Chapter 27 - Flying Thunder God Upgraded, Stepping into the Destination!

"Uchiha Ren, I'm going to kill you!"

In the end, with a shrill howl of misery, Sasuke's first day of school came to an explosive close.

Before entering the academy, he'd been high-spirited and arrogant.

Even dogs that passed by deserved two slaps.

After stepping inside, he was miserable, mentally and physically exhausted—

He only wanted to escape this place.

If escape didn't work… then destroy the school!

So the moment the teacher announced dismissal, Sasuke could no longer suppress the killing intent boiling in his chest. He sprinted all the way back to the Uchiha district.

Revenge!

That damned man had to pay in blood!

All day, Sasuke had felt like a monkey on display.

Watched by countless girls with gazes full of concern, pity, sympathy, and heartbreak.

And from their whispers, he finally understood one horrifying truth—

His reputation had been assassinated.

All kinds of bizarre, ridiculous "experiences" had been piled onto his head. Put together, they could've filled a two-million-word novel.

And yet they'd been dumped on him just like that.

As for who did it?

Obvious.

There was only one absurd culprit.

He was furious.

Anger set his blood on fire.

With rage burning, Sasuke charged home like a little bull that'd seen red.

And Ren—

Ren was the red.

"Uchiha Ren! Come out! Get out here!"

"You bastard! You actually ruined my reputation!"

"Damn you—what are you trying to do?!"

As the shouting echoed, Mikoto leaned against the doorway, worry on her face.

"What kind of Stimulate did Sasuke get?"

Beside her, Fugaku didn't say a word—but the twitching at the corner of his eye refused to stop.

He hesitated, then glanced at his wife—still as graceful as ever—and lowered his voice.

"How about… we start a new character and reroll?"

"What reroll? Ren's just talking nonsense. Fugaku, why would you—"

Mikoto blushed and jabbed him in the waist.

"Ow, ow, ow! That hurts, that hurts!"

"I just remembered there's a clan meeting… I'll be going now…"

Meanwhile.

Ren left the academy with a deeply satisfied smile.

"As expected of the genius-packed class—everyone has at least some traits!"

His throat was dry from talking all day, practically smoking.

But the results were shocking.

[Ten minutes of chatting. Congratulations, host, you have obtained Elite Trait — Simple and Honest Temperament (Green).]

[Ten minutes of chatting. Congratulations, host, you have obtained Common Trait — Strong Build (White).]

[Chakra Refinement (Green), Kunai Proficiency (White)…]

Today's copy success rate seemed unusually high—nearly fifty traits in total!

That was almost the same as three months of progress.

"System, fuse all the white traits into Flying Thunder God."

[Fusion successful. Flying Thunder God Technique has improved. Teleport distance +1.]

[Fusion successful. Flying Thunder God Technique has improved…]

As one white and green trait after another vanished, Flying Thunder God's range steadily increased.

Then, at one particular moment—when the last white trait disappeared—the prompt changed.

[Fusion successful. Flying Thunder God Technique (Gold) Lv.6 → Lv.7. Maximum teleport distance increased to 1000 meters. Chakra cost: 80–1000.]

"Huh. It leveled again?"

Ren was a little surprised.

"One kilometer… that opens up a lot more options."

Konoha was big.

That was something he'd discovered over the years from idly chatting with people all over the place.

It was enormous.

In canon, it looked like "a village," but in reality it felt more like a massive city.

Not just ninja—there were countless civilians living here too.

Before, using Flying Thunder God required repeatedly chaining teleports.

Like Blink without cooldown, but only for short distances.

Now?

Blink had evolved.

A full kilometer meant no cooldown, no windup—instant arrival.

So after glancing around, Ren's heart stirred. He strolled behind a tree.

The next second—flash.

He vanished without a trace.

Not long after he disappeared, the tree's branches rustled.

Kakashi rubbed the back of his head and leaned down, confused.

"Gone?"

"Was what I tracked earlier just a Transformation Jutsu?"

Since their last encounter, he'd grown increasingly curious about this Uchiha kid.

So he'd started dropping in for surprise checks from time to time.

But this time, that boy had vanished right under his nose.

Kakashi inhaled slightly, catching the lingering scent of chakra in the air.

His brow slowly furrowed.

"Not Transformation… and not Clone…"

"Strange. This jutsu's 'smell'… why does it feel familiar…?"

He frowned, a vague sense of recognition tugging at him.

After hesitating, he pulled his forehead protector up, revealing his right eye.

In the next instant, scarlet flared.

The Sharingan spun, searching carefully through the lingering traces.

He even clapped his hands once and summoned Pakkun to help sniff.

Soon, guided by Pakkun, he and the dog headed toward the outskirts of the village.

Only after the man-and-dog pair disappeared into the distance—

Ren's figure quietly emerged from behind the tree again, amusement at the corner of his eyes.

"Not bad, dog nose. You can actually track that."

"Too bad I've got business tonight, so I can't chat with you, Fifty-Fifty."

With that, he turned and headed in another direction.

He'd already noticed Kakashi the moment he left the main gate.

Unfortunately, Kakashi was still in Ren's "conversation cooldown."

And more importantly, what Ren planned to do tonight wasn't something he wanted anyone knowing about.

Better to avoid trouble.

So he'd used Shadow Clone, Transformation—

And Flying Thunder God.

All to lure Kakashi away.

Rustle, rustle.

Not long after Ren left, the tree trunk shifted again.

Kakashi pushed aside the leaves and stared in the direction Ren had "disappeared," his exposed brow lifting slightly.

"Young."

"Mysterious, sure… but still just a kid. Too little experience."

"But…"

"Sneaking around like that—he's acting strange today…"

For some reason, curiosity sparked in Kakashi's chest.

In the next moment, his body flickered—

And he followed.

He wanted to see exactly what Ren was doing.

Tap tap tap.

As he moved, the residential areas grew sparser and sparser.

More trees. More exposed rock and soil.

Fewer people.

By the time the sky dimmed into night, a vast graveyard finally appeared in front of him.

"A cemetery? What's he doing here?"

"And that is—"

"My teacher's grave?"
