Chapter 29 - A New Face from the Immortal Realm

When he arrived—

There was no thunder. No immortal radiance. No heavenly phenomenon at all.

Just a young man in a plain, light-colored robe, standing quietly outside the Trial Forest.

At first glance, he looked like a lost scholar.

The disciple guarding the entrance blinked in confusion."This is the Mortal Sect. Who are you looking for?"

The young man smiled faintly."I'm asking for directions," he said."And… looking for answers."

The words were strange—but not offensive.

After a brief hesitation, the disciple turned and reported him inside.

Inside the main hall—

The moment Xiao Xuanyin saw him, his brows furrowed.

This man carried no visible signs of cultivation.

And yet—

It felt as if all his cultivation had been perfectly sealed away.

That kind of restraint was far more unsettling than obvious power.

"You're from the Immortal Realm?" Xiao Xuanyin asked directly.

The young man nodded calmly."Yes. From the Immortal Realm. The Guan-Heng Lineage."

The atmosphere in the hall tightened instantly.

Several officials subconsciously took half a step back.

That name didn't represent raw combat strength.

It represented replication.

Understanding.Analysis.Copying systems.

"What do you want?" Xiao Xuanyin's voice turned cold.

The young man showed no hostility at all.

He simply looked around.

At the lecture platform. At the mortal disciples seated quietly. At the thin booklet titled How to Know Whether You Are Suited for Cultivation.

Something flickered in his eyes.

Shock.

"I just want to confirm one thing," he said slowly."Your cultivation path… doesn't rely on exploitation."

"And it doesn't rely on ruthless selection."

"Is that correct?"

Su Wan sat to the side.

Her phone didn't sound any alarms.

But a yellow warning line quietly appeared.

[High-Risk Learning-Type Target Detected][Traits: Extremely Fast Comprehension / Replicable Logic][Threat Level: Medium–High]

Her heart tightened.

People like this were more dangerous than open enemies.

Xiao Xuanyin didn't deny it."That's right."

The young man fell silent.

Then—unexpectedly—

He bowed deeply.

Not a bow of submission. Not a bow of superiority.

A bow between equals.

"I understand now," he said quietly."You're not rebelling against the heavens."

"You're proving that another possibility exists."

Xiao Xuanyin watched him carefully."So?""What are you here to take?"

The young man lifted his head.

His eyes were clear.

"I don't want to take anything," he replied."I just want to stay… and observe."

Those words instantly put everyone on edge.

Su Wan suddenly laughed.

She stood up casually, her tone relaxed."Of course you can stay."

"But there are conditions."

The young man turned toward her."Please."

"First," Su Wan said calmly,"You are not allowed to take disciples."

"Second, you may not interfere with anyone's choices."

"And third—"

"Everything you see here cannot be copied back to the Immortal Realm as-is."

The young man froze for a moment.

Then he smiled bitterly.

"You understand me better than I expected," he admitted.

After a brief pause, he nodded.

"Fine. I agree."

Su Wan's phone vibrated lightly.

[Conditions Met][Observation-Type Coexistence: Approved]

She exhaled softly.

But she knew—

This was only the beginning.

Over the next few days—

The Immortal visitor did nothing.

He didn't teach.He didn't advise.He didn't interfere.

He simply watched.

He saw the blacksmith who failed the trial return to his old post—But with a steadier body and calmer breath.

He saw the guide from the inner palace—Now respectfully called "Aunt-Guide" by the disciples—Who never accepted gifts, never demanded reverence.

He saw Shen Yan walking through the forest—Choosing detours rather than seizing another person's opportunity.

On the seventh night—

The young man sat at the edge of the Trial Forest.

He spoke softly to himself.

"So that's it…"

"You're not building a rigid system."

"You're releasing authority."

In that moment—

He finally understood why the Immortal Realm was afraid.

At the same time—

Inside the sleeping chambers—

Su Wan stared at her phone.

A notification she had been waiting for finally appeared.

Her eyes lit up.

She smiled.

"…It's here."
