Synopsis
Mira Collins’ life turns upside down the day she is offered one million dollars to become the rental wife of Eirian Dawn Arundel—the man she hates for all the right reasons. Eirian Arundel is the sole reason Mira’s life fell apart. Once the pride of her parents and a brilliant law student, Mira’s future was destroyed by a single lie Eirian chose to stay silent about. That silence cost her everything—her education, her reputation, and her family’s trust. As punishment for a crime she never committed, Mira was forced into an arranged marriage with a stranger, the son of her father’s old friend. With no other way out, Mira fled to New York, abandoning her past in search of freedom. But survival in the city was brutal. Rejection after rejection pushed her to the edge—until she finally secured a job at Arundel Enterprises, unaware that fate was leading her straight back to the man who ruined her life. When Mira comes face-to-face with Eirian again, years of buried resentment resurface. He is still powerful, still arrogant—and now desperate. “Wait!” I yelled, grabbing his arm. He stopped, turning back, his cold gray eyes flicking to my hand before lifting to my face. I let go instantly, my heart pounding. “Would you just listen to me?” I pleaded. He sighed, impatience etched into his expression. “Let’s make a deal.” “A deal?” he asked. “A favor for a favor.” Cornered by a high-profile custody battle and a damaged public image, Eirian needs a woman by his side—a fiancée, a future wife, a lie convincing enough to fool the world. Mira is the perfect choice. She knows him. She hates him. And she has nothing left to lose. Bound by a contract and forced into a marriage neither of them wants, Mira and Eirian must play the roles of a loving couple while clashing behind closed doors. But as resentment slowly gives way to understanding, and hatred blurs into something dangerously close to desire, Mira is forced to confront the one question she never wanted to ask: Can she trust the man who once destroyed her life— or will loving Eirian Dawn Arundel cost her everything again?

Chapter 1 - Chapter #1 ( The Worst Day of My Life)

This is probably the worst day of my life. I am standing next to the man in handcuffs, holding hands together. Like, we were made for each other but in reality, I hate him to my core of heart. He is a pathological liar. Narcissistic to the max and beyond. Can't speak without referring to himself in some grandiose manner, and takes credit for every action he considers good but in truth doesn't know the difference between that and just plain bad.Hypocrite in probably all ways. And claims to have the highest IQ of - I don't know; forgot something so utterly stupid. Claims to be the best, the greatest, the "very, very" of everything attainable by a human being, almost to the point of asserting that he's a god.

I can't believe I am with him I can't bear his face for more than two seconds that's how much I hate him.

" Shall we go inside?" he said and He laces our fingers and shrugs. And he is dead. I am actually dead. There's no other way to explain it.

The storm of paparazzi hurdles around me, shoving their cameras and microphones in our faces and they were shouting, screaming. Eirian's security guards were pushing them out of our way.

As we was walking from the parking lot and crossing the street we came across a security that was sitting down in a chair. He obviously, recognize Eirianand I was looking at the billboard. They let us in without going through the security. We continue walking andthen we were stopped by a tall man in a suit to appeared to be a lawyer he asked Eirian something in a low tone and I didn't even know why we came here. Eirian nodded his head and his lawyer's team began escorting us to the courtroom. Walking into this beautiful and tremendous building was quite intimating. This court even had a huge set of stairs leading into the entrance like you see in many movies and television shows.

As I was walking along the pathway Isaw many people dressed super fancylike in dresses and nice suits and |thought to myself they must work hereor be attorneys. We finally made it to thefront sliding door.

We entered the courtroom and my eyes immediately traveled to the attorneys who were busy talking to each other. I elbow Eirian and said, " Would you tell me why we came to the court and what was the buzz outside?"

" You should keep your mouth shut! You have already created enough problems for me," He replied and I couldn't believe it. He blamed everything on me I admit that I did initiate this and did something stupid. But it wasn't all my fault.

Eirian gives me a nudge to move toward the seat. I shot him a glare and moved towards the seats and I took a seat. Eirian sat right next to me and he began talking to his lawyers.

