinclair must be connected to the Hugo Cecilia talks about.'
'But could they be the same person...?'
'Can the dead really come back to life?'
As Damian Hawthorne sat with Cecilia, lost in thought, a hand suddenly tapped his shoulder. "Damian Hawthorne? Is that you?"
Damian frowned, subtly shifting away from the person behind him.
Mona Nathan's eyes lit up, and her tone was gentle. "Mr. Hawthorne, there's a small favor I'll need your help with later."
