Chapter 29 - Questions

The dismissal didn't feel like an ending.

Aizawa simply told them they were done, rolled himself back into his sleeping bag, and started dragging it toward the hallway like the entire class had been nothing more than an inconvenient interruption to his nap schedule.

Students slowly scattered—some complaining, some relieved, some already arguing again. Bakugo stormed ahead, Midoriya lingered awkwardly near the door, and Uraraka tried to keep the atmosphere light despite the tension still hanging in the air.

Ren stayed behind.

Not because he was unsure where to go.

Because there were still things he needed to ask.

He followed Aizawa at a distance, not hiding, not rushing. Just walking. The halls were quieter now, echoing faintly with distant voices and footsteps.

Aizawa stopped near an intersection.

All Might stood there, arms crossed, his posture relaxed in that way only he could manage.

"…I'm saying it was effective," All Might was saying. "Even if the students don't realize it yet."

"They don't need to," Aizawa replied. "They just need to survive."

Ren stepped forward before the conversation could continue.

"Excuse me."

Both teachers turned.

Aizawa looked at him with half-open eyes. "

Aizawa waited.

Ren took that as permission.

"I wanted to ask about housing," he said. "Does U.A. provide dormitories for first-year students?"

Aizawa answered immediately. "No."

Ren nodded. "Understood."

All Might blinked.

Aizawa studied him for a moment, then said, "Most students commute. Some rent nearby. That's the expectation."

"I see."

Ren hesitated only briefly before continuing.

"I also wanted to ask about updating my Quirk assessment file."

Aizawa's eyes opened a fraction more.

"Why?"

"I want it to be accurate," Ren said simply. "And supervised."

All Might tilted his head. "Supervised?"

"Yes," Ren replied. "Certain environments affect how my Quirk functions. I think the data would be more complete if a U.A. teacher oversaw those conditions."

Aizawa stared at him for a long second.

"…You're asking for field observation?"

"Yes."

"Where?"

Ren answered carefully.

"Places with regulated activity," he said. "Facilities where Pro Heroes are already present. For example—detention centers. Or prisons."

The hallway went quiet.

All Might's expression shifted—not alarmed, but surprised.

Aizawa didn't react at all.

"I SEE ," Aizawa said flatly. You would have to talk with the principal

Ren accepted that without argument. "Understood."

why ask?"

"Because it beneficial form me ," Ren replied. "And because I wanted to know where the line was."

Aizawa clicked his tongue.

Aizawa turned away, conversation clearly over.

"If you're looking for housing," he added without facing Ren, "you would have to talk to the president."

Ren bowed slightly. "Thank you for your time."

He turned and walked away, leaving the two teachers behind.

All Might watched him go.

"…Interesting student," he said quietly.

Aizawa didn't respond.