" Where do I get stuck? I need to go to the office. It was my first day at the job and probably the last day. I will create a world record to be fired on the first day of the job... It was all because of him. He already ruined my life and then when I am trying to pick up the pieces of my scattered life. He came back again to destroy everything again," I thought in my head.

My thoughts were interrupted by my phone...

Rrrrrr... Rrrrrr... Rrrrrr.

Eirian looked at me and I quickly take my phone out, glancing at the screen I found, Avery is calling me. I picked up the call...

" Hello, Mira how are you doing? Are you in the office? How is everything going?"

" Don't ask me, I am in trouble. I will call you back if I don't murder someone," I replied to her.

" Wait, what do you mean? Are you in trouble? What have you done?" she asked me and what should I tell her that I am sitting next to the devil? I can see from the corner of my eyes that he was trying to listen to my conversation.

" I can't tell you because I am not alone. I am sitting with a snob who thinks the world spinned around him. And he can do whatever he wants but what he doesn't know. I am not his slave nor do I owe him anything. I will not follow him around like a well-trained puppy," I said out loud intentionally so he could hear me.

I can see his face turn red when he heard this and I felt so satisfied.

" Who are you sitting with? what are you talking about?" Avery asked me and Eirian snatched the phone from my hand.

" What the hell???" I said in an infuriating tone.

" This is a courtroom, not your house where you gossip to your friends about me. And what's your problem? what have I done to you?" He said in an enraged tone.

" Give me my phone back! I will scream if you won't give me back my phone."

" I won't, if you won't just keep your mouth shut!"" Look, there are police officers here. I will tell them that you are harassing me. They will put you in lockup. And you have to spend your night in a cell."

" Really, why don't you try then and see who is going to spend their night in a cell," he smirks like he was challenging me. I can't stand his ballsy attitude but I can't invite more trouble for myself. It's better for me to keep my mouth shut. Before I could ask him to return my phone back... but I was interrupted by the sound of clicking heels.

My gaze leaped on a woman. She appeared in the room with the winter snow billowing around her skirt. Her tall frame and slender body were like that of a Victoria's Secret model. Her blue eyes, like the sea, were calm and emotionless. Long, wavy blonde hair, so smooth and silky, almost as if it was tailored from gold fabric. She sat down on the seat in front of us on the opposite side as she looked out at Eirian.

I wonder, who she is. And what she is doing here? The way she dressed up she doesn't look like she works here. Her eyes were fixed on Eirian and I didn't know why? but I don't like the way she was looking at him.

A few seconds later, I saw a little boy enter the room along with a lady who was carrying a bag. He was around four to five years old. The lady led her to the bench. He looked sad don't know why? when he looks up to see Eirian his face lit up.Suddenly, I felt someone's eyes on me and I looked straight ahead of me and found the woman's eyes on me. I felt like she was going to kill me but before I could ask Eirian about them. The prosecutor announced the arrival of the judge.

We all stood up, Eirian and I played tug of war under the table. The judge sat down in her seat and began looking at the papers in front of her.

We sat down again and Eirian's lawyer took the microphone in front of him and waited for the judge to speak.

" You may proceed Mr, Michael Guptail."

And I don't know why but my heart begins to sink. I elbowed Eirian to get his attention whose eyes were fixed on the little kid. He turned his face towards me.

" Shhhh..." he made me quiet but I asked him anyway, " Who are this woman and this kid? Have you also done something wrong with them." but before he could speak. I heard Eirian's lawyer say, " Your honor, My client Mr, Eirian Dawn Arundel wants full custody of his four-year-old son Henry Arundel as he feels Miss, Melisa is incapable of taking care of his son,"

My eyes popped out of my eye socket when I heard his lawyer say this. Eirian Dawn Arundel had a son. I didn't know that he had a son.

" Your son! You had a son??" The only thing I managed to say to him. I never knew Eirian had a son...and... I turn my face to the woman and realizing hits me like a brick wall.

" She is Eirian's wife...Oh, My God! That's why she was looking at me like that," I thought and was just sure I heard everything right. I've asked him again.

" You have a son and she is your wife,"

And felt a little stupid because why am I feeling so shocked like I am his girlfriend and was appalled to find out about his secret wife and child. Why am I taking so much interest in his personal life like I don't have enough drama in my life?

