Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: I am the smartest.

Her sudden move stunned everyone at the scene.

However, Uru Hong Jing was the first to recover.

His gaze fixated across the thrown flag; his body flickered as he appeared to grasp it.

But just as he did.

A light beam pierced right through his stomach!

"Hmph! You may be very slippery, but once I know where you'll go you are very easy to catch." Qiao Yun stated.

Uru Hong Jing turned his gaze towards Qiao Yun.

"Hateful!" He gritted his teeth, his eyes spiraled yet again.

And a powerful laser was shoot, towards Qiao Yun.

Qiao Yun as a Light Cultivator unleashed his own beam, for an instant the two forces were even.

Yet, when his vision was completely covered by the intense lights.

From an unsuspecting angle, another ray was shoot.

Qiao Yun raised his eyebrows, realizing at the last moment what was happening.

A rainbow aurora surged, blocking every attack from each angle.

Yet, it was precisely this gap that enabled Uru Hong Jing to move his gaze away and teleport successfully.

After doing this, he began to escape!

While fleeing at a rapid speed, he did not forget to put one of his hands towards his stomach.

From that same hand a viscous substance like honey entered into his system, rapidly treating his wounds.

Whilst his Ocular Path lacked the healing methods to treat himself, he still could employ the power of other paths to achieve the same, at most it was a bit more inefficient.

"Shit! We cannot let him escape." Qiao Yun said anxiously.

While he had managed to gain the advantage, it was purely due to a cheap shot.

If Uru Hong Jing was allowed to recover his full strength, could they truly take him head-on?

Le Tu of course understood this well.

Once more, his body submerged deep under the soil, and then he chased after him.

Still, his and Qiao Yun's speed were far too inferior to his.

Still, to keep him busy Qiao Yun from his fingertips keep bombarding the zone, forcing Uru Hong Jing to dodge nimbly.

Alas.

The situation rapidly grew worse as Uru Hong Jing healed himself, his strength of course recovered.

Four minutes later during the chase, he finally turned his body to glance at the two.

"Curious, it does seem that Qin Jiji truly has left." He thought somewhat puzzled.

In reality, when the woman had decisively thrown the flag towards his location.

While initially he was elated, and even made a mistake because of his excitement.

Soon realized the peculiarity of the situation.

"Le Tu may have ambushed her and used that strange clone to emit that strange cloud, which somehow weakened her.

And he may also be a Grandmaster, but can that truly be enough to threaten her?"

In his mind the answer was clearly not.

While he had yet to understand the substance inside that clone, he knew that Le Tu despite his bow not to kill had a surprising amount of understanding regarding Poisons, such as anesthesia, or other numbing poisons.

Thus, it stood to reason that the thing inside her body was poison.

But she had an extensive understanding plus Time Path was pretty good at healing, albeit at a high cost.

Perhaps one could argue that she left because she feared Le Tu's grandmaster expertise, but that felt illogical too.

A kid cannot beat a gorilla no matter how good their technique is.

"But if she was not too threatened, why did she decide to flee?" Once this thought crossed his mind, he considered the possibility of an ambush.

By faking her escape, she could return once the two sides were exhausted.

Thus, during the chase, he secretly planted several of his ocular globes across the zone, which would warn him if the woman still stood nearby.

Once he discovered her location, he was intending on communicating secretly with Le Tu and his friend.

Then, the three would join forces and ambush her, like this they could easily turn the situation around.

Yet.

To his absolute bewilderment.

He had not found her location even after all this time.

"Is she truly able to fool my senses?" He frowned, before shaking his head.

"As an Ocular Cultivator my ability to perceive is my strongest aspect, if she can subvert even that, then I already have lost and no amount of scheming will change that." He thought to himself.

Thus, regarding that point, he considered another possibility.

"Was Le Tu's poison truly this effective?" His wariness reached its peak at this point.

Uru Hong Jing kept observing the two, trying to discern what had happened.

Le Tu and Qiao Yun stopped in their tracks too.

They stared at each other.

Le Tu pressed his arms towards the ground, from which.

Several rock serpent creatures emerged.

They surged like a tide.

Many went straight towards him, but far more began to move around seemingly trying to surround him.

Uru Hong Jing stared at this calmly, his gaze fixated in the mystery regarding Le Tu.

"The only logical explanation I find, is that Le Tu's attainment in Poison is as profound as his Earth Attainment, with such a profound understanding it would not be too surprising that he could overcome her defenses." He thought to himself.

His thoughts seemed logical, of course they were far from the truth.

But upon understanding this point, he also thought.

"Earth Path excels at defense, but is lacking in speed, whereas Poison Path is very vicious and lethal, but has a very short range.

