Chapter 22 - THE REALMS OF THE GODS

"The ancient god teleported, appearing only a few steps away from Yunxihua.

His aged eyes, radiating the wisdom of thousands of eras, narrowed sharply as he sensed the wave of energy enveloping the girl's body.

With a heavy voice that echoed as if coming from the depths of the heavens, he asked,

'This aura…

why is there such a familiar aura residing within your body, child!!'

Without giving Yunxihua any chance to ask questions, the ancient god raised his hand.

The space around them trembled, divine light spreading like ripples across the surface of water. In an instant, Yunxihua's body was shrouded in a golden radiance.

'You are coming with me,' the god said, his voice resounding like muffled thunder.

Then, in a single flash of light, he carried Yunxihua beyond the boundary of the mortal world—entering the Divine Realm, a place where the sky was layered with heavenly light and every strand of air carried pressure powerful enough to crush ordinary cultivators.

The ancient god let out a long sigh, his gaze fixed on Yunxihua, who was still enveloped in the remnants of the inherited light.

'I never expected it… that old dragon,' he muttered, his voice carrying the echo of thousands of eras.

He truly gave all of his inheritance… even willing to sacrifice his soul to fuse with this human child.

A mixture of awe, respect, and slight disbelief blended in his words, as if even a being as exalted as himself had not anticipated such a momentous decision.

'I thought that old dragon had broken through to the Ancient Heaven Realm,' the ancient god said softly, yet each word carried pressure as though crushing space itself. 'But it seems… he instead became stranded in the Human Realm.

How ironic—such a great being, a guardian of past eras, ending up far from the throne that should have been his place.'

He stared deeply at Yunxihua, as if trying to read the lingering traces of the dragon's soul still pulsing within her body.

'And now… all of his power resides within you, child!!'

Yunxihua looked at the ancient god with a pale face and eyes filled with questions.

The words spoken by that exalted being felt foreign to her—the Ancient Heaven Realm, the old dragon, the sacrifice of a soul… all of it sounded far beyond her understanding.

'I… don't understand,' Yunxihua said softly.

Her voice trembled, not from fear, but from not knowing what had truly happened to her.

The ancient god gazed at her for a long time, as if judging whether her confusion was genuine or merely an act.

'Of course you do not understand,' he finally replied, his voice deep yet calm.

'A child like you could never comprehend the decision of a primordial dragon… nor the price that had to be paid to grant you that inheritance.'

"The ancient god finally shifted his gaze away from Yunxihua.

His eyes pierced through the ceiling of the Divine Realm, as if looking at something far back in the past.

The voice that emerged from him was gentler, yet filled with heavy nostalgia.

'That dragon… was not merely a great being,' he said slowly.

'He was my old friend—a brother-in-arms who accompanied me through thousands of eras and ancient wars that were never recorded in the history of any world.'

A flicker of emotion flashed through his eyes, fleeting yet clear enough to leave Yunxihua stunned.

'We broke through storms of chaos, shattered the tyranny of the star demons, and maintained the balance between realms.'

He smiled bitterly. 'But time… time separated us.

I believed he had ascended to the Ancient Heaven Realm to accept the highest destiny of a primordial dragon.'

The god clenched his fist, divine aura shaking the air.

'It turns out I was wrong. He never reached that throne. He fell… stranded in the Human Realm.'

The god's voice lowered, filled with bitterness and loss.

'And now I have found the remnants of his soul—revived… through you, child.'

Hearing this account, Yunxihua fell silent.

Her chest felt warm and heavy at the same time—as if she could sense a fragment of the bond that once existed between the primordial dragon and this ancient god.

Without hesitation, she immediately bowed deeply, offering respect with utmost politeness and gratitude.

'If… if Senior is an old friend of the Primordial Dragon, then I, Yunxihua, offer my sincerest respect,' she said softly yet firmly.

The aura around the ancient god rumbled for a moment, as if responding to Yunxihua's action.

He gazed at the girl for a long time, then let out a soft sigh.

'Rise, child. You do not need to lower yourself so much.'

His tone was no longer heavy or overwhelmingly majestic—instead, it carried a trace of warmth that had not been present before.

'My friend chose you as his inheritor… which means he saw something within you.'

The ancient god's gaze softened.

'From now on, I wish to know what it is that made that stubborn old dragon willing to hand over his entire soul to you.'

"Without any warning, the ancient god raised two fingers.

The space around them shook violently—as if reality itself stepped aside to give way.

In an instant, Yunxihua felt her body dragged by a force she could not resist. White-golden light enveloped her vision."

When the light faded, she was already standing in a place she had never seen in her entire life.

The sky was layered with purple hues, floating mountains towered in the distance, and at the center stood a magnificent pavilion filled with ancient carvings.

The air there was so dense with spiritual energy that Yunxihua's breath almost caught in her throat.

The ancient god stepped forward, standing upon the steps of that residence.

'This is my Immortal dwelling,' he said calmly, yet his authority shook the entire place.

'From today onward, because my old friend entrusted his life to you… I will be the one to shape you.'

He looked at Yunxihua with a sharp gaze that seemed to pierce straight into her soul.

'You will train here. Not as a mortal human… but as the successor of the primordial dragon's inheritance.'

The wind within the Immortal dwelling stirred as if welcoming a new guest, and Yunxihua felt as though the world itself was focusing its attention on her.

'Prepare yourself, Yunxihua,' the god said in a tone that blended threat and promise.

'The training you are about to receive… will begin to reveal who you truly are.'