" She is not my wife! let's make this clear!"

His eyes turned red when I asked him. He clutched his jaw. For a moment it seemed as if he was going to lose his temper too. His strange, pale eyes all but glared at me. But he controlled himself.

" So, that means only one thing, she is his ex-wife. No wonder why she took divorce from him who would in their right mind would live with a person like him,"

I thought but my thoughts were interrupted by the lawyer.

And to be precise his ex-wife's lawyer caught my attention and said, " Your honor, they are falsely accusing my client. Miss Melisa is a well-established entrepreneur. She is financially stable and she can give Henry a better and more secure future. Mr, Eirian on the other side, everyday spot with a new girl and we have proof of it..."

He handed a file to the prosecutor who passed it to the judge and he continued... This file shows how careless and irresponsible Mr, Eirian is... he spent most of his time partying and clubbing. And had no interest in being present in his son's life. Mr, Eirian is addicted to his luxurious and bachelor life and is incapable of taking care of a child. Mr, Eirian couldn't give him the love of a mother. I requested the honorable Judge to grant Miss Melisa the custody of her son."

His lawyer handed a copy of the file to Eirian's Lawyer who opened it and I can see the pictures of Eirian with different models, and celebrities leaving the club in a drunk state. All these pictures were the headlines in newspapers, news outlets... I recognized a couple of them. Does it surprise me? Absolutely not because I knew what kind of shitty man he is. Despite that, He is grown up now but his bad habits don't change. He is still the same old, badboy, arrogant and selfish that I have known.

Eirian glanced at the file that was presented in front of him and I can see on his face that he was in stress as he should be. His lawyer's team begins to talk about this matter. I was taking satisfaction to see him suffer.

Eirian's lawyer defends him by saying this is irrelevant to and to the case. They have requested the court to give them a next date to be prepared.Eirian's ex-wife's lawyer was quick to respond by saying that they need a judgment today.

The judge dismissed Eirian's lawyer request and informed everyone that she is going to give the judgment on the case today which is quite clear Eirian is going to lose and I mumble, " Only a miracle can win you this case Mr, Eirian Dawn Arundel, which is impossible to happen."

The judge begins writing something on the paper. I turn to look at Eirian who's looking at me and I wonder why he is looking at me like he was reading my thoughts or if he had some kind of special ability to read my mind which he is hiding from the world.

" What? Why are you looking at me like that? I swear, I didn't do anything wrong,"

" Forgive me but I don't have any other choice!" He said which made me confused but before I could ask him what he meant by that? He held my hand tight and raised me from the seat, pulling me up from my seat.

Everyone's eyes turned toward us and I smiled awkwardly while asking him what he was doing. He remained silent like a statue. Until, the judge asked him, " Would you like to say something Mr, Arundel,"

He cleared his throat, " Your honor, Miss, Melisa accused me of being the worst father and that I couldn't give him the love of a mother. But this is not true at all. I am trying to give my son everything that he rightfully deserves. I am trying to be a better person, not everyone is born perfect. I deserve a chance," he said and I don't believe the single came out of his mouth.

" Mr, Eirian is talking with emotions. We have proven to the court that Mr, Eirian doesn't deserve a right to be the guardian of his son. This little boy needs the love and care of her mother," His ex-wife's lawyer responded.

" You are right Mr, Cooper, my son needs the love of a mother that is why I brought my Fiance to the court," he said and which puts me in a state of turmoil that he had a fiance and I don't know about it. And where is she? I didn't see her.

He turned his face towards me with a nonchalant expression on his face.

" I would like to introduce everyone to Miss Mira Collins..." he pointed towards me and I was trying my best to handcuff and keep my cool. He pulled me even closer. And smile and continued... "My fiance."

I was dizzy in that room. I felt faint with disbelief. I held on to his arm to stay upright. I knew what was going on, but I couldn't absorb any of it.

My heart stops. I'm not exaggerating. I swear, for a pure second, my chest seized and all the blood flowing in my veins paused. I can't believe he would say something like that. From the look on everyone's faces, they can't believe it either.
