Yuki Tsukumo hung up the phone and complained loudly to the air.
"Tengen, you've failed in your duty!"
"You actually let a Cursed Spirit's spy infiltrate the Jujutsu Higher-Ups!"
"Now we're in a very passive position."
A phone rang, and Yuki Tsukumo answered without surprise.
"It is indeed my failure," Tengen sighed.
"I thought you'd say you can't control the Jujutsu Higher-Ups; after all, those old men won't listen to your orders," Yuki Tsukumo sneered.
"The Jujutsu Higher-Ups are supposed to maintain the highest degree of purity, and I am the prerequisite for ensuring that."
"I failed to notice that the Jujutsu Higher-Ups had been infiltrated by a spy... or perhaps bought off."
"I should have recognized the corruption that immortality brings to the Jujutsu Higher-Ups long ago."
"I should have issued a warning, but I failed to do so."
"I am deeply ashamed," Tengen lamented.
Yuki Tsukumo no longer knew what to say.
Tengen was supposed to be the person standing at the pinnacle of the Jujutsu world.
Her Immortality Technique ensured the enduring prosperity of Jujutsu Sorcerers.
She was not obsessed with power or wealth, living forever in an empty shrine, ceaselessly maintaining the Great Barrier of Japan.
She was almost the embodiment of a saintly spirit, yet she was as unassuming as a common brick in a wall.
Yuki Tsukumo could no longer voice any complaints.
She asked, "Tengen, our secret operation has been exposed."
"Are you still confident you can capture the King of Curses?"
"My Great Barrier cannot extend abroad; I am powerless..." Tengen pondered.
"Perhaps you could ask Satoru Gojo for help."
"No, remember the second Binding Vow?"
"I must meet the King of Curses without anyone noticing."
"If it were you, I don't know your methods that well, so I could maintain the Binding Vow while you tracked me."
"But I know Satoru's methods very well; I can ensure he won't be able to track me," Yuki Tsukumo sighed.
"You know Satoru Gojo very well?" Tengen asked curiously.
"Satoru Gojo possesses the world's most elite 'eyes.'"
"No flow of Cursed Energy in this world can be hidden from his sight."
"If he wanted to track you, he would only need to record your Cursed Energy residue, and no matter where you ran, he could find you."
"It's precisely because I know his Six Eyes so well that he can't track me," Yuki Tsukumo sighed.
"His Six Eyes are known worldwide."
"To prevent being tracked by him, countless Jujutsu Sorcerers have contributed their wisdom."
"Most of that wisdom is indeed useless against him, but some of it works."
"Unfortunately, I am one of those who can make it work."
Uraume once told the Immortal Master that a battle between Jujutsu Sorcerers is a battle of intelligence.
Even if the gap between the two sides is vast and they are incomparable, as long as you know all of the opponent's methods, there is a way to avoid them.
At the very least, you can recognize the upper limit of your own strength and avoid going to your death.
Yuki Tsukumo is an all-around Special Grade Sorcerer, and she happens to know Satoru Gojo very well.
She has quite a bit of experience in how to shield herself from Satoru Gojo's Six Eyes.
Conversely, Yuki Tsukumo's intelligence data has been well-protected by her.
This makes Uraume act with caution when facing her, far from the composure shown when facing Satoru Gojo.
"He is too proud," Tengen said.
This was an admission that if Yuki Tsukumo sincerely intended to hide, Satoru Gojo would not be able to discover her.
"It seems we'll just have to fight it out," Yuki Tsukumo rallied her spirits.
"It seems that high-level spy in the Jujutsu Higher-Ups hasn't lost their mind enough to reveal all my data."
"At least the King of Curses doesn't know the specific details of my Cursed Technique, only that my strength is immense..."
"Heh, the outward appearance of my technique is just great strength, and I've never performed a Domain Expansion."
"My information protection has worked."
"I will find a way to reduce the forces around the King of Curses," Tengen said thoughtfully.
"Although Ashiya is an ancient Jujutsu Sorcerer, his own combat power is not worth mentioning and shouldn't pose a threat to you."
"The problems now are the Intelligent Cursed Spirits created by the King of Curses himself, that group of Curse Users, and... Kinji Hakari."
"It looks like it'll be a free-for-all."
Yuki Tsukumo clenched her fist, but her expression was not heavy.
She was very good at chaotic battles; she didn't fear it, but rather looked forward to it.
But Tengen said, "...Not necessarily."
Not necessarily?
"I've repeated many times that Ashiya was a conservative samurai whose pursuit of samurai honor was unparalleled even in his era," Tengen said slowly.
"If you truly go alone, then as the King of Curses who inherited Ashiya's spirit, it is highly likely it will also face you alone."
"Just as it went to the Zenin Clan alone."
Yuki Tsukumo's mouth twitched.
"Does the King of Curses really think he can deal with me alone?"
"I don't know," Tengen said.
"But you must be careful, you might be in great danger..."
"Before you face the King of Curses, I suggest you leave a will."
"I'm not joking or trying to pressure you, but my logic tells me that you might indeed not be a match for the King of Curses."
This was an incredibly offensive sentence, but incredibly, Yuki Tsukumo did not feel displeased.
This was because deep down, she thought so too...
The King of Curses might truly be prepared to kill her, even if he didn't know the specific details of her Cursed Technique.
Yuki Tsukumo felt pressure rising out of nowhere.
Tengen noticed the subtle shift in Yuki Tsukumo's emotions and changed the subject.
"Let Satoru Gojo give his student a phone call."
"You want to sway Hakari?" Yuki Tsukumo asked.
"I don't know if it will succeed," Tengen said calmly.
"Kinji Hakari respects Satoru Gojo very much."
"If Satoru Gojo personally invites him, Kinji Hakari likely won't be able to refuse."
"But I am not sure if it can make Kinji Hakari betray the King of Curses, because the King of Curses has given Kinji Hakari too much."
