"So how exactly am I supposed to find one of these mystical fated mates?" I couldn't keep the skepticism out of my voice. The whole concept sounded like something out of a cheesy romance novel.
Vivienne's voice remained patient through the phone. "There are several telltale signs. Sometimes it manifests as an overwhelming pull toward someone you barely know. Other times, fated mates possess a unique ability to calm each other in ways no one else can. And then there are stories of such intense attraction that literal sparks seem to fly between them."
My breath caught. Images flashed through my mind - that first collision with Ash outside the admissions building, the burning sensation that had shot through me when our bodies connected. Then later, when he had stormed into my room and grabbed my arm, that same electric shock had coursed through my veins.
Electric. Like actual electricity.