Plus it also lacks the raw power of most Paths." Then, he turned his gaze towards Qiao Yun.

"Whereas his friend is a Light Cultivator his attacks and speed are great, but his offensive and defensive power are lacking."

He closed his eyes.

This was difficult, very difficult.

While he could overwhelm and overcome either of the two, the match together gave him a huge pressure.

Still.

His gaze shone with a deep gleam.

He was not planning to give up.

He smiled lightly.

"Oh, you seem to be preparing something big, then do not mind if I do it too." He raised his two arms towards the skies.

From which, several eyes were shoot at thunderous speed.

Those ocular globes.

Slowly filled the area.

"How is he able to create so many eyes from scratch?" Qiao Yun wondered, but Le Tu shook his head.

"He's not creating them from scratch, those things, they are Gu's."

Uru Hong Jing nodded in response.

"You could infer this much so quickly, very impressive."

"However, I do wonder if knowing this much will help you."

Suddenly.

All those eyes turned towards Le Tu.

Observing him from every angle.

[All eyes on You!]

Perceiving this strange aura, Le Tu moved his body backwards but Uru Hong Jing laughed.

"Useless! Useless!"

All those eyes shone with intense red lights; they shoot a myriad of powerful rays towards him.

Le Tu raised his right arm, shooting an small pebble in response.

However, that small pebble grew in size rapidly, blocking all the incoming attacks.

While this happened.

Uru Hong Jing took the chance to teleport, towards Qiao Yun's location!

"I will get rid of you first." An skeletal armor surged again, this time a blade emerged from it.

Striking towards him.

Qiao Yun retreated backwards, his body shining in a rainbow pattern.

Naturally, Uru Hong Jing used his flickering move, once more appearing near Qiao Yun.

Qiao Yun cancelled his previous movement, then he changed his direction.

Just as this happened, a tiny smile appeared in Uru Hong Jing's face.

Qiao Yun stared at the man confused.

"Why does he look joyf-" Before he could finish the phrase.

From behind.

A single ray had been shot.

The moment he was struck, his body hardened in the spot, whilst he still moved, his direction was fixed.

Well, not entirely.

Concentrating to the fullest, he could somewhat clumsily turn his direction.

But while he could change his direction, he found that he could not slow it down, nor speed up, it seemed as if he was in a car whose accelerator was stuck with a brick.

Uru Hong Jing chuckled at the scene.

This was of course, product of his petrified gaze Killer Move.

As for how he was able to hit him?

Well, one only needed to look at the field of eyeballs he had arranged earlier.

While at simple glance, it looked like he had prepared such a field to distract Le Tu whilst he personally struck Qiao Yun that was but the tip of the iceberg.

In reality, whilst most of the eyes shoot directly there was a single pair which instead of shooting, triggered another move to instead conceal itself.

While this concealment was not perfect by any means, and it would have been very easy to detect by itself.

Those flashy lights helped to conceal both its aura and presence, to the extent it was almost impossible to detect.

During that period, the petrification aura had been concentrating, until it was ready, plus he also struck in such a way that Qiao Yun would directly step onto the ray all on his own.

Uru Hong Jing touched his chin, while saying.

"I indeed am the smartest." Without giving a single other word nor explanation, he directly teleported towards Qiao Yun.

Once he did, he began to charge his aura.

A pair of eyeballs appeared from thin air, those eyes looked bulged and exaggeratedly huge.

They seemed on the verge of exploding.

They were shoot towards Qiao Yun.

But Qiao Yun would not simply wait for death, he gritted his teeth.

Through all his effort, he forcefully cancelled his Killer Move!

But this led to a backlash, furthermore even after stopping the Killer Move his momentum still drove him towards Uru Hong Jing.

Understanding this, even amidst the agony of a failed Killer Move, he made another one.

His fist shone with intense glamour, and then.

He punched himself right in the face, to redirect himself.

Naturally, Uru Hong Jing would not give away such a free advantage.

He flickered towards his direction again.

But then.

A rock serpent which was nearby, raised its mouth, from which several earth projectiles were shoot.

Uru Hong Jing sighed inwardly.

He closed his eyes turning his body intangible, but avoiding that dangerous attack.

Whereas Qiao Yun finally found breathing room, a green light appeared in his body, and he begun to heal.

Still, he kept observing Uru Hong Jing warily.

While before he had underestimated the man, for he had been able to last for so long.

He now understood it was purely because he was observing him, now that he understood his limits, he struck fiercely and mercilessly.

And yet.

Reinforcements were coming.

From the corner of his view, Le Tu was rapidly heading towards the two, he was almost there.
