Chapter 238 - 231 - Inhuman precision

Lyria calmly turned toward the remaining two Rank 2 necromancer mages.

When Lucretia had reached Lyria, both women had stopped in their tracks as they knew there was no longer any need to gang up on the masked woman. However, the outcome was far too contrary to their wildest dreams!

The moment Lyria turned to look at them, their hearts froze with sheer terror.

Two versus one? No! It was one monster against two helpless women! There was no point in even trying.

Both necromancers, without any hesitation, turned in two different directions and bolted.

This was a woman born for battle!

Her battle sense was so terrifyingly high that she could perhaps fight a late-stage Rank 2 without even holding a weapon! Fighting such a genius—no, a monster—was just begging for death! Not to mention they were extremely terrified, to the point their brains were continuously screaming at them: Run!

There was no way Lyria would let either of the necromancers escape.

From the moment she threw both her daggers away, she felt as if all her shackles had been removed and she had returned to her true form.

With her blazing eyes, gleaming with bloodlust, she shot straight at the woman closest to her.

The mid-stage Rank 2 necromancer had just turned around, and her deepest wish was to never see that battle-born maniac woman ever again. However, as soon as she took a single step, she saw a gloved hand pass right beside her head and grab her chin, while another hand gripped the back of her skull.

Her eyes trembled violently; her instincts screamed that something terrifying was about to happen, but it was too late to do anything.

Suddenly, her vision of the gate ahead inverted, replacing it with the bright and fierce amber eyes up close.

For a moment, time stopped for her; she could only smile bitterly in her mind. These were the eyes that almost all mages deeply envied. Such fierce eyes could melt anyone's spirit and soul alike, almost like ice being exposed to a hot, scorching sun. It was as if once one witnessed those fiercely burning flames within a true warrior's eyes, nothing else mattered; everything was burnt away, and only those raging eyes would be deeply etched within one's heart and soul.

She sighed helplessly in her heart and collapsed onto the field, dead, with her head twisted 180 degrees behind her.

After releasing the necromancer, Lyria shot toward the last woman, who was running crazily toward the wall nearby since the gate was a little too far from her location.

The early-stage Rank 2 woman's only hope was to jump over the wall and escape. If she tried to break the wall down to flee, it would take too long and she was certain to die. Although she didn't know what had happened to her senior sister behind her, the bone-breaking noise that nearly stopped her heart had been heard loud and clear.

She dashed madly with tears rolling from her eyes, only hoping her senior sister had held back that crazy woman long enough for her to escape.

Lyria could easily catch up to the fleeing woman if she used her full stats, but she had long locked them to the level of an average late-stage Rank 1 Warrior. Thus, her speed was approximately just about equal to an average early-stage Rank 2 Mage. However, since the woman had gotten a head start, she was able to arrive at the wall far quicker than Lyria.

The woman barely paused and jumped straight up while using her arms and legs to balance and speed up along the wall.

Meanwhile, Lyria dashed forward, using a dead necromancer's body as a booster to leap into the air, launching a side kick at a precise altitude high on the wall.

After the Rank 2 woman had jumped and reached a high enough height, her eyes couldn't help but brighten with hope.

She slightly turned her head around to see where the crazy woman was, and then her heart froze with horror.

Before she could even utter a sound or do anything, she watched helplessly as the crazy woman approached her exact spot at a horrifying speed.

CRACK!

The sound was clearly audible even to both Elianor and Jaylen, who were standing far away.

Lyria's side kick landed exactly on the woman's fragile neck with uncanny precision.

BOOM!

The wall blew apart from the power behind the kick, sending the dead necromancer woman flying outside the perimeter.

Lyria knew the woman was dead, so she backflipped and landed gracefully back inside the courtyard of Elianor's home. Then, without stopping, she walked toward the dead Vara's body, who was safeguarding her Sun dagger inside her chest.

Meanwhile, Elianor and her brother Jaylen remained shell-shocked. Lyria had shown abnormal accuracy and precision throughout the entire battle, from her dagger skills to her body-maneuvering skills, down to deflecting the necromancers' spells like some sort of magical performance. Everything was done with extreme precision, to the point people would wonder if Lyria had practiced on this exact battlefield numerous times before.

Even after showing such ridiculous precision and accuracy throughout the fight, Lyria's last kick belonged to a whole new world entirely.

