Lyra's POV

I arched my eyebrow at his statement. "She obviously doesn't see it that way."

"I was with her one time." His tone carried an unsettling stillness. "It was a lapse in judgment. I recognize that, and it won't happen again. She's reading more into it than what actually occurred."

I made a soft sound of acknowledgment and shifted to lean my spine against the cold brick wall. Our shoulders remained separated by several inches. It seemed we were both wary of physical contact. A shiver ran through me as I recalled the electric sensation from before. Ash glanced at me from the corner of his eye.

"Chilly?" he inquired.

"Somewhat," I murmured.

Ash moved and began tugging at the hem of his t-shirt. For a brief moment, I expected him to offer it to me before he pulled the garment completely over his head.

Jerk.

"You should transform," he stated. "Your wolf body will provide better insulation."

I wobbled slightly where I stood. "I'm unable to," I admitted quietly.
