Life after my wolf awakened felt like learning to exist in a completely different body. Every sensation hit me with overwhelming intensity. The soles of my feet registered each tiny stone beneath my running shoes as if they were boulders. Scents bombarded me from every direction, so potent that I nearly threw up from my own post-workout smell.
But the most challenging adjustment was my new roommate.
My wolf had transformed from an occasional whisper into a relentless commentator on every aspect of my existence. Her voice echoed constantly through my thoughts, offering opinions I never asked for and critiques that drove me to the edge of sanity.
Training with Alaric had resumed, but he pushed me harder than ever before. During one particularly brutal session, he slammed me into the ground with such devastating force that my lungs seized up completely.