It was like she had some artifact inside her brain that helped her calculate the exact spot the early-stage Rank 2 necromancer would appear. Not to mention, everyone's running and jumping speeds were different, yet all of that was taken into account with such minute precision that anyone seeing it would feel a deep-down horror inside their soul.

This was not a fight between humans but a fight between gods! This level of precision was simply inhuman! This sort of perfection could perhaps only be achieved by some almighty hand, and humans could only admire it from afar...

Yet they had seen it countless times throughout the battle… performed by just a late-stage Rank 1 girl.

By the time both siblings came back to their senses, Lyria had already reached the opposite wall and picked up her Moon dagger from the dead Lucretia's body.

Lyria turned to see Elianor for one final time, wanting to give her some life encouragement. With her 'gentle' eyes, she wanted to convey—'Don't be so depressed just because your love has rejected you. You still have your friends and your elder brother to live for. Try your best and live with a smile. It's not only you; 'we'—the pitiful sisters—are still on the 'waiting list', but we are still living happily every single day without a single regret. Good luck and goodbye!'

After saying this with her 'eyes', Lyria jumped straight up, arrived at the top of the wall, and then disappeared from the siblings' vision.

Lyria hadn't picked up any loot this time, leaving it all for the siblings, as they would probably need those resources to rebuild their broken wall. It was just that, when she glanced past Elianor's brother's face, his expression held such an ugly, twisted smile that it nearly made her use her Whirlwind Sprint just to run away faster.

She wondered if it was just his weird way of saying thanks for rescuing them.

Lyria nodded to herself, no longer paying any more attention to the red-haired siblings, and sprinted toward her next destination. She made sure to kill every walking moneybag around the area, filling her ring with her overtime work payment.

As soon as Lyria disappeared, both siblings came to their own senses, each drawing their own conclusions from that last eye contact.

Elianor felt Lyria's eyes were telling her that this was exactly what Eric meant when he said she was too weak to follow him…

She could only smile bitterly in her heart. On this day, she had truly understood what it meant to be strong, powerful, capable, and reliable.

She and anyone else she knew were miles apart from those three.

Lyria was so demonic that she had wiped out a group of ten experienced mana wielders single-handedly without even getting a scratch! And each one of her opponents was far higher in rank than her!

The shock both Elianor and Jaylen received this day was so massive that they lost their ability to utter any words for a long time.

After a while, Elianor sighed deeply, her depression completely washing away. She was, in fact, deeply grateful to Lyria.

Not only did Lyria save her and her only brother from meeting their ultimate demise, but she had also shown her just how terrifying a true mana wielder could be, and how frightening and nightmarish a dual-dagger wielder could be for their opponents.

Lyria had also indirectly taught her how to fight. Though it wasn't a complete, step-by-step lesson, Elianor still got a clear idea of where she should begin her training and what she needed to improve upon. Above all, Lyria had given her a target and a goal—a milestone she needed to reach before she could even call herself a true dual-dagger wielder. Until then, she was nothing but trash that could be found in every corner of Batley City, let alone the larger world.

Understanding all this, Elianor's expression shifted to pure determination. She sat down right where she was and closed her eyes to break through to Rank 2.

She knew she couldn't reach Lyria's level in a matter of a year or two, so she decided she would first break through and carry on developing her skills while also striving to reach higher ranks. Copying Lyria to the letter was simply foolish and unrealistic. She should do what she could at each individual step.

Meanwhile, when Lyria was sending her 'message' to Elianor with her gaze, Jaylen felt that Lyria was staring directly at him, and his heart nearly melted with ecstasy, reaching heaven in a single step. He couldn't help but smile widely, trying to display his best, most handsome, and manly smile.

He believed his dream girl would definitely fall for his handsome look and begin to notice him! All he had to do now was chase after her and never give up; this would finally move her heart and she would fall for him too!

And all of that would begin by first figuring out her home address!

He turned toward Elianor and nearly slapped his own forehead.

'Is she seriously trying to break through right in front of the house? And not to mention, she is still half-naked!'

Jaylen sighed, went inside the house, brought out a large folding screen, and set it up as a wind guard in front of Elianor so others wouldn't see her pitiful state. He was no longer worried about necromancers, as he knew his dream girl must have killed everyone in the vicinity.

There were still some audible fighting sounds coming from far away. Regarding that, neither Jaylen nor Elianor could do anything.

Jaylen then went and closed the outer gate.

After doing all that, he sat down, applied some medicine and bandages over his bleeding shoulder, and then began daydreaming about his future love life, giggling to himself continuously.
