Chapter 10 - It Must Run In the Family

I couldn't believe every one of my family members had become monsters under the glow of the power of the Dark Moon Worshiper. Not knowing where we were running on our hands and legs, we were just running after the path of the moonlight. Taking us back to the woods, where we would find the Dark Moon Worshiper who cursed us to be nothing like our human selves anymore.

Unexpectedly, as we were about to cross the street in Sparkle Town, the sound of a horn honked. As I stopped running, as I watched with fear. I watched with wide-eyes open, as a bus drove by, not stopping to see we were running at it.

After running in front of the bus, it squealed to a stop at the stop light in the middle of the street. Fog in the lights of the bus, blinked a couple of times, but didn't go out. Hurrying around the side of the bus in the street, we hid behind the long, town bus.

Hearing the angry bus driver get out of the bus, to check on what had jumped out in front of him, we heard him cursing swear words so loud. It was making us want to rip out of his heart and organs and eat them.

Russell blinked at me, and pointed a clawed finger, to follow him up the top of the town bus. Before the mad, yelling, chubby and hairy bus driver, see we had gone prowling in the night.

After Russell quickly climbed up the back side of the bus, I motioned our two small monster kids to follow after my husband. I was about to follow them, but it was too late for me. I saw the wave of the angry, shouting bus driver, waving his flashlight through the fog, around the side of the bus, coming my way.

Before I had the chance to react to being caught, I quickly slid my hairy, animal body under the town bus, before I was found. Swearing loudly again, I watched under the bus as he had stepped on a small pebble in the street, next to me. Under the large bus, I was hiding under, I watched as the bus driver clumsily slipped on the gray little pebble and dropped his flashlight. I continued to watch and remain silent as the flashlight went out. And the bus driver clumsily fell onto his back with a hard thud.

It seemed the hairy, chubby bus driver was in pain. He was trying to move but he couldn't struggle to get back up. Like he was paralyzed from falling on his back on the hard rock on the ground.

I saw his flashlight in front of me under the town bus, next to me. I quickly grabbed it with my clawed, hairy hand. I crushed it with my claws. I put the pieces beside me. There was only the glow of the blue full moon, lighting a path of light on the unconscious bus driver, who was still awake, trying to get to his feet.

I heard my two monster kids, Mark and Valentino, howling at the moon. As I watched from the bottom side under the town bus, as they jumped off it. I continued staring at their hairy, hind feet, as they walked up behind the sprawled over bus driver on his back, in front of me on the ground.

My stomach was growling at my two children not to do anything stupid. Suddenly, I quickly howled and snatched the bus driver by his arm, next to me. I dragged him under the town bus, and took a bite out of his neck. And used my strength to push the heavy town bus off me.

I watched as my husband Russell, also a large, hairy, and hungry werewolf creature, leaped off the bus. Before it crashed to the side, several people, who were men and women, crashed to their death.

Howling, Russell jumped out of the side, just as we watched the town bus crash, the people who were riding the town bus splatter their blood all over the side of the street, next to us. I didn't know what to think. I looked at my monster husband with glowing red eyes. He howled at the moon and my two monster children did the same thing, along with him.

Stormy clouds started to cover the dark full moon in the sky. As we were plunged into darkness, the only glow of light was coming from the street lights on the sidewalk, next to the street. Looking at my kids and hairy husband, we started turning back to humans.

I could hear our bones cracking and breaking as we were turning ourselves back to our normal selves. I could also hear our clothes shredding and ripping apart. We were all almost done shredding our animal skin, when the full moon reappeared from behind the storm clouds again.

It glowed on us in the street, next to the turned over town bus, with the murdered bus people riding it. And we were growing dark, black animal fur on our bodies again. There was no control over it. Changing us like it was what we were supposed to become.

The next thing we knew what happened next, I heard a gun shot fire in the darkness in the middle of the street. And then, a safety net was shot on. Keeping us pinned to the ground in the wet pavement of the street, next to the crashed turned over town bus.

Looking ahead of myself, as I was struggling with my change, I saw a couple of men pointing weapons at us. They were slowly coming at us, they lowered their weapons to their side, as they came for us. Monster hunters.
