Chapter 15. Dare or Truth
This caused the live stream comments to explode.
[Female Alpha with a male Omega? Damn, amazing, look at her push him right out of the camera.]
[She's way too possessive.]
"Has his face been caught on camera yet?" Juwel asked seriously. The tone felt exactly like a student standing in front of their homeroom teacher.
Juwel could not let anyone notice Corvos.
Especially at this moment, Juwel, who had not disguised himself much besides changing gender, was standing next to the person suspected to be the husband of the original body. If they were discovered, his plan would be ruined.
"Ah, not yet. He said we'd see him as more handsome if we didn't see his face," the girl explained, her voice slightly teasing. "He also said people can't just see his handsome face for free."
[We paid and still didn't get to see it. Liar!]
[Wow, even though I didn't see his face, I could tell from the smug expression of him claiming he's handsome, it's like this icon.]
Juwel glanced at Corvos briefly, then returned his focus to the female streamer.
"Well, if there's nothing else, we'll take our leave first."
Having said that, Juwel did not wait for her reply and immediately pulled Corvos along.
[Oh my god, they're leaving just like that!! Sis, don't go!!]

[Block their way, quick!]
The female streamer decided to approach Juwel. Not for any noble reason, just simply because a viewer had spent more than a million đồng to persuade her to do so. Indeed, she had no reason to refuse such a fat offer.
The streamer smiled warmly, her eyes sparkling like she had just won the lottery. She raised her phone on a selfie stick.
"Hey, wait a sec!! My viewers are very curious about you. Can you answer a few questions? Don't worry, I won't ask anything awkward, just some simple questions, and if you agree, there's a small gift for you too!"
Juwel tilted his head, his eyes glancing at the phone and stopping at the stick she was holding.
"People are watching?"
"Yes! I'm live streaming right now!"
Juwel paused slightly. He had suspected that the smoking video of himself had been recorded on a phone, but now he realized this device could broadcast live what was happening.
"How many people are watching?" he asked directly, without a hint of hesitation.
The female streamer was surprised he asked. She became a bit boastful: "I'm a famous streamer on this platform, you know!"
Juwel patiently asked again, "About how many?"
"Right now… tens of thousands? Not top of the platform, but probably top in the region."
Juwel nodded, quickly calculating in his mind. Perhaps he didn't need to trace the source of the problem himself; he could use this person to convey the information.
"You can film, but I have one condition."
The female streamer's eyes widened. "What is it?"
"I want to use your channel to say a few words," Juwel said calmly.
The female streamer was slightly confused. She did not expect him to take the initiative. But then, thinking that she would gain interesting content for free, she nodded: "Alright then!"
Juwel did not argue, silently waiting for her to start.
The female streamer pointed her phone at Juwel, taking a deep breath.
"What's your name?"
"My name's Ngọc." Juwel said the fake name without hesitation. Right now he could not use his real name freely.
Corvos found it amusing that the name he had chosen was being used by Juwel. But since he was "in character," he could only stand aside, drink his bubble tea, and watch Juwel handle the situation.
The live screen immediately exploded with countless comments.
[What a beautiful name, just like a person's name]
[I don't know what he wants to say, his expression is too serious. And is she a female Alpha? So tall!]
[Hey, different gender can't be tall? Maybe she's an Omega then?]
"I wonder what your relationship is with the guy next to you?" The female streamer was very curious.
Juwel and Corvos had actually agreed on their roles while using these new identities.
"We are partners."
Hearing that, most people felt disappointed, the rest thought, whatever, ship them if you want, as long as they're together.
"How old are you? So I know how to address you properly."
Juwel hesitated for a few seconds. His real age was different from that of the original body. Since he was in disguise, he decided not to reveal the age of the original owner.
He paused for a moment.
"21 years old."
Corvos glanced at Juwel. From the angle, he only saw Juwel's profile: long eyelashes framing big eyes, a small face, a small nose and lips, looking no different from a kitten.
21 years old? Corvos was a bit suspicious but decided not to dig deeper for now.
"The guy next to you is the same?"
The female streamer did not forget to probe about the "boyfriend" next to him. She knew everyone would be curious.
"Wait a sec!" Juwel sharply interrupted. "I thought we agreed not to film him?"
Juwel's firm tone made the atmosphere drop quickly.
"Then can I appear?" Corvos' voice came from behind the mask, lazily drawn out with a playful tone. "I'm already handsome, but today I'll give the spotlight to Mr. Demon Mask."
