Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Newbie

Jay Jay's POV

Crazy! I'm feeling nervous yet excited. It's been a long time since I met him. Okay, fine—I met him only twice, and it didn't end well. But still, I'm happy. Do you think he still remembers me? Does he recognize me? Did he forget me!? Aah, Jay, stop overthinking. Whether he remembers me or not, he is mine! I hope he is good-hearted.

I'm standing in front of the gate of my new school: HIGHER VALUE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL. HVIS. The name itself gives me chills.

I said to myself, "Come on, Jay. Don't mess things up. You must not change schools again." I let out a deep sigh and went inside.

A few people stared at me. What? Never seen a girl walk? I think they're judging me by my appearance. I'm wearing my uniform, but my tie is loose, a red jacket slung over it, and a lollipop in my mouth. I didn't care about them. I never did. I kept my expression cold and walked toward the old building where Section E is placed.

I'm placed in Section E of 4th-year high school—the most noisy and ruthless section. I got placed here because my previous school records weren't that good. Well, I was a jerk then... and I still am if anyone messes with me.

I continued walking toward the room. The school is actually good, just wide. The grounds are fresh, with many trees around. I hope this ends well.

When I arrived at the classroom, I saw some boys hanging around opposite the door. There were five of them, all poorly dressed in their uniforms.

As I got closer, they stopped talking and turned toward me. Then I saw him. Kiefer. Wearing a jacket similar to mine, lollipop in his mouth, expression cold.

Even though I wanted to go to him and hug him, I didn't. He probably didn't recognize me. So I kept my expression cold.

"Mister, is this Section E?" I asked.

They looked at each other first, then returned their gaze to me. They scanned me from head to toe. Ugh. I'm getting annoyed by their expressions.

"No, this is the wrong building," answered a guy with brown hair.

"Huh?" I said. "The registrar told me this was it—"

"Are you deaf!? Move!" Kiefer shouted.

Ouch, Kiefer. Be careful with your words. They are hurting.

I said, "Tss.".

I turned and walked toward the Section E room. Who are you trying to fool, huh? I know this is the Section E room. I just wanted to start a conversation with you.

I stood in front of the door, lollipop in my mouth. I looked at them with an expression saying you can't cheat me. They looked a bit shocked and annoyed. I smirked at them and entered the room.

I stood at the entrance, observing. Everyone stopped talking and started staring at me. The desks and chairs looked like those in Japan, even though they were old. There were more than 20 pairs in the room. Most students sat in the back and along the sides, arranged in a U-shape. There were only a few spots in the middle, so I decided to sit there.

I tried to sit in a seat, but one guy kept his bag in it. Tss. I tried another, but another guy kept his legs in it. Do you want me to break those?! Calm down, Jay! I tried another one, but one boy kept his bag. They were trying to get on my nerves. I took that bag, set it down, and sat.

The class setup was good. There were only about 15 or 16 students here, and the others seemed scattered around. Everyone was whispering, but I didn't care.

The bell rang. Kiefer and his friends entered the room. I looked directly into Kiefer's eyes. I was angry at him. He looked at me too, walked past, and sat in the seat behind me.

Sir entered. He saw me and asked, "Who are you, miss?"

I immediately pulled out my registration papers and gave them to him. He took them.

"Ahh... You're the transfer student! Welcome. I'm Mr. Alvin Siongco. Please introduce yourself."

"My name is Jasper Jean Mariano, but you can call me Jay Jay. I'm from Holy Saints High School."

The whole class stared at me. Most looked bored. Kiefer didn't even blink.

"Mr. Class President, do you have any questions?" Sir Alvin said.

I looked at Kiefer because I knew he was the class president. He didn't respond.

"Class president," Mr. Alvin repeated, looking at Kiefer.

Finally, Kiefer stood up. "Question..." Mr. Alvin's voice sounded commanding.

The class president, Kiefer, spoke up. "Are you still a virgin?"

My eyes widened as the whole class burst into laughter. What the fuck! Is he really the Kiefer I knew? I better confirm it.

"Kiefer!" Sir shouted his name.

Kiefer grinned. "You said question… That's a question."

No respect! He even answered the teacher like that! God! Why did he become like this?I gave him a bad look. Mr. Alvin was trying to calm things down.

"Sir meant a decent question. Maybe your IQ level is very low."

Immediately, the whole class went "ooohhh" in unison.Kiefer glared at me.

"You want a decent question? Okay... When are you leaving our section?"

The whole class went "ooohhh" again. Honestly, I was disgusted by what was happening—and even more disgusted by Kiefer. His arrogance was unbearable! What did he think? Was he proud of his position? Please don't let me regret this, Kiefer.

I answered him sharply. "You? When will you disappear from the world?"

The "ooohhh" from the class grew louder, even though Sir Alvin was reacting to it too.

"Why don't you go first?" Kiefer responded with a grin.

"Because I am the one who'll make you disappear from this world," I said, in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Like you can," he said, challenging.

"Yes, I can..." I added confidently.

"Okay, okay, both of you need to stop. Kiefer, sit down. Miss Mariano, you can take your seat," Sir Alvin said, his voice firm.I sat in my place.

Fuck! Our meet became a fight. They say, "love which starts with a first, always have happy ending". I hope it's true. Otherwise, I'll kill the person who said that.

God! I promise I'll pray to you every day. Please change Kiefer.
