Chapter 17 - CHAPTER 17, The Path of Silence and the Awakening Within

The battle had ended.

But the world… had not recovered.

The ruined cave stood behind them like the corpse of a forgotten age. Massive slabs of stone lay scattered across the ground, each one bearing scars of a power that did not belong to the mortal realm.

The earth had split open.

Deep cracks stretched endlessly, glowing faintly red—

as if molten energy still pulsed beneath the surface, alive… waiting.

The air was heavy.

Burnt.

Dense with the scent of power that had been forced into existence.

Even the sky refused to return to normal.

A deep crimson haze spread across it, unmoving…

as though the heavens themselves were unwilling to move forward.

This was not peace.

This was not calm.

This was—

Silence.

The kind that follows something irreversible.

The Loyal King stood behind Krrish.

Gone was his pride.

Gone was the arrogance of a ruler.

Only acceptance remained.

Beside him, the Black Dragon stood unusually still.

For the first time—

fear and reverence existed together in its gaze.

Time itself felt heavy.

Slow.

Until—

The Loyal King spoke.

"There is a path…"

His voice was no longer sharp.

It was older now.

Sincere.

"A path hidden even from most guardians."

His golden eyes darkened slightly.

"It leads directly to the one who waits."

A cold wind passed through the forest.

The trees trembled.

"The Nine-Tailed Fox knows you are coming."

A pause.

"The one who defeated the Lion…"

"…and subdued the Dragon."

Deep within the forest—

Something opened its eyes.

The Loyal King raised his hand.

Golden light flowed into the ground like liquid sunlight.

Roots shifted.

Stone cracked.

And slowly—

The earth parted.

A narrow pathway emerged.

Ancient.

Unnatural.

Darkness clung to it like living mist.

Its end could not be seen.

It did not feel like a road meant to be walked—

It felt like a path that chose who could walk it.

"Only one who has abandoned fear… may pass."

Krrish looked at the path.

But he did not step forward.

Because something inside him—

Was still unstable.

His power had grown.

But it was not truly his yet.

Instead of walking the path—

Krrish turned away.

He moved deeper into the forest.

Until sound itself disappeared.

No wind.

No movement.

No life.

Only silence.

He sat down.

Cross-legged.

Eyes closed.

Breathing slow.

This was not training.

This was not imagination.

This was real.

He had been told—

"If you wish to awaken power… you must first listen to it."

Not control it.

Not command it.

Just… listen.

At first—

There was nothing.

Only darkness behind his eyes.

Then—

A spark.

Small.

Distant.

Like a star in an endless void.

Krrish focused on it.

The spark trembled…

And began to grow.

A strange warmth spread through his chest.

Not pain.

Not comfort.

Something… alive.

The air around him vibrated.

The ground beneath him hummed.

Inside his body—

Something ancient began to awaken.

And then—

It exploded.

The spark turned into a raging stream of energy.

Power rushed into him like a violent river breaking through a dam.

Through his veins.

Through his spine.

Into his mind.

His breathing became unstable.

His fingers trembled.

The ground cracked beneath him.

This power—

Was not calm.

It was wild.

Uncontrolled.

And worst of all—

It did not accept him.

Pain shot through his chest.

His eyes snapped open—

glowing faint gold.

The air twisted violently.

Dust spiraled upward.

And then—

BOOM!

The energy inside him burst outward.

A shockwave.

Like a star collapsing.

The forest shook.

Trees bent backward.

Stone shattered.

And Krrish—

Was thrown into the air.

His body flew back, crashing through a stone pillar before slamming into the ground.

Silence returned.

Heavy.

Unforgiving.

Krrish lay there, breathing hard.

His entire body burned.

His arms trembled.

For a moment—

He could not move.

The power had entered him.

But it had also rejected him.

As if saying—

"You are not ready."

Slowly… painfully…

He pushed himself up.

Blood trailed from his lip.

But his eyes—

Were not afraid.

They were burning.

"So… that's how it is…"

he whispered.

"You won't accept me easily."

A faint smile appeared.

"Good."

The wind returned.

This time—

Softer.

Almost… respectful.

That night, Krrish learned something.

Power is not given.

It is endured.

When Krrish opened his eyes—

He stood in darkness.

His Mind Space.

Infinite.

Silent.

At the center—

A throne.

And upon it—

The mysterious figure.

Blurred.

Unseen.

Yet familiar.

"The elements are not outside you."

The voice echoed endlessly.

"They are your nature."

Krrish stood still.

Listening.

Feeling.

"Do not treat them as borrowed power."

"Walk with them… not above them."

The figure stood.

Raised a hand toward him.

And—

Everything turned white.

Krrish opened his eyes.

Back in the forest.

But everything had changed.

The darkness no longer felt hostile.

It felt… aware.

As if it recognized him.

Krrish sat again.

This time—

He did not resist.

He did not try to control.

He let go.

Inside him—

The elements awakened.

Earth.

Water.

Fire.

Wind.

Space.

Each one clashed violently.

Fire surged.

Water resisted.

Wind disrupted.

Earth refused to move.

Space remained silent.

Then—

Understanding came.

Power was never meant to be controlled.

Only accepted.

Everything slowed.

Fire calmed.

Water softened.

Wind stilled.

Earth stabilized.

Space expanded.

And then—

All five elements merged.

Into his heart.

No resistance.

No rejection.

For the first time—

They accepted him.

A new aura emerged from his body.

Not red.

Not gold.

Not blue.

Something older.

Something beyond definition.

The Loyal King lowered his head.

The Black Dragon closed its eyes.

They both understood—

This was no longer just a warrior.

Krrish stood.

His steps were steady now.

Certain.

He walked toward the hidden path.

And this time—

The path did not resist him.

It accepted him.

The forest grew deeper.

Shadows parted.

Silence followed him.

Far ahead—

Nine massive tails moved slowly.

Silver eyes opened in the darkness.

A calm voice echoed—

"So… you are ready now."

"Before, you chased power…"

"Now… power walks with you."

Krrish did not reply.

He kept walking.

Because now—

This was not a test of strength.

Not a battle of power.

This was—

A test of existence itself.