The atmosphere immediately lightened a bit. The streamer could not help but point the camera at Corvos for a few seconds, while Juwel glanced at him, his expression like he really wanted to glare but couldn't show it.
Corvos tilted his head, the mask slipping slightly, revealing a mischievous sparkle in his eyes:
"But if you keep banning me… I'll think you're jealous."
The mask only covered half his face, so the teasing smirk on Corvos' lips was visible.
This was increasingly beyond Juwel's control. He wanted to end this as soon as possible. Not stopping Corvos from being filmed anymore, Juwel asked the streamer to go straight to the main point.
"We're playing truth or dare with some random people. Not sure if you two know this game."
[Even though there's a bit of a generation gap, they probably know this game.]
[Of course they know. This game is national level, damn.]
"We have levels like 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire'. The more you play, the more rewards you get, but the challenges depend on which one you draw, not that the later ones are harder. Do you want to start a challenge?"
"And if I fail?"
"Then you must choose another challenge until you complete it!"
Although he didn't fully understand, Juwel needed to use this person, so at least he had to play one round.
"Truth or dare?"
"Dare."
Juwel did not hesitate. He was not the type to reveal himself to others.
The streamer then handed him a box labeled "Dare."
[So curious, wonder which dare I'll get.]
The live stream was lively. Viewers spammed heart emojis faster than one could catch their breath. The screen overflowed with teasing comments as the "couple" stepped into the challenge.
Juwel bent down to pick a slip from the box, his back arched, and at that moment! A hand suddenly appeared right in front of his chest, the hand of someone very familiar.
Juwel tilted his head and asked, "What are you doing?"
"Covering you."
Corvos' eyes did not forget to glance at the small gap at Juwel's V-neck shirt to make it more convincing. Juwel was wearing a slightly deep V-neck, so if he bent down, it could reveal his chest.
Juwel squinted. He knew he wasn't padded, and actually, he wasn't perverted enough to wear female underwear, but it also wasn't that revealing.
The words sounded overly innocent, paired with the expression as if seriously performing a duty to protect modesty. Juwel was not used to this new side of him.
A sharp "slap!" rang out. Juwel smacked Corvos' hand hard, forcing him to retract it.
Looking at Juwel now, nobody could predict when he might explode.
At the same time, netizens also saw the whole scene. Even through filters that could blur reality, everyone felt it was real.
[So cute.]
[I almost choked on my food but I'm too happy.]
[That's it and I've been laughing this whole time.]
The streamer also joked, "Sorry, sorry, all my fault. I'm too short, that's why she had to bend down."
The streamer was at most 1.6m, so compared to someone over 1.75m like Juwel who had added height from heels she was a bit short.
Juwel opened the slip of paper. The first dare was…
Kiss the person next to you on the cheek for five seconds.
He paused a moment, his gaze flicking toward Corvos. That guy had just pulled back, apparently peeking. Especially, he pretended to be serious and acted like he didn't know what the dare was. That gesture alone could annoy Juwel for a year, no, perhaps for the rest of his life.
So he would behave more gently if they were "children" or had the innocent traits of a child?
It was like catching the rogue brainwaves of Corvos. Juwel lifted his eyes to him, forcing Corvos to stop thinking of exploiting this image.
Corvos was curious how Juwel would react. On one side was him, the enemy. On the other was a girl, whom he would not violate under any circumstances.
"Change the dare."
Juwel said indifferently as he handed the paper back to the streamer. He would not choose any option that Corvos had in mind.
"What a pity," the streamer murmured. But she accepted, knowing she couldn't force it.
Juwel drew another slip.
"Confess to the person next to you."
Seeing the dare, what caught Juwel's attention was not the content, but…
"Is there any dare that isn't about love?" Juwel asked the streamer directly.
The streamer gave a professional smile and answered directly.
"Unfortunately no. I'm just a shallow person who wants to see people in love."
Juwel knew he had to complete at least one dare successfully. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair for the value the streamer had exchanged.
After all, it was just a confession. He could just close his eyes and say, "I love you." If he couldn't discard some boundaries, he couldn't do the bigger thing.
Corvos saw Juwel turn toward him. Outwardly he seemed unaware, but inside he was quite delighted.
"I…"
A small, dry, incomplete sound.
The words were stuck in Juwel's throat. He couldn't speak.
