Chapter 32 - Oh boy...

Adam had barely stepped out when the atmosphere changed. The air suddenly felt heavier.

Linda stood still, refusing to show the nervousness crawling under her skin. Ezekiel leaned back in his chair, slowly picking up the papers one after another.

He picked the resignation letter first, then the cheque. His thumb paused when he saw the amount. He let out a mocking laugh and picked the third paper, which was the divorce agreement.

"You even calculated the food?" he asked in amusement, but there was something cold beneath his tone.

Linda lifted her chin. "I don't like owing people."

Ezekiel's lips curved into a faint smile. "So you think this clears everything?"

"It should," she replied calmly. "You said no company would accept dirt. Now you don't have to worry about cleaning me anymore."

He suddenly stood up. Linda's heart skipped, but she refused to move. He walked around the desk slowly and stopped right in front of her.

"You talk too much these days," he murmured.
