Chapter 15 - Two Days Left

"So about the Academy," Evaline stopped in front of Klaus, her eyes staring straight into his. "This will…"

'What?'

"Be the worst four years of your life!" She smiled despite the catastrophic announcement which made Jen and Klaus look at each other and sigh.

'Can't be worse than…right,' Klaus was about to say something but remembered the sitting Jen on his shoulder.

"Why?" So he just turned back towards Evaline instead, his hands rummaging in his own pockets.

"Well, combat classes, classes for mages, historical classes, and so on!" She seemed so joyous for some reason.

"This just sounds dreadful," Klaus facepalmed however Evaline tugged at his wrist.

"It's not going to be that bad, I don't know the exact classes and everything, but you'll definitely manage." Her eyes turned towards Jen. "And you already have a familiar anyway!" She puffed her chest but then seemed to remember something.

"However after what happened at the training field my brother and his minions will be onto you…" She played with her hair innocently whilst Klaus's lips twitched.

'We'll deal with that…right?' Jen just nodded, puffing out her chest like a great warrior, which made Klaus even more worried.

"You must be popular here though, thank you for all the help so far," Klaus smiled innocently, but Evaline didn't seem to agree.

"Not really…I don't know anyone here…" She scratched the back of her neck, clearly embarrassed, so Klaus just coughed and tried to change the topic.

"When do the—"

"Ah, it's good seeing students already bonding before classes even began," An extremely roughed up voice spoke up behind them, however despite that it felt calming.

'Can I stop getting interrupted..' Jen chuckled as all three of them turned, in front of them stood an old man with enormously long white hair and a white beard that reached all the way down to the ground.

'Wow, lucky bet he is a mage,' Klaus chuckled inwardly as Evaline slightly bowed, poking Klaus in his chest to follow her.

'Is he some kind of a headmaster…?' Klaus shrugged and bowed slightly as well, the man in front of them just shook his hands dismissing both of their bows.

"Lady Evaline, the boy clearly doesn't know who I am," He chuckled slightly embarrassed by the situation as both of them rose properly, straightening their postures. "My name is Marcus De Virn, I'm the academy's headmaster," he stroked his white beard whilst smiling wholeheartedly.

"Strong," Jen muttered under her breath, only Klaus heard her but he wasn't surprised at all.

"You must be Klaus, from the Alderstein family," His green eyes suddenly flashed an emerald green color as they slowly analyzed Klaus, Evaline stood silently, hands behind her back, smiling like everything was good and cool.

'So he already knows,' Klaus nodded with a forced smile which made the headmaster laugh.

"Please don't do things that aren't genuine," He scratched his head and Evaline held back a silent chuckle.

"Sorry, was it that obvious? To be honest, I didn't have a clue who you were headmaster until a moment ago," Klaus was being honest, he didn't have any idea at all, only one single tip.

"Much better, I like honesty," The old man chuckled and Evaline took a step forward.

"Sir Marcus, I was just leading Klaus around explaining some stuff to him, maybe you could help us?" Her tone was extremely polite and soft, like she was talking to a child.

"Hmm…" the old man scanned both of them then nodded, "I have a little bit of free time, the first lectures start in two days, remember," He pointed at the two of them and both nodded instantly.

'We have some help now at least huh,' Jen held back a chuckle at Klaus's words.

"Right, a familiar at such a young age is admirable, especially such a strong fire fairy," Marcus chuckled and he snapped once, a fairy appearing on his shoulder as well.

But this one was pure white, with angel like golden wings and a golden halo above his head.

Jen's eyes instantly started sparkling like she was looking at stars, she seemed full of amazement. Both her and Evaline.

'Is he strong—'

Jen bowed her head in front of the fairy.

"The young fairy seems to recognize you Astradel," The old man chuckled as he patted his own fairy.

'Astradel?' Klaus was lost for words as the two girls around him just stared at the so called Astradel in amazement.

"Perhaps, I'm a rather known familiar among our species," His voice was extremely like that of a high pitched Childs but it carried some kind of responsibility.

"Hm?" However when he turned towards Klaus his smile widened.

"I see," He laughed once then disappeared from the headmaster's shoulder completely.

"Off he goes," Marcus chuckled, "He seems to appear whenever he pleases, you have much better control than me young Klaus," The old man dusted down his shoulder then his emerald eyes flicked back to Evaline.

"Lady Evaline, however let's not just talk about young boy Klaus here," He patted Klaus on the head then continued, "I have heard from your father, Duke Veyron that you have made amazing achievements this past year!"

Evaline blushed slightly and bowed, "I'm doing my very best sir. I really like fighting!"

Marcus chuckled at his words and patted her head as well.

'Duke Veyron huh, I might actually be fucked if that Cassian kid wakes up,' Jen chuckled however Klaus sighed, already thinking back to the events that will have future consequences.

"And young lad Klaus," His emerald eyes turned towards him, "I'm looking forward to seeing your potential,"

"Yes sir," Klaus saluted like a soldier which made both Evaline and the headmaster chuckle slightly.

A couple of students started passing by them, all of them looking at them weirdly but they all greeted the headmaster with a bow.

"Well, some students are starting to come in now," He stroked his beard and turned towards the two.

"It's time I get going now children, don't forget, two days," After he finished his sentence Klaus was ready for him to teleport away as well, however to his disappointment the headmaster just strode away…

'Wow,' He chuckled inward then turned to Evaline who just yawned whilst bowing toward the leaving headmaster.

"We should get going now as well, it's late," She said whilst looking into the distance at the hanging sun that was going down.

"Yeah, we should," Klaus agreed with a yawn of his own.