It was like a misplaced knife; not deep enough to kill, but enough to make every nerve ache paradoxically. He looked at Corvos' pretending-unaware face and remembered who he really was, what he had done leader of a notorious criminal organization, head of cold-blooded killers, a man who could drown a whole city in blood for his devilish roleplay.
"Slap!!"
Everyone froze. Even Corvos was surprised.
Outwardly he showed nothing, but inside he had not expected Juwel to slap him in front of so many people.
Corvos couldn't see Juwel's expression because he had his head bowed, trying to calm himself down.
Corvos stared at Juwel, his eyes seeming to reach somewhere far away for a moment, but he quickly recovered his role.
It seemed like Corvos' true face had been accidentally revealed in that moment, but nobody was sharp enough to notice. Too fast to catch.
The eyes of empathy.
[She… seems a bit violent.]
[Alpha females are bossy, they don't care how others feel.]
Because of Juwel's action, the atmosphere naturally cooled down a bit.
"Uhm… if you can't do it, you can pick another one."
"Sorry," Juwel cut off the streamer's next words.
He spoke slowly, his voice regaining its usual calm. The slap earlier seemed like just an unnecessary reflex.
"I apologize for overreacting."
Juwel bowed his head slightly, not too deep, but enough to show that he knew he had gone too far.
Corvos knew that Juwel yielding to an enemy like this was extremely rare. He also didn't want things to spiral further out of control.
Juwel exhaled. These challenges were starting to drain him.
When Juwel lifted his head, Corvos' strange expression hit him. Corvos seemed to really enjoy this weird role, acting as if Juwel had just knocked out one of his teeth, whereas in the previous life, Juwel had actually done that, but Corvos had remained completely unbothered, still full of energy to provoke him.
The hand covering one side of his face wasn't even on the spot that was hit, just resting on his jaw.
Corvos glanced at Juwel, eyes saying: Aren't you going to soothe me?
[Probably got hit at home enough times to be used to it.]
[I see she's just playfully hitting, that cheek is too cute, wouldn't hit would be weird.]
[Hey, why do girls talk like being violent is normal.]
[The person involved doesn't seem to feel pain, he's still fine, so I think she just hits lightly but it sounds loud.]
Juwel knew Corvos was just taking the chance to tease him.
Juwel had never truly cared about how others saw him.
They could call him mean, no problem. Say he's rude, no problem.
Juwel had never really lived for others. He only apologized because just now, he genuinely couldn't control his anger when seeing the face of his enemy.
And he knew that was wrong. Getting mad at a dog and hitting a cat shouldn't be normalized. Even if Corvos was annoying, that body wasn't guilty.
"Do you want to continue?" the streamer reminded softly.
"Give me the dare box," Juwel returned to his game.
[She still insists on Dare, not Truth. Truth would be easier, she could lie.]
[I think she's not the type to lie.]
"The next challenge is…"
The streamer paused, her eyes lighting up as if she found something fun.
"…Dance to song X with the person next to you!"
[This game is fun!! Surely this time she won't quit.]
[The person next to her is still him, right… oh god 😭]
[Omg, I suspect she still picks the guy next to her.]
[Finally, a challenge they don't have to do secretly where we don't know.]
Juwel looked straight at the person "next to him." As expected (or nightmare), Corvos still acted like he was eagerly waiting to be chosen for this challenge.
There really was no other choice. Juwel could only signal Corvos.
The music started, like a hot breath weaving through the sidewalk.
"Do you know song X?"
The streamer felt these two might not actually know it, especially the beautiful blonde, who from head to toe seemed completely uninterested in these silly games.
"What is it?"
Of course, Juwel didn't know.
The streamer showed them a video. It was a trending partner dance on TopTop.
The movements in the video were far from modest: hip shakes, rubbing, touching waists, intimate body contact.
When the video ended, Juwel still couldn't recover his spirit. He had thought dancing would be an escape from this game, but that was a mistaken assumption.
Corvos didn't reveal his expression, seemingly memorizing the moves.
"…Let me try first,"
Juwel said uncertainly to the streamer.
He stood up straight, feet together, awkwardly swaying his hips slightly to the left, then stopping immediately.
Juwel also realized that this body was completely identical to his previous one. Although taller, the physical traits were the same. The body was flexible enough to have passed the strictest muscle reflex tests in the army.
But there was one thing… Juwel could not sway his hips in front of Corvos.
Even though the two were on a truce, living together, cooperating to finish the challenge, letting Corvos see him "sway his hips" was an indescribable humiliation.
"No way," Corvos wagged his finger, "Feels like kidney pain."
