Xander's POV
The heavy bass thumped through the floor as I made my way downstairs to the rager happening in my house. Still damp from my shower, I rolled up my sleeves and scanned the mayhem below. Bodies swayed across my living room while groups of students crowded around the improvised bar.
Each step down meant playing the game. A nod here, quick handshake there. My rep needed constant feeding, especially after that Vancroft mess nearly torched everything I'd worked for. The administration was all over my ass now, and Dad's endless speeches about "proper behavior" rang in my ears every damn day. Tonight's party had to look respectable, at least on the surface.
The crowd split as I headed for the bar. Killian appeared out of nowhere, his massive paw crashing down on my shoulder hard enough to rattle my teeth.
"Brother!" His voice cut through the pounding beat.
